  1. ^^ That was one of my favorite moments of this show ever. It seemed off the cuff and what he actually thought about that audience.
  2. This. I don't understand the point of these guests. I don't like it when the Dems do the talking point thing either but these Trump bots are insufferable.
  3. Ha! But seriously, how many people has Hillary killed? More than Dexter? I hope the analysis of Latino voters is right. I would be delighted if that were a deciding factor in Trump getting his ass handed to him.
  4. Oh, I agree that he's trying to do what lots of people do - look good on paper while not paying any tax. What he says the properties are worth has nothing to do with income tax returns (which use the actual cost of things) or property tax assessments (value given by the local taxing authorities). And I have plenty of clients who - on a much smaller scale - use losses from one business to offset gains from another. It's perfectly legit, and he is legitimately a real estate professional so he does get some special treatment from the IRS. The property tax abatement stuff is just bullshit, but that's not uncommon even here in upstate. Again, I'd rather people like Lawrence hammered him on the things that are more unique to Trump - the phony university, the overseas manufacturing of his clothing line, his unwillingness to release his tax returns (which I think would show decent income but almost no charity). That all has the added bonus of not being boring as hell!
  5. I'm a bit of a tax nerd (it's what I do for a living) so hearing Lawrence and his guest talk about depreciation as if it's a scam for real estate moguls really irritated me. Even jerks like Trump pay actual money for their buildings (mostly in the form of mortgage payments), so I've got no problem with them getting a tax deduction- spread out over 39 years, I might add. There are plenty of real issues to slam Trump on, no need to get huffy about a perfectly legitimate business expense.
  6. I loved Lawrence's show last night. Great guests, intelligent discussion, and the final segment with everyone's suggestion for debate stand ins was very funny.
  7. The WaPo annotated transcript was brilliant. Now I don't have to watch the show. Somehow reading it was easier than watching it would be. When was the last time Trump talked to any media type other than Sean Hannity? Even with all his "stamina," he couldn't keep up with Rachel.
  8. I'm pretty sure that Glenn Beck making sense is a sign of the apocalypse.
  9. Cher was great. I prepare taxes for a living so I always enjoy the tax return discussions. Lawrence has had some good guests on talking about it and I'm glad he keeps bringing it up.
  10. I don't want to know what ads I'd start seeing if I clicked on that link. Tonight's show should be fun. Then again, I'm getting tired of so much coverage of Trump. Has Clinton done nothing worth noting this week? How about some more coverage of the Louisiana devastation?
  11. Joy Reid not letting the Trump "surrogate" (when did that become a thing? Seems recent to me) recite his talking points was the highlight of my day. I love her.
  12. Rachel saying Trump is toast made me laugh. Something about the way she said it. For fun, read Chris Cilizza's annotated transcript of the Manafort interview with Jake Tapper (published yesterday in the Washington Post). Good stuff.
  13. Malcolm Nance and Lawrence were great tonight, but Hugh Hewitt makes my brain hurt.
  14. Ah, I should have DVR'd the late airing of Chris Hayes too! Thanks potatoradio for recapping that bizarre exchange on Tweety the other night. I just happened to see it and tried to recount it to a friend, but couldn't remember what the reporter said. She seemed quite nonplussed by Chris calling her biased, rightly so. Lawrence's show last night was stellar. I think he has a unique perspective, having been a working part of government for so long.
  15. Oh, agreed that speculation isn't generally useful. I was just in the mood for some optimism last night. I hope we get some focus on HRC and the historic nature of her nomination but it seems like Trump just sucks everyone's attention away. Instead of pointing out his lies, maybe someone could rebut some of the more egregious untruths spouted about HRC by his supporters.
  16. I enjoyed Steve at the board last night as well - jacket off, sleeves rolled, let's turn all the states blue!
  17. Lawrence O'Donnell referring to Trump as "the most abjectly ignorant person to run for president" reminded me of why he's been my tv boyfriend for over 20 years! I need to start recording All In. I love Chris Hayes.
  18. I love this so much. Good move by the Clinton campaign.
  19. Rachel deserves a break. I think time spent with BriWi and the odious Wallace should be measured like dog years. (And I used to like him! I loved his Regis impressions on Letterman.) The "breaking news" banner misuse is getting embarrassing.
  20. I was just saying to a friend yesterday that that was the last ethical thing John McCain ever did. Rachel did seem a bit giddy last night. If the polls hold up, I may get giddy too!
  21. Yes, Eugene has a voice for print journalism but it doesn't bother me coz I love him. I liked the psychologist (? Not sure of his title) on LOD last night pointing out that Trump has several personality disorders but is not mentally ill. Saying he's insane is an insult to the truly ill.
  22. I'm on the east coast so could watch MJ if the hosts didn't annoy me so much. And too many commercial breaks! But I love Euge (as Keith Olbermann refers to him) and the panel is often good. Maybe I'll start settingthe DVR and zip through it before work.
  23. I liked the live shows. I'm surprised they're not on vacation this week; they must be exhausted. The Werd was great. I hope it becomes a regular feature.
  24. I too loved the Trudeau interview. I still have all my Doonesbury anthologies. I really hate Rachel referring to Bush 1 as Poppy Bush. It's too familiar or something.
