Yes and he was quite clearly following them.

Oh but if the writers had made Brett do what any normal person would have done, then they wouldnt have had the opportunity of her meeting up with the new Chaplain. One has to suspend belief when watching this show!
-
Such a shame they got rid of Chaplain Orlovsky because Gordon Clapp was brilliant in that role, and they could have had the love interest as his trainee except for the fact that would mean they would actually have had to PAY both actors and clearly their wage bill is too high already (witness lack of extras here there and everywhere they should be but aren't!). Sad for this show!

l know a lot of this show's original viewers/fans feel the same way and just watch it now to support some of the cast members. The writing is fairly poor and the plots even poorer and NBC seem to be pulling the rug out from under its feet these days. The company is clearly reducing its budget down to the bone and that is a great shame. NBC seems to have more on its plate than it can handle show wise and so the older ones suffer for the new ones by the look of things. CF was amazing until they started PD then MED and the whole One Chicago thing blew up and boy could you see the difference in Fire then!

It would be great to see Cruz have a regular GF even if she isnt on screen every episode. Dont want to see him pine for Brett ever again. That's old and done with. Speaking of which, Casey needs to move on, divorce Dawson and change his life with a new lady who will give him the family he so wishes for, whether that is Naomi or someone else. Dawson dumped him so he needs to reciprocate. Dont know if the show is up to this though as they are still pining for Gabby to come back to the show. Let's hope she doesn't. Even Monica has said that her leaving the show presents the writers with the chance to give 'her friend Jesse' fresh new story lines so let's see if they listen to her cos so far they havent listened to the fans and Casey is just getting pushed into the background so far this season. Sad.

You experienced the reality of things but don't forget this is 'Chicago Fire land' where the writers can magic up anything!
-
I often wonder if the writers and show runner of Chicago Fire actually do any research when concocting their plots because from what l read on here, it seems very doubtful! And if they do do any research it seems they just ignore the facts and just write to suit their own personal 'realities'. Don't know how much input (if any) the real life CFD has but by the look of things, very little.
-
Casey actually meant to say that Naomi reminded him of Hallie l reckon. She is in NO way at all like Gabby Dawson was but of course the writers are in complete denial about Dawson having left the show for good and seem to be hanging onto her in any way they can, no matter how tenuous and maybe they are having a competition to see if they can get her name into every episode somewhere!
-
The writers are making Casey delusional then, just like they are! Dawson is a lingering stink that won't go away. The air needs clearing and Casey needs to move on along with TPTB and writers.
-
Let's hope that Foster isnt simply a Gabby-alike but it wouldnt surprise us in the slightest since Derek Haas is so overheated about Monica Raymund and Gabby! He's probably still in denial about her leaving and the writers just can't bear not to be writing for Dawson's horrible, selfish, obnoxious character so they're making Foster into Gabby Mark 2! Urgh! No thanks!
-
They probably haven't thought about that yet! They aren't bothered about reality these days!

Severide gave Pouch away to a kid who had lost his Mum and was rescued into the care of his aunt. The woman at the bar was, l think, the lovely Patti Murin who is Colin Donnell's (Connor Rhodes in Med) real life wife, currently playing Anna on Boradway in Frozen the Musical. She used to be in Med l think.
-
CF writers aren't very big on realism in any shape of form these days! It's almost as if they have just given up! Sad for the show because the actors give 110% so it's a shame the writers don't seem capable of doing the same.
-
Looks like it. To be honest, we find that we increasingly have to suspend knowledge and common sense while watching Chicago Fire. They don't seem to do much research or if they do, they just ignore or twist facts to suit their writing level.

Yeah we're all praying for no return of St Gabby! That's gonna lose the show viewers big style! The ending was very poor. Casey having to cow tow to St Gabby once again! Sad that the writers didnt come up with anything better, like killing St Gabby off in PR thereby leaving Casey free and viewers heaving a collective sigh of relief that St Gabby can never return! Casey was well aware that his marriage is well and truly over but she needs to disappear for good.
-
Let's start praying this doesnt happen then! Bleugh! Love Casey to bits but he and Brett don't go together at all and we don't want to ever see or hear from Dawson ever again! Lol.

Twitter is where Derek Haas and his little crowd of dawsey 'fans' hang out and he seems to love them so much. Far more people on various social media platforms couldn't STAND Dawson as she was written to be so horrible. Ignorant, selfish and manipulative. And she treated Casey like SHIT! The last scene of the season premier was cringe-making ---poor Casey having to spout that crap to her as if he was so lucky to have walked alongside her on her glorious journey to sainthood. It was painful to witness and we are so glad she is gone! No longer a screen hog and Casey is no longer her doormat! Hooray! Now the writers might have to do some work to actually think up some plots that involve fires, rescues and the like instead of palming the viewers off with Dawson's crappy story lines. And if tptb want to check how disliked Dawson was as a character then they only need to look outside twitter! Now at least Casey can get his balls back and be the great character he used to be pre-Dawson! The show would be better if she was never mentioned, seen or heard from again but that is likely too much to hope for!

He is Steve Chikerotis...a real life CFD guy and he is tech adviser on the show with a small role now and again
-
l find it's the behaviour and competence of the writers and show runner of Chicago Fire that are in question because they are solely responsible for all the incompetence and idiocy that happens on screen!
-
We haven't heard the last of her according to Derek Haas though...he said it would be mid season when we see how Dawsey plays out. l just don't want characters pining and mooning over her leaving though! Ugh! And why could she just not contact Brett herself off screen so we didnt have to suffer seeing that note she gave to Casey to pass to Brett? That was just a blatant attempt by the writers to keep Dawson's influence going!
-
He seemed to have found his balls at the end of S6 so let's hope he has managed to keep them! And what a pile of rubbish poor Casey was made to spout in that last scene of the S7 premier. It was completely cringeworthy! Let's hope that the communication links from PR are down...for ever! Dont want to see of hear from her ever again unless its divorce papers for Casey!
-
This episode was really poor in the way they made Casey look like the bad guy, and made St Gabby look like such a hero. But that's been par for the course for a while so why would we be surprised that they've done it again. And of course she will single handedly get the island rebuilt! And l wonder what would have happened if Casey hadn't just walked into his apartment when he did? It looked to us like she was just going to leave without letting him know she was leaving for PR permanently. Typical of Gabby Sue - selfish to the nth degree towards Casey! The ending was clearly added in to appease the Dawson fans who were so outraged by the season 6 finale, and the showrunner said he had begged Monica Raymund to come back to film these scenes. Let's hope she is so busy in future that Dawson can't make any more appearances in Chicago Fire.

Gabriela "Gabby" Dawson: Love her, hate her

You and a LOT of other people are also excited for this new season. Excited for this show for the first time in a long time! -
Yay! It sure is but the showrunner, one Mr Derek Haas is clearly hoping she will come back to the show. We are all hoping she won't...EVER! So many of us out here can't stand the Gabby Dawson character and for many of us that character spoiled the show. Please come back to the show. It will be so amazing to see Casey without her henpecking him and generally being whiny spoiled obnoxious and rude. Maybe now Casey can get back to how he used to be until they stuck her to him like a leech!
