  1. It got tossed over jurisdiction. He's currently appealing but in my not a lawyer opinion the dismissal will be upheld. He needs to file in California which is what the contract he signed requires. https://deadline.com/2021/07/donovan-eckhardt-windy-city-rehab-defamation-suit-dismissed-1234674422/
  2. I think she's setting him up for blackmail. She was in a very suggestive position clinging to his hips and legs. Not sure where the camera is/was but totally felt like a set up. have we learned what Sheryl did for a living before becoming an incompetent granny? She seems to gamble online a lot and had no problem turning on Leland ....
  3. The basement in the third house looked like a shabby chic shiplap explosion ... Or maybe just a public service announcement warning against too much HGTV viewing
  4. I'm still stuck on the bride Precious (marrying former college FB player, fertility issues, and tag along mother in law) sticking her tongue in the ranch dressing fountain. Are you kidding me? My grandmothers and aunties would have reached down from heaven to smack me upside the head. Even pre-Covid that's just disgusting and tacky. Definitely a hate watch. Hope there's a second season 🙄
  5. Please tell me that the steak/assorted cow cuts were wrapped in plastic or something before the hall coordinator dumped them in the garbage can and then onto the street to defrost. It's still gross but not as gross as unwrapped meat being handled that way.
  6. I just caught up with several episodes and I'm not sure if anyone is still watching. It feels like fun wacky frivolous tv in the aftermath of 9/11 - this is so ooo September 10th and we've got real stuff to deal with now. Anywhoo, I think Mackenzie needs a therapist. What really stood out to me was how she kept clutching her mom, stroking mom's hair, and was just clutching her like she was afraid mom was going to fall off the planet. And Mom was no better with her manipulations - financial, emotional, verbal - as well as copying her daughter's whole style that I really wonder how she was raised. Also, why is no one talking about the real reason that Dad won't show up? IMHO dad is a big old racist. But that's just me. Kudos to Mackenzie on picking a seemingly solid partner who supports her even in her quest to become a reality star. lastly, does anyone else think Korrey's mom (she of the sour face and bad attitude) told her she had to show up at the wedding - even though Miss Grumpy Pants was fired - just to get her kid out of the house? I think Mom needed a break from such a vibrant and high energy personality (end sarcasm).
  7. Run Ari, RUN! PS: Helpful hints - next time you move don't give Allison your new address... Or tell her... Just run 😉
  8. Watching Stacey's behavior devolve was sad. I wonder if her sanity will return when she starts eating again. I liked Lonnie as the narrator and LOL'd at Detective Yum Yum. Yes to hiring the wedding planner - he was awesome. Lastly I don't think Coco threw granny under the party bus with the booze - she may not have brought it or smuggled it in in her bossom - but she looked like a lady who knew how to have a good time. I wonder what kind of hijinks she and her friends got up to in the good old days. 😉
  9. Inspiration for tonight's hood? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Energy_dome
  10. I cringe anytime she gets near an antique. I just know she's going to do something awful to it - these items have survived centuries only to be done in by Allison.
  11. I'm not a lawyer - and I've never played one on tv - but I have worked as a litigation paralegal for eons. I have yet to see a "but I'm just the talent" argument succeed anywhere in any venue. As a director of the LLC, business partner, and or real estate agent you have a fiduciary duty to your investors and the most basic of those is **knowing where the money is going.** I'm sorry these folks got swindled but I'm sure enjoying the downfall.
  12. I think Misha offers the throw away line that explains it - Ram's medical file says he carries the Epstein Barr virus and that it can be reactivated in space causing illness. Since Epstein Barr is one of the most common viruses it would be unusual for him not to have the antibodies for it. Not sure about the space environment reactivating the virus but the immune system does enough weird things to those of us stuck here on earth that I gave it a pass. CDC article about Epstein Barr https://www.cdc.gov/epstein-barr/about-ebv.html
  13. Anyone else think they're showing brides/footage from the cutting room floor? It's like the episodes are cobbled together in a collection of, "ehhhh" (uncomfortable polite smile, brides and their antics plus some filler B roll. Just me?
  14. Covid 19 can be transmitted via the bottom of shoes particularly from hospital and medical settings. Given how much New Yorkers walk and share busses and subways it's a concern. https://www.webmd.com/lung/news/20200414/cdc-covid-19-can-spread-13-feet-travel-on-shoes https://abc7.com/coronavirus-qa-faq-covid-19/6293285/ (Autoplay warning)
  15. Looks like the homes are hitting the market on Saturday. I wonder if they'll sell them with all the furniture and fixtures. https://www.housebeautiful.com/lifestyle/a29109303/what-happens-to-rock-the-block-houses-hgtv/
  16. I totally agree. At least slap a coat of paint on the walls or let house stager set up a basic standard bedroom. It just looked odd. Maybe she decided to hang with her friend that she never sees instead of finishing the house? Anyway she probably knew she wasn't going to win because her aesthetic is so buyer dependent.
  17. Yep. Pretty sure we're not getting the full story. It sounded like if you invite one the whole family tree and three neighboring forests are going to show up. A friend of mine did a destination wedding and a surprising number of family members expected the bride and groom would pick up the full tab or at least most of it. I asked other friends and coworkers who said they had similar responses/heard similar stories from destination weddings. Also we're focused on the bride saying no but the drama may be in the groom's family and this is their bad compromise to keep the peace between the two families.
  18. My heart broke for Randy when he said, "I'd love to have a child. Who treats their child like that?" (Paraphrasing from memory. He said it quietly to Dianne when he walked off and they were in the hall) Randy you are right and I think you'd be a terrific parent. I've been to several Christian Lebanese weddings and almost all of them had gowns the size of a NYC studio apartment. The exception was an older couple who were widower/widow and had a very elegant black tie type wedding hosted by the bride's eldest son. I got the sense that the weddings and marriages were more about showing off the family's wealth and connections to the new in laws.
  19. Ditto. I also thought it was odd that Amy told them to never return after going through the cleansing rituals but there was the lady leaning against the real estate sign like it was no big deal.
  20. I thought the cake in the back seat was a wedding card collector thingy like the old school wishing wells from the 70s, 80s, and my aunt's basement . Or maybe a cupcake stand if they didn't do a wedding cake.
  21. I've kinda filled in the Ruby/Stan backstory for myself. No idea if I'm right but I'm from the rust belt and know lots of folks like them. Basically they worked good blue collar jobs at one of the big factories and were solidly middle class. With ruby's mom leaving her the house they even had a leg up (good school district, hopefully paid off, etc.) On their neighbors. And then the recessions hit. And the political maneuvering which seemed to put money in shareholders hands and left workers behind. The plants closed, the wars ramped up, and the housing market imploded. Likely Stan lost his good paying job with excellent medical insurance and couldn't find a comparable position. Maybe he always wanted to be a cop but stuck with his safe job because that's what folks in his family did and he had a kid with medical problems. (Seriously auto company provided health insurance used to be really good) . The bottom fell out for them like so many people in fly over country. And now we're here.
  22. THIS! Also why has no one lawyered up? I know lots of cops and they're the first ones to tell friends and family you say nothing and call a lawyer - usually with 3+ recommendations on who they consider to be good criminal defense lawyers. Sure if it's their case they don't want people to lawyer up but when it comes to the folks in their life it's a lawyer palooza. And no mention of the usual tension between the feds and local law enforcement? Puh-leaze. With a lawyer and a union rep Stan could easily become the poster child for federal agents running roughshod over "good" local cops and disregarding chain of custody/evidentiary protections just to get a bust.
  23. I so hope next week will be the end of delusional bad girl bride's story. I'm not sure I can take another week of her clueless I'm a celebrity nonsense. The dueling cousins also seem like spoiled brats and I felt like we weren't getting the whole story. I hope the hairdresser/wedding planner/bride's grandma's bff has recovered. With no budget info and such apathy from the bride it's hard to judge the wedding. I thought it looked like a nice casual wedding on a budget. Nothing wrong with that.
  24. I actually gasped when I saw that. It was gorgeous as is but I could see it in an ivory color way as a bridal gown. Just stunning. Hope the student creator designer continues to design such lovely pieces.
  25. It's possible the house is under contract and still hasn't closed for whatever reason (the buyer's stipulated X months until they take possession or sell their existing home, modifications they want made to the property, or issues that popped up during a thorough inspection that need to be addressed by Allison and Donovan, etc). Or it could be the usual real estate sites haven't gotten updated deed transfer info from the city/county clerk's office. I do appreciate that the show is pretty straight forward about overages, sale/no sale, and the like. I think they'll break even on this one or walk away with a very small profit.
