  1. I think his chocolate fountain bit was just being humorous. But if there are issues, it's not a long flight from Madrid to Salzburg, Austria...where he can learn how to solve a problem like Maria. "I am 25, going on 50...."
  2. Buffalo to Madrid: Mr. Chill was awesome. Some wit and amazingly managed to be a somewhat unique character for House Hunters without being annoying. A very nice change of pace. (I'm still pissed at that Germany/ghost/charm/fake drawers moving abomination that was typical HH at its worst, and I only saw the last 7 minute of the episode.) In a different direction, that realtor cracking the whip made my mind wander....
  3. Yep, a lot of producer written BS lines in that episode. They were portrayed as moving to a simpler life in a small town, but they were already from a tiny town. Lawrenceburg, TN, has a population of 14,000, relatively in the middle of nowhere. Trying to escape the grueling 3 minute drive to McDonalds? They moved to Palmerstown North, about 6 times as big at 85,000. As a Texan, I'm almost certain his accent was Hispanic. I thought they were fine, just a victim of HGTV's typical canned phoniness. Hope they enjoy NZ, I'm a little jealous.
  4. I sure hope tonight's South Dakota couple were just trying too hard when the camera was on, she was quite annoying. Felt sorry for the nice realtor.
  5. "Aarhus, in the middle of our street Aarhus, that was where we used to sleep" Denmark entrepreneur needs to refine that exerbike-food blender idea, the placement is psychologically disconcerting. Too close to how the SquattyPotty unicorn makes ice cream....
  6. Obnoxious Philly couple to South Africa: I couldn't stop laughing at the stunned faces of the realtors reacting to all their tacky utterances. Giant "Effing Millennials" thought bubbles. "Paper or plastic?" "Well since I sacrificed my career to come here..."
  7. Hawke's Bay, NZ: Wow, gorgeous landscapes! I tuned in late, did they ever mention what actual town or area they were at? Because Hawke's Bay is the NZ equivalent of a state, about the size of NJ or MA.
  8. NYC to Lisbon: Hmm, perhaps she's going to market her bed and breakfast to French clientele, given the after shot of her putting up a 'Bienvenue' sign....
  9. Cabo: Wow, just $200K for the awesome view and the rooftop? What's the catch? Bucerias, Mexico (aka Puerto Vallarta): Hate to say it, but all I could think about was that NJ mom who turned herself into burnt toast.
  10. Puerto Vallarta: Pretty funny when the community pool turned out to be a bird bath.
  11. Denia, Spain: She - "If I could describe our life in one word, it would be: (?somethingsomethingsomething?)" He - "I need to learn what that means, but I agree." Lulz
  12. Does the Montana Home-Dream Home series go here? 1st episode isn't over, but I've concluded it is best to watch it muted. Was curious if that floor that was half below grade had any moisture issues. Anyone able to get past the inane attempts at humor?
  13. Philly episode: All the silent catty looks from realtor Penelope Witherspoon were perfect.
  14. Oh COME ON, HGTV! The Midlands are, ya know, towards the middle of England, not way down south of Bath where your intern marked it on the map. "This feels like a suburb of Dallas." Such BS. A shame they listened to the producers' advice: "Disagree about everything, complain a lot. Wife, frequently express how things like windows, stairs, and paint color will kill your children. Husband, say how that adds charm and the Euro experience you are seeking." Husband seems to be a graduate of the Reynolds Wolf School of TV Fakeness.
  15. Houston episode: Lulz at the realtor being the host of the Chevy commercials.
  16. They left the poor cameraman stuck on the 'collapsing' deck. They made it better, but it was still shaped like a bricked in mobile home. Kept wondering if they could have added a detached garage. Could make the house look bigger and less bleh.
  17. Love the Alicante episode and any from the Spanish coast (and yes, it really can be that affordable.) Wish the producers could have been more creative with their script than having Rich Eisen endlessly pretending to care about the budget.
  18. This San Juan Islands, WA episode was just stupid, even by HGTV's low standard. "We are looking for a vacation home" so the first house he shows them is 5 minutes from their home (yeah, they are going to rent it out much of the time, but still.) Second house was a goofy yurt with the bathroom in a separate building. "And this island is not served by a ferry, you will have to swim to get to it." "Oh goody, this will provide us with the sense of adventure we've been seeking!"
  19. Texas to Auckland, I really felt for the young lady whose mom had died at just age 35. So unfair. Really felt raging hate for the producers who had to milk that into 20 mentions in the episode, along with constantly repeating all the hokey quips ("In Texas we go big or blah blah blah.") If not for the producers, this show could be really good... Also, I'm pretty sure you can't move to NZ full time without either a job in certain govt defined occupations, or investing at least $850,000 US in NZ bonds or companies, or a NZ spouse. So was she on a 6-month vacation?
  20. Austin: That realtor was great. And "I guess I'm going to have to find her a house with a...soul?" brought the lulz. The lake view 3rd house really was a good value for that area.
  21. Speaking of producer driven, I'm not sure there was a genuine sentence in that Boston to Sheffield episode, everything sounded like bad acting or ticking off all the 100 catchwords they were given. His obnoxious remarks towards the realtor were not enjoyable tv, ended up muting half of it. Edit: Wow, what a contrast! MD to Costa Rica episode was HH at its best. Interesting family, gorgeous houses, and incredible scenery. "What blood type?" "I'm be positive..."
  22. So that guy wants to buy a house in Italy for 1 Euro but decides there is just too much to renovate. Such an unexpected development! Then buys one for $15k, budgets $5k for renovations, ends up spending $90k, and a year later it still isn't done. One of the shows bigger idiots.
  23. This. Though some of her hair styles can be distracting, otherwise I'm loving this show. Like the Gaines, they remind me of the people I grew up with back home. Creeped out by the bats. They can carry rabies, and can even potentially bite people without them realizing it. Unlikely, but just knowing that there's a risk of that....
  24. We only tuned in for a minute but busted up laughing. Assumed the taxidermy thing was just a producer encouraged euphemism ("He's really into mounting and stuffing...") Speaking of producer driven phoniness, in tonight's San Angelo episode one of her wish list talking points sure seemed totally legit: "He's in the military and so we move every 2 years. We don't have any children but I want 4 bedrooms now because someday we will...."
