  1. I can appreciate Korto seeing Kara Saun as a role model, but not going on about "the first black woman on Project Runway." It was season one. Everyone there was the first --fill in the blank-- on Project Runway. Just like Wendy Pepper was the first certifiable villain on Project Runway. Was it the actual Post Office challenge that you love, or just the surreal weirdness of seeing Austin Scarlett modeling Robert's outfit because his model wasn't there? I am sad that apparently no one thought to pay even a brief homage to the late, great Swatch.
  2. I'm either really old or a real cinemaphile since I instantly recognized what you meant, but still, I mean, "Max" could be the German Shepherd I had as a kid, Mad Max, Skinemax Cinemax, a Supermax lockup, Sigourney Weaver's character in Heartbreakers whose name is never actually uttered, or a thousand other Maxes. HBO, however, is one of a kind. Iconic. Really foolish to jettison it like so much flotsam.
  3. So today was the big "Max" rollout (so stupid, IMO; HBO is a much more recognized and respected brand than 'Max' could ever be). Things I don't like at first glance: the name change and the color change from purple to blue makes me sad, the ability to customize my avatar with my own photos instead of choosing from their preselected images is gone, the sidebar where I could easily access the network hubs now requires scrolling down the page and then clicking endlessly to the right, and the watchlist is back to not being sortable (shades of Netflix). Hoping that some of these things are quickly resolved. What I do like is that they've apparently already folded Discovery+ into the service, and if all the shows I currently stream are there, I can let my Discovery+ subscription go.
  4. I've never seen one on my Roku app, only a "more" button on Amazon.com. And even there the only options offered are to watch the trailer or hide the movie from Continue Watching. Not sure what kind of editing you're looking for. My understanding is that if you resub within nine months, your account settings including watchlist remain intact. We cancelled for about seven months and went back and everything that the service hadn't gotten rid of was still there. Still pisses me, off, though, that they've stopped allowing users to sort their own damn playlists. Half the time I have to use the search function to find what's in my list. Might be time to unsub for a few months again.
  5. Being a cable network, they don't have a broadcast license. Those are only for OTA channels. Couldn't agree more. I don't mind John doing deep dives into topics nobody else spends much time on, but come on, they need to be of interest to more than ten or twelve people. Save those stories for very slow news weeks. OTOH, it could be argued there's always going to be something topical to push a feature story off the main, so they might as well run what they planned. But anecdotal tales of a few obscure people who apparently benefited from psychedelics are not why I waited months for this show to come back for a new season. Maybe make the show longer than half an hour so they can do current events justice. It's HBO, after all.
  6. So if Andy Reid decided to retire, would KC give Bieniemy the HC job?
  7. Negatory. Only the Pats in that division have been to the big game in the last 20 years.
  8. I'm not looking it up either, but offhand I'd say the NFC South (Saints, Panthers, Bucs, Falcons) and the NFC West (Rams, Niners, Cards, Seahawks). Do I win?
  9. I remember that effing game. But I go way, way back. I prefer to remember the only Giants highlight of the entire decade, a 62 - 10 walloping of the Iggles in 1972.
  10. They've been ridiculous since the Calvin Johnson catch no catch controversy. It shouldn't be that hard, but it is, and it's become like trying to judge the finer points of a triple axel.
  11. I for two. Sometimes results occur, in sports and in life, that one does not like. That doesn't make them rigged. Maybe the Eagles should have figured out how to hold onto a ten point halftime lead? Or how to punch the ball into the end zone instead of settling for field goals? Or how to get to Patrick Mahomes, even once?
  12. Yeah, I understood you were talking about your sister. I used the generic you instead of she. I was going to edit it but then they closed the thread right behind me. So what was her basis, having no understanding of football, for deciding the officials' calls were ridiculous?
  13. If you don't follow football at all, what would give you a reason to think it was rigged? If you don't follow football, do you understand penalties, or the elements of a completed catch? What else was there of even the slightest controversy?
  14. WTF is the matter with Terry Bradshaw? "Waddle over here?" "You're getting up there in years; are you going to ride off into the sunset?"
  15. All I know is that the Chiefs were left for dead at the end of the first half and now they've won the SB.
  16. That's what immediately came to my mind. He tried to stop and his momentum pushed him into the end zone.
  17. Very weird, although completely understandable, to see a team deliberately trying not to gain yardage.
  18. That defensive holding call might be the ball game.
  19. Is that what happened? I was checking my remotes because I thought I'd hit something accidentally! Chiefs need to slow it down, now.
  20. After all the successful rushes on third and fourth down, a two point conversion seems like nothing.
  21. It was a takeoff on Viagra-type commercials, but for an electric truck.
  22. Heh, don't tell KISS he's a rock star.
