  1. Doink. Not what you want to see in the SB.
  2. The "outtakes" were so predictable, I thought the whole thing was scripted. Rakuten, the former E-bates, is actually fairly decent. I don't use it much these days but back in the day I got some nice rebates.
  3. I wouldn't read too much into one drive. Yeah, that lame T-mobile ad wasn't totally scripted.
  4. Because I don't do Super Bowl parties, I'm going to have the tuna fish half sandwich left over from lunch.
  5. Does anybody actually think about that stuff when they're on the field, or do they play the way they've been coached? Especially since it wasn't the Chiefs who whined, but the Niners.
  6. So how much does your donut cost after they pay Ben Affleck and the NFL?
  7. Didn't they just used to have a small bug in the upper corner? That was better. Tom Brady and who? I don't even know what that means. Have you not watched this season? They have been the lead team for Fox ever since Joe and Troy sailed off to ESPN-land.
  8. It is indeed Glendale. Ten minutes from my house, and somehow I've managed to avoid every molecule of pregame hype including all of it today. Rumor has it there's a game today.
  9. I thought the original plan with TNF was that every team had to play on Thursday exactly once, and that the ideal schedule was to do it coming off your bye week. In case there was ever any doubt that players are cattle, albeit extremely well paid cattle, this stupid idea proves it, once again.
  10. If you can stand the ads -- and to me, they are less intrusive and shorter than other streaming services -- you can find an amazing number of titles from all different genres and countries. For a while I was hooked on MasterChef Australia. And one night I had an itch to rewatch A Few Good Men. The few commercial breaks were actually welcome. Not bad for a free service. My cable subscription includes a premium channel bundle of HBO, Showtime, Starz, Cinemax, and Epix, but not Paramount. I don't receive itemized charges for each premium service, just a bundled rate. The cable company has already jacked up subscription rates this month. So I'm wondering if they are more likely to take Showtime away or give me Paramount, and whether either of those changes would result in a rate adjustment. I find the best place for art house films is at Kanopy, through the library. They tend to have a lot of the Criterion and A24 type films. Also many of the Great Courses which do not count toward your monthly watching total. Although with as many library cards as I have, it's not too hard to manage the monthly limits.
  11. Not *my* favorite team. 😉 Eli Manning 2, Tom Brady 0. Forever.
  12. Isn't that also because those All-Star games are played mid-season, and therefore All-Stars who will eventually be part of the championship finals play? How Pro is the Pro Bowl when many of the best players, those who helped bring their team to the Super Bowl, aren't there? And all the players are just plain tired after a 17-game schedule, maybe more with playoffs. Mid-season All-Stars are still in fighting form. That, and the fact that the Pro Bowl has always been a sanitized version of an actual NFL game. Nobody plays any kind of exhibition football game at the intensity NFL fans generally want. Why, exactly, is anyone not named Brady or Bundchen interested in why somebody else's marriage broke up? I'm not a TB fan, am not impressed by supermodels, and the amount of money either one of them makes is positively obscene, but their marriage/divorce is their own damn business.
  13. It's the Revenge of Colin Kaepernick...
  14. Golly, let me think why....thinking hard....oh, gee, why would she have wanted the Iggles to win...heh heh...
  15. Do you suppose this will quiet the conspiracy theorists, or do morons just need to moron?
  16. TB signed with Fox in May 2022. Greg Olsen signed with them in July 2020.
  17. Oh, sure, remind us that every damn time Dall-ass was on in Romo's day, the network had to run about a hundred honey shots of Jessica Simpson. Thanks so much. Which reminds me, I missed the hundred shots of Jerruh crying in his crypt. If they'd won, our eyes would have been bleeding from all the angles of that dessicated skeleton they'd have shown.
  18. Well, considering there have been 266 popes, it's not really a meaningful comparison. Now if he said that Cleveland has had more coaches than there've been popes, I'd be impressed.
  19. Works for me. I wanna see Cincy get a third bite at the SF apple.
  20. Boom! So much for the hook and lateral. Buh-bye, Dall-ass!
  21. He got all those rave reviews in his first season, and it went to his head. But remember, CBS desperately needed to get Pheeel Simms (We loved him as a Giants QB, but you gotta admit he was deadly in the booth) out of the booth. FOX has no such need with Greg Olsen. Greg Olsen is really good at this, and I can't remember once wanting to throw something at the TV because of something he said. He doesn't make the game all about himself or making himself look good.
  22. I loathe three guys in the booth. It didn't work with Gifford/Meredith/Cosell, and it hasn't worked in all the decades since. And how long do you think TB12 would tolerate being 1/3 of the team or 1/2 of the color team? Do we even know if Tom Brady is any good at color commentary? They've tried quarterbacks before who were complete duds, all the way back to Johnny Unitas and Sonny Jurgensen.
