I'm here, and at least the live thread will help me get through this season. After all, it was the only part that made most of Season 5 bearable.

I think we’ll get Oliver/Diggle/Laurel in 801 and 802. Then Oliver/Thea in 803. And they may start setting up Laurel/Dinah as close friends/allies or whatever for the spinoff at that point and then Laurel will be part of the everyone who has ever even tangentially been DC-related team-up for COIE.

Wow, the write-up at the beginning of least favorite episode. The bias is showing. That was unnecessary. I may actually pay attention to (as in if it pops up on my Twitter timeline or I stumble across it, I’ll read whatever it is) whatever he does in the place of Best Pairing for Season 8 just to see how he tries to get the result he wants.

Thing I never needed to hear on Arrow: pretty bird. Also, I just don’t think it fits with E2 LL, as in she wouldn’t want anyone to call her that, so why include it? To make a small group of fans happy? I hope it’s nothing like those fans want and I highly doubt it’s going to be any Oliver saying it.

I think that was just for crisis? I doubt they’d hold back news of EBR appearing in S8.

I know it won’t be the case, but my first thought was Laurel following Oliver and Diggle around, them not really inviting her along, and then the “you can’t sit with us!” from Mean Girls.

Watched the trailer. All I’ll say is it’s very action-y. (Albeit, I watched it on my phone and probably missed a lot of it.) Actually, it’s been about 7 minutes since I watched it, and I can’t remember most of it. Probably says something about it. Also, if 809 is the backdoor pilot for the spinoff, and if any of it is about grieving for Oliver, will they honestly expect me to care about Laurel and Dinah then? At all?

Ugh, not excited about the spinoff. And definitely hoping there’s nothing like either Dinah or Laurel taking Mia under their wing. Doubt I’ll watch.

I've said it before, but I just don't want them to write to the people still there, i.e., don't expect us to care as much if we see Dinah, Rene, Laurel, even Diggle (especially considering how much he gave up on Oliver and his family at the beginning of Season 7) mourning for Oliver assuming the future isn't changed and he "dies" — and don't even get me started on anyone on another show, even Sara — as we would seeing Felicity mourning her husband, even if she knows he's only "dead" and she'll get to see him again. Also, I really hope they don't plan on suddenly making Oliver's bonds with everyone left appear to be so strong that they'll be so upset when he's "dead" — especially considering what we've seen from Dinah and Rene in the future. I just don't have high hopes for 809 (or maybe even 810) if they don't get EBR back, don't change the future, and expect us to care about those left behind after Oliver's "death." (I won't even entertain the idea of so much being changed after COIE that Felicity's presence/absence won't matter. I at least trust that Olicity will get a happy-ish ending, whatever that may be — the writers seem to think reuniting after 20 years apart is perfectly fine after all they suffered prior to that — together, with EBR or without EBR around.)

True. That just made me think of the Oliver-Felicity-Roy love triangle that never happened, with this version being GA (Robert)-Moira-Arsenal (Malcolm).

How about Malcolm as GA and Moira as BC? (And the only GA/BC pairing of the season on any Earth/in any timeline/etc.) But they’re a bit dark (because I love that side of Moira).

It’s not just the name of the character. It’s also about KC. E2 LL could once again turn evil in an episode in S8, kill an entire city of people, and there will still be people saying she’s the best BC. (I don’t think this will happen. But I’m just saying it could and some people would still bend over backwards to defend her “right” to be BC.) Also, I’m pretty sure she’s still going by Black Siren (I think I saw that in the caption of the 801 photos?), and I only want that to change if they go the comedy route and have both her and Dinah respond to “Black Canary” during a fight, pause, not know what to do ... and then screw up, to be honest only because I still find it ridiculous that a Canary Network exists in the future and that will never change mainly because of how many BCs we’ve had in the present.

This comment from SA just makes me think of the script page and how different it was from what ended up on-screen for that first meeting. I sometimes can’t help but think about how they have a great love story for Olicity from the very beginning without even intending to with her first episode.

Yeah, I’m not particularly looking forward to more than a couple scenes of Oliver, Diggle, and Laurel (and only partly because of the reaction that’s guaranteed to get from some fans). That dynamic just doesn’t interest me. I also doubt there will be a decent in-story reason for Laurel joining them if it’s not just on Earth-2.

Yeah, this is one of the worst times to do this. (Depending on how they do it. A joke or two is fine, but that’s it.)
