  1. Tarik and Paul probably have clerical or retail jobs, definitely NOT professionals. I bet neither of them makes more than 40K per year. For all the parents who do not allow your kids to grow and do not push them into being independent....remember Tarik and Paul. Paul is obviously dependent on his mother for acceptance and for guidance of everything, even his intimate life. At this age, that's just wrong. They also both, lack manners and a minimum of common sense and human decency. I think Tarik has a little bit of mental delays (cognitive and behavioral). By the way, when I was growing up I had an aunt who would tell me and my cousin that we'd never amount to anything....into our teenage years. Neither of us gave a rat's ass about her comments and we both turned out fine. Cousin and I still laugh about it. Life has a funny way of turning things around.
  2. Because these proposals are encouraged by the production team and are non-binding. They are fake and only done to attract drama/viewers. In the US, Tarik and Ricky will run away from a girl remotely thinking about marriage or getting engaged. In foreign territory, while having vacation sex (not Tarik), they forget themselves and fall for anything. If you add up the real time they were actually together having meaningful conversations, Ricky's proposal was a couple of hours. Even dumb Ricky knows that a ring "don't mean nothing" that it's all being done in the name of quick fame and getting your face on TV.
  3. Darcey knew what was coming. There was a moment when she looked at Jesse's face and she just knew that boy had no good news for her. Darcey has been dumped many times in her life and knows the sound of the card being dealt from the bottom. A crooked dealer will place an Ace or a Seven card at the bottom of the deck and save it for the person he is working with or for himself. At the right time, and under the right distraction, the dealer will then use that card, but an experienced player will hear the sound the card makes as it comes out of his hand. The sound is just different. Darcey knew. I actually liked that...that she spotted the deception in the quasi-nice tone of Jesse asking her to go elsewhere for the sacrifice of her left over dignity.
  4. There's no protocol or etiquette when it comes to miscarriages. The Human and Decent thing for Paul to do should have been to care for the mother lying there in front of him and then conduct his investigation later. It's not like the doctor is going to forget what happened. I think his words were "Is the baby dead?". That is so wrong, I almost turned off the TV right there, but something tells me that secretly, he was jumping with joy on the inside because he didn't want to be a father and really doesn't love Karine. Karine breaks my heart because she doesn't love that manchild and is only with him to escape the crushing poverty in which she and her family live.
  5. The hospital privacy rules in other countries is much more relaxed than in the US. Also, they are less litigious places, where lawsuits are rare, almost non-existent.
  6. That was a calculated move by Abby. She's a pro. Sean was the one with disposable money and crazy enough to actually marry her. Sean is the one she can and WILL manipulate into getting her to the US. Bringing the other guy creates the perfect anxiety that will make Sean "raise up". Calculating people do this all the time, but a professional prostitutes who has seen this done and has probably done it at a lower scale, can do it in a way that raises little suspicion. This isn't coincidental, quite the opposite and everything but. I also believe that Abby has the ambition and the brains to go very far in life. Darcey on the other hand has had many opportunities and choices in his life, but until she auditioned for the 90 Day team, was and still is a desperate housewife in search of who knows what. Darcey doesn't want a father for her daughters, she sells all that shit to gain acceptance from their daughters, to see if they are OK with her choice. But Jesse was just a pretty boy that Darcey wanted to screw. A real woman with two daughters may have a discreet fling but is super careful who she lets inside her house. Darcey is so caught up in herself and what she wants that she's forgotten all about common sense and who her primaries should be.
  7. Do the math for the production company. They pay for Jesse's ticket and two nights at a hotel. That's 2K. They just need to sell one 30-second spot at that primetime hour to make 50 times that much. Darcey is a mess and they know it but their misery, Karine's misery of losing a baby, and the verbal abuse that the participants put one another through. That is what sells. The only funny part to this is that Ricky and Tarik keep doing dumb things and the producers are loving it. After a while, it's the same formula, the same food presented in a different plate. Angela is the new Nicole. Darcey also has a bit of Nicole and that other lady who married Muhammed. Look at all these couples, NONE of them has a chance in hell of having a real relationship based on trust and openness. By the way, I thought Darcey was middle class or upper middle class, but she's broke and only plays "acting rich" with expensive cars and expensive looking clothing. If this woman is not "in" with all the BS and isn't following a script, she's going to have serious psych trauma, not only for what she's going through, but what she's putting her daughters trough. I tune in every season thinking that they will have at least one serious couple who's in it for love and not for the camera and spurious notoriety, but I'm always disappointed.
  8. Well said Drogo. TLC and Sharp Entertainment will allow shooting of a person or an animal if it causes ratings to go up. This series is a cash cow for them. It's amazing that people still tune in to watch these people basically making a fool of themselves. Men proposing within a week and waiting for sex like dog waiting for a treat. The whole with the loss of the baby was handled very poorly. Can you imagine having a camera in your face while a doctor tells you that your first child has no heartbeat? Some of those scenes could have been edited for decorum and dignity's sake. But, oh the contracts they signed. None of the participants care for their families or their children. Picture the bullying that Darcey's daughters are going through.
  9. I disagree about women staying away on account on him being short. I assure you, there’s something else. In this day and age with so few eligible bachelors, this guy must have a big strike against him. Bad breath. Cheap bastard who insists on splitting the check. Clinical problem affecting his manhood. Or maybe he doesn’t know how to use it. Anger issues. Fear of intimacy. There is definitely something there. I bet.
  10. Tom, I corrected myself on a recent post and noted that my intent was to highlight the role of psychiatric disorders in the series. I own an old copy of the DSM but let's remember that this forum and these posts are for leisure and entertainment purposes and not to be critiqued with such academic rigor. It so happens that bipolar and autism in general are some of the most common disorders familiar to the world at large. Thanks for pointing that out.
  11. Now, did Carrie have to screw Dante? Was it necessary? I'm thinking of her thing with Brodie and how it started as she "getting to him" and next thing you know, she has feelings for the guy. Carrie is one hot mess of a woman. Let's recap on Dante. Saul helps her see that Dante is playing her and utilizing her to further someone's agenda. She drugs him and invites her crew to comb his apartment. Then she not only moves in with the guy but brings her daughter along and ultimately screws him. I know that girlfriend wants to get to the bottom of Dante (literally) but couldn't she have gone to 2nd base or 3rd base instead? Also, did she have to do him in the living room and risk her daughter running into them? I mean, daughter is in an unfamiliar environment and can wake up scared and try to find Mom, but Mom is devouring Dante like she just came of jail and being loud about it. Carrie?!! Jesus, take the wheel!! Please!!! On second thought, it's been a while since Carrie got any, I guess she was salty and went for it.
  12. No, but the series wants us to keep her psychiatric disorder (bipolar) in the back of our minds, as it aids the plot of the series in how she gets obsessed with certain situations/persons. Not necessarily. Some couples just don't work out in the long run for a number of reasons, not necessarily for lies. You may have a great guy and a great gal and for some reason his clipping of his toenails in public just irks the shit out of her. Or her constantly saying LOL when finding something funny just pisses off the guy. Perhaps one is a devoted democrat and the other loves Trump. You never know but to assume the breakup is caused by one of them being the "bad guy" excludes perfectly good reasons why certain couples end up going separate ways.
  13. I incorrectly grouped bipolar disorder and autism to highlight the inclusion of psychiatric disorders in the series. Though these two sometimes overlap, they are not the same.
  14. Reposted in this wish list section where it makes more sense. ================================================ I would love it if TLC/Sharp can avoid the following cliches in future seasons. 1 - Please stop the whole automatic modeling photo shoot thing. None of them (except poor Pao and Anfisa) make it past the photoshoot because they are not exotic enough or professional enough or connected enough to be actual real models. Please stop! Their infatuated boyfriends may think they are model material, but you know damn well that they are not. 2 - Stop picking ALL losers and pick a couple or two with actual chances of making it. Please pick at least one mature couple that we can root for. 3 - Please mix up the American Male and poor foreign Female dynamic, and pick some American women, preferably NOT wealthy-looking or Upper Middle class like Libby. Just think regular folk. 4 - Pick a couple where the foreigner is a better economic position than the American. I know lots of men and women who have married into wealthy foreign families. They exist. 5 - Stop pushing the "Daddy" agenda on the stepfathers. Those relationships take years to form and producers pushing participants to use those words is just wrong. Notice how they have done it in other seasons/related shows. 6 - Please have more background into the participants. More about their lives back in the original countries, their families, etc. Notice how we know little or nothing about Andrei. In summary, walk away form the cliches and bring some fresh faces and fresh angles to this. I have written about viewer fatigue in the past and the present formula is quite worn out.
  15. Carrie is bipolar and she's also brilliant. A bipolar person can be super caring and at the same time, detach from the she doesn't care about in a matter of seconds. You need to know about Autism and those mental disorders to understand how someone could devote themselves to a task until it consumes them, but also be a loving mother or a great father. Carrie has no malice and all those people (Saul especially know that, despite her methods, she means well) The people who truly know her (Saul, Sister, Max Piotrowsky, Quinn) also love her and sometimes you love someone so much, that you accept them 100% automaticaly and without question, and forgive them over and over. This is also the case of certain mothers and children who they forgive after they have fallen to drug/alcohol addition. You can't just turn off the love you feel for someone just because they piss you off. Even if they do it over and over. You may think that this constant forgiveness just enables the person to continue fucking up, but it's much more complicated than that. Part of you knows that in their heart of hearts, they are good people. By the way, Claire Daines is introducing the concept of Autism not only in Homeland, but also in other movies she is also exec producting (Temple Grandin). As the child of an autistic mother, the parent of an autistic kid and the spouse of autistic person, I know that look in Saul's eyes and I applaud Ms. Daines for educating people.
  16. Many banks restrict their credit cards to only work in a certain city or country to reduce fraud. If that's the cause, David sure knew about it when he handed it to her. That makes him double a scumbag.
  17. They might be friends from college or high school who happen to come from different parts of the world. With the cost of US higher education getting more expensive by the minute, people travel all over to find the best deals.
  18. MamaDrama, you are assuming that Luis came on a K9 fiance visa and that they got married in the US and resubmitted paperwork. I'm assuming that they got married in the DR and that Molly petitioned him as a IR1 (or CR1). Two different scenarios with different repercussions.
  19. They are their father's daughters and one thing I've learned is that self-made millionaires think they know it all and they can pass judgment on everyone and that they have all the answers. They are a pain in the ass to have a conversation with because you feel dumb, even if you are a 45 year old woman with children and a business. Father Libby probably raised his daughters to think they are special and that they are God's Gift to Men and shouldn't marry unless their husbands can provide them with a Mercedes. Poor girls....
  20. The good news is that , from a monetary point of view, a divorce will NOT affect Molly and her business. Georgia is NOT a "community property" state and as such, anything she acquired while they were married and is titled in her name, it's hers and hers only. I hope that white Infinity truck parked outside is in her name. Judges are not stupid and see this thing for what it is. If Luis was working with Molly during this time and Molly acquired 3 or 4 new stores, then Luis will have a case because he directly contributed to the purchase of those assets. Something tells me that her parents keep an eye on her finances and won't let Slick Luis take her to the cleaners. Forgive me, but Molly doesn't strike as smart enough to start that business and fully fund it from scratch. Also, since the marriage was so short, there's no alimony to consider at all. Since Molly is employed, she will have to pay in full for their divorce, but in Georgia, this can be done for less than 2K with an attorney or less than $500 if she does it herself. Luis can make a case for Spousal Support (Alimony) but he will need to spend money hiring an attorney and most likely, the most a judge will award is 6 months to a year of support. Luis only lived in the US for 2 months and he cannot claim that he was used to a certain standard of living and that Molly must now pay for that. It's not that simple. The bad news is that considering how long marriage petition cases take (approx a year), plus the time they were in Georgia while the show was filming, let's assume another couple of months, it will be very difficult, if not impossible for her to obtain an annulment.
  21. I have never touched a woman's fake breast. I do not know how silicone breast feel. I know a doctor friend of mine who dated another gorgeous doctor and quickly dumped her when she got breast implants.
  22. Molly and Luis simply lied. Technically, they shouldn't be on 90DF, but since Molly has "worked" for TLC/Sharp before, she knows about the per diem and other money they get for being on 90DF. TLC/Sharp played along because they created a saleable story line. Molly got her TLC money and she'll probably list Luis as a deduction on her taxes since they were actually married. Molly will also get to travel to NYC and spend a couple of days, courtesy of TLC/Sharp. For Molly, it's a financial win-win though a very poor choice and something that will have a negative effect on her girls. I could see her older daughter (smart for her age) throwing on her face again that she went on vacation and shagged the first loser who show her attention. Also, Molly's leaving the girls with what amounted to be a complete stranger is sure to come up in future conversations in that household. I'm not saying she did it for the money, but definitely for the attention and notoriety such a show gives to her. (reminds me of Darcy/Jesse and the marketing of their businesses)
  23. No man in his right mind gives SO much to a buddy of his for such a prolonged period of time, not even to a real blood brother, without a major reason. There's something there that is making Chris be so generous to David. It just doesn't make sense. Whatever David has on Chris, it's HUGE and I have the feeling that Nikki knows about it also because any other woman, specially a sister, will be up in arms, screaming at Chris WTF is going on between them that he gives David so much. Unless, TLC/Sharp are the ones truly paying -- to create a storyline -- and Chris is just posing. Notice how Nikki was truly pissed off about the sponsor (because it directly involves their name/finances) but she doesn't care so much about all the other money they are "giving" to them. Did anyone else also guess that David's card was going to be declined and that Nikki would come through for her sista.
