  1. In general, I like Yara but she needs to stop telling him to get a new job. He makes enough money so that she doesn't have to work and has enough money to buy $500 hair dryers. I don't get the impression she has a ton of marketable skills herself so she won't be able to bring in much money if he got a lesser paying job nearby. She's also got a pretty darn nice MIL who is willing to step in and help. When my kids were born and my MIL came to "help", I was pretty much taking care of the baby AND waiting on her.
  2. My mom had uncontrolled A-Fib for many, many years. She actually died from the effects of taking blood thinners for so many years. Some of the medications doctors prescribe for patients with hard to control A-Fib has lots and lots of side effects. My mom's had tons and she hated taking it and often wondered if she should just stop since it was doing much to control the A-Fib anyway. I completely get why Eddie isn't taking his. I hope Eddie is able to get his A-Fib under control - it can be a pretty difficult thing to live with.
  3. Although I loathe the doctor scenes with Vicki, I loved when she said that she never wanted Michael or Brianna to get the call saying she had died. Hate to break it to you Vicks but we are all going to die. She also continues to say, "My mom was healthy". Her mom had a-fib for many years and was 83! Give me a break -- that's probably not the picture of health. As someone whose mother died, much, much younger than Vicki's from complications from genetic a-fib, I sort of always knew that my mom would not live to a ripe old age. Losing a parent is tough but Vicki hardly lost her mom when she was really young or something.
  4. I really liked Sonia on the show but I've stopped following her (and the rest of the Season's cast) on SM. This podcast of hers seems like such a cry for attention. She acts like a needy teenager. I'll never understand why adults feel the need to share so much personal stuff like drug use, abortions, etc. with people they don't even know. Haven't they learned how oversharing with the public can backfire? For someone in her line of work, that seems like a mistake.
  5. Couldn't agree more. I thought they were cute together when doing their homeless project, etc. and found their awkwardness endearing on the show but obviously I was very wrong. Now they are both acting immature on SM. Him with the inspirational quotes and her with answering every last thing someone says about her. She even responded negatively to something about him yesterday. Geez -- get a life. Or maybe I just need to stop following them ;) Playing out your drama on social media is teenage stuff. Aren't they both in their thirties?
  6. Thanks for posting this, MsPH. I follow Nick and Sonia on Instagram and they seem really happy to me. I think they are both in it for the long haul and seem to really get one another. Nick, in particular, both sweetly teases and compliments Sonia. I'm happy for them. I liked them all along.
  7. I know I'm in the minority but I am really glad Nick and Sonia are still together. I thought their last pillow talk was really sweet. I think she brings out things in him that he likes. I know I'm a total nerd but I did read the Jamie Otis interview with Nick and Tom and it made me like Nick even more. He did explain the "not attracted" meltdown and it made sense to me. I think he and Sonia have a genuine and funny relationship. He seems to like quirks about her and he did say she was beautiful. They also like one another's families which is a big thing. Also on the same page about kids which is also pretty important for people in their thirties. I think Tom and Lilly are cute but they almost seem like they have something to prove with the constant PDA and talk about their healthy sex life. Tom said things like "it's been a struggle" about his marriage to Lilly while Nick seemed much more positive and upbeat.
  8. I must get some work done but I'm once again I'm wasting time thinking about this silly show ;) . I think both couples are still together. Lilly and Tom are a definite as they were just together over Halloween weekend. I think Nick and Sonia are still together too but I'm less sure about them. They've been upbeat on social media and she's still wearing the necklace (which I also thought was pretty, Jellybeans!) so those seem to be positive signs. I hope they made it work and all the previews were a deliberate attempt to mislead.
  9. I couldn't agree with MsPH more. I don't hate Nick or think he's bad for Sonia. I think they are cute together, actually. When he looks at her, he looks at her kindly, IMO. My husband is an introvert (and I'm a total extrovert) and we've been mostly happily married for 16 years. I do think Nick got overwhelmed by everything and had a very unfortunate meltdown. I could see my husband melting down with cameras and constant talk too. My husband is not into PDA either but he's affectionate in private. I get these things about him now and don't expect him to shout his feelings from the rooftops. He needs time alone to process things. I think since Sonia is an empathetic person and she could learn to understand his introvertedness. It seems he can actually be pretty thoughtful with gifts and actions and things like that. I see a future for them. Who knows, I could be wrong about it all, too. It's so hard to know when we actually see so little of their real interactions with one another. I think Tom and Lilly are cute too but I do see more issues for them down the road. I think she will end up giving up a lot of herself to be with him. She's young now but she may grow to resent him.
  10. Nick doesn't creep me out at all. I think he can be sweet. Neither does Tom but he does seem very judgie mcjudgeball BUT thinks he's laid back. That's a trait that drives me nuts in others.
  11. I looked at Sonia's Instagram and Twitter and I think she and Nick are still together. Nick also seemed pretty excited on social media that decided to stay together. He seems to have a pretty warm relationship with one of her former teachers on Twitter. (I'm big time procrastinating on a school assignment so I'm wasting time on social media.) If they were broken up, I just don't see that happening. I know many don't think they are right for each other but I think they are cute together (Nick's outburst excepted). This may all be circumstantial but Sonia mentioned a new job a while back and it seems it's in Broward County which is where Nick lives. It also seems that her brother felt bad for Nick during the understandable social media firestorm due to his outburst. I don't think if they had broken up her brother would've cared about Nick's feelings. I believe they are in Costa Rica together right now. I like Lilly and Tom too but I think Nick and Sonia have much more in common with what they want out of life. That goes a long way in making a marriage work. I may be giving him way too much credit but I think Nick might be a little different off camera which is why Sonia may have slept with him in the first place. If he warms up a little, I could see them going the distance.
  12. Thanks for the info. I don't really go on Twitter very often. Good to know about the vendetta. When I saw it, I thought holy crap! Sonia could do better than Nick AND Derek, IMO.
  13. Saw on Twitter that Sonia and Derek are alleged to be having an affair. Apparently there have been lots of SM photos of the two of them. Guess Sonia got into it with someone on Twitter last night about it. The person said that Sonia and Nick were having intimacy and communication issues. Not sure if that means they were together until recently. I guess the whole story is on chattsports.net . Who knows if any of this is true!!
  14. Also a little concerned that Tom didn't seem to have any seat belts on the bus, especially for him . I know the buses I ride on always have a seat belt for the driver.
  15. I don't think that either of these couples will make it long term but I think producers have edited out most of the positive interactions between Nick and Sonia and have edited out some of the negative stuff between Tom and Lilly. Sonia and Nick so look at one another sweetly sometimes and they cut out the dialogue quite often when they seem to be having fun conversing with one another. I think Tom and Lilly have had some serious fights but they've never really shown a one. I actually think the most telling thing I saw last night about the incompatibility of either of these couples was on Unfiltered. Paraphrasing but Sonia thinks that a perfect partner is someone she can share everything with and Nick thinks that a perfect partner (or happily ever after or something to that effect) is knowing your partner so well that you don't have to communicate with them after a while, you'll "just know" when something is wrong. Seems like a fundamental incompatibility to me. To be fair to Nick, I think a lot of men, including my husband, would rather not dissect feelings all the time but don't as actively avoid any emotion like Nick does. Tom and Lilly just want totally different things out of life. In credit to her, I think she sees it just as much as he does. I would have thought because she's younger that she would be more in "la la land" than Tom but she's really not. She's definitely sees some long-term issues with the two of them. Way more mature than I thought at first. Also thought it was really telling that Tom said he's not in love with Lilly.
  16. I don't for a second condone Nick's outburst but I think he is an introverted person who may have been pushed to the brink. After seeing Unreal, which I know is fictional, and seeing how producers manipulate things and push participants, I'll cut him some slack. They actually made me smile while looking at their wedding album. His impression of the photographer was funny. I think there is more to their relationship than we've been shown. Once they moved in together, They did too much sitting around the house and "opening up" instead of getting out and having fun. Their trip to Home Depot was pretty cute too from the confessions episode.
  17. My bet would be on the date night or maybe after the tantric thing;). I actually think he may have liked her at the beginning and they did have some cute moments on the honeymoon but maybe their personalities just didn't mesh. His drunken comments about marriage not being work were beyond naive. His tirade was awful and I'm glad she walked out on him.
  18. I can't get Social Media on my work computer but wanted to post that Nick's new MO on social media is that people should not be judging him for any bad behavior until they know the facts. Sonia on the other hand posted an incredibly classy post on Instagram - saying that he didn't say it in the nicest way but the honesty was welcome. I know some don't like her voice but she seems like a very genuine, sweet person. Even if she wasn't that into him, it's got to be hard to hear that. No one wants to be told that someone doesn't find them attractive.
  19. Think Sonia and Nick are dunzo! Just saw next week's preview during Unfiltered of him yelling to the camera that he doesn't like her and isn't attracted to her. Wowza. They can't come back from that, I wouldn't think. I guess it's good that they haven't had sex. Probably make her feel worse.
  20. For anyone in the know--- Once filming is over, if the couples have decided to stay married-- do they continue to live together and live a normal life as a couple or are they required to go back to their pre-wedding spaces and not be seen in regular life at all? I know we've seen lots of photos of individual cast members together but really only on Sonia's bday of couples together (Tom/Lilly and Nick/Sonia). I would think if they had to live apart until the show is finished airing a la The Bachelor, I can't imagine it would be good for a new marriage. Anyone know the rules for these couples?
  21. I believe Sonia and Rachel had sort of a jokey, "that's gross" response. I like Nick on Social Media (dog licking excepted). He's pretty funny. I think that might be what he's like in real life and why Sonia always comments on his sense of humor. Even though they agreed to do a reality show, it would be tough to have people who see you for a few minutes each week say awful or untrue things about you when they really don't know anything about you. I think they are required to be on social media so they can't help but see these terrible comments. Most of his reactions are kind and funny to almost everyone, maybe he just gets fed up sometimes. Just my two cents. I think they do have a cute chemistry with one another but not sure they'll make it.
  22. Anyone know when the Unfiltered was filmed? If it was filmed toward the end of the "social experiment", it sure seems like Nick/Sonia and Tom/Lilly are still together. They really seem like they've been together for a while .
  23. Did anyone see the clip on FYI of Tom/Lilly for next week? He's kind of jerky about watching her niece for a few hours. I'm sure before he came along, that was something Lilly did to help her sister out. Clip of Nick/Sonia does not give me much hope.
  24. I thought Sonia said $40k in debt with $12 of that on credit cards and the rest in student loans. I would guess Tom's debt is student loans or $ for the bus. I love that Lilly is so young and doesn't have debt.
  25. I totally agree with this. I think he's aware of the cameras and shy with affection anyway. He has said multiple times that he finds her attractive/sexy. He also told Jamie that he liked her "assets" in their Unfiltered interview and he knew what she liked about his body. I don't think Sonia is large at all. Her photos on Instagram are very flattering. I think they are both cuties.
