  1. It doesn't make sense to me to have a show called, "The Conner's", center on Jackie Harris. Unless they change the show to, "The Jackie 3.0 Show." IMO, they need to agree on a genuine ensemble cast to make it work. The point I was making, in a prior post regarding 8 Simple Rules, is that it's a good example of how a sitcom can continue after the loss of a fictional character in the show to death (if that's what happens to Mrs. Conner). I love to see character development and if death is the storyline, it opens up a new dimension for the actors. As tragic as John Ritter's death was, the scenes of his character's daughters dealing with his loss are some of the best in my memory. I was completely in it to see Katey Sagal's portrayal of becoming a widow, too. I know John Goodman could certainly bring it on, too. I'd like to see him lean on Jackie for part of his support system* and Jackie showing her strength as the one they rely on. *I thought of the show, Mom, and the friends in the AA support group. Dan could meet some interesting folks in a Widowers group!
  2. Remember when John Ritter passed away near the beginning of season 2 of 8 Simple Rules? They were able to continue as a sitcom for 2 seasons, so it can be done. Roseanne simply couldn't be extubated after surgery and died. It happens everyday, and it's horrible. Although, I like the idea of her joining Jerry on the boat with no communication, too. I'm eager to see where the writers take the Conner's. It's going to be a long summer... Aaargh!
  3. I'm so happy, so excited, and so hopeful for The Conners!
  4. I love your whole post and the poll at the end is the best! I think the 3 Most Awful Little Woman LA are: 3) Elena* 2) Crusty 1) Terra *(Dis)Honorable Mention: Mika, because her status as "A Friend of," doesn't allow her to tie 3rd place with Elena, IMO. You've sharpened my perspective on pranks. I've never cared for them either and you hit the nail on the head why. Although Roseanne 's Halloween "tricks" may be an exception, and fun-spirited April Fool's Day pranks, too.
  5. I've kept Angels in Chains on my dvr until I could sit down and watch it. It's such a great episode! I was 9 years old when the first episode aired, my sister's were 12 and 14. My oldest sister immediately cried out, "I'm Jill!" My other sister quickly snapped, " I'm Kelly!" I was left with Sabrina, a beautiful woman and the biggest star of the show at the beginning, but there was no competition, looks-wise, with Farrah and Jaclyn in the room. I was immediately smitten with Farrah, and the show. Kelly's wearing the cutest sailor's halter top at the end of this episode!
  6. I think Crusty is second guessing the decision to pass up, what is probably, a free surgery. It's too bad she didn't seriously try and lose weight the old-fashioned way. That could be fascinating reality tv. Knowing that the New York franchise has been cancelled, and I think Dallas is too, while I watched the Atlanta season end on a positive note, there was a sense of closure for that franchise. I find myself watching LA for signs of series closure, too. Crusty's "troubled" marriage seems to be a desperate attempt at a spin-off or a reason for one more season of LA. Elena 's so over the manufactured drama and I think Tanya's tired of it too. Terra's always up for the challenge of balancing the tightrope of friendship and business and Mika seems to be too, but came to the game too late because I think this is the final season of Little Women shows. I don't think American women want to watch women, big or little, rich or middle-class, fight and tear each other up. I think these Real/Little, Housewives/Women shows are coming to an end.
  7. What's wrong with me that I feel absolutely nothing for sobbing Crusty and her miserable little marriage?
  8. I haven't read the book, although I intend to, and I love to watch serial dramas, like this, as if they're a book. I'm smitten with the actress Robin Weigert and intrigued by her character, Verena. Plum references the Winchester Mystery House when Verena takes her to the auditorium, explaining upon her acquisition of multiple properties on the corner block, they expanded the buildings and Jake couldn't stop renovating the buildings. I've been to the Winchester House as child but couldn't think of what it's relevance would be here, until I googled it. Sweet payoff! Of course, the Winchester House is that of Sara Winchester, the widow of firearm magnate William Wirt Winchester. It was believed to be haunted by the souls of the lives that had been taken by Winchester Rifles. There's so much to talk about, I hope interest picks up.
  9. I think of this reboot as a new series of it's own, I here the actors and writers are getting a foothold onto the characters they're playing and writing for. In this case, I am so hopeful for and Andy and Jerry to be brought to life. I'm also hoping the show becomes a true ensemble cast, like Friends was. I read that even though some of the writers have committed themselves to writing for a pilot of a new show, they're willing to write for both.
  10. I agree with everything you've said and it's not the worst thing in the world if it is done for good, but a lot of people are attached to the characters, the stories they have to tell and the cast, as well. I'm just adding my 2-cents of a Roseanne without Roseanne.
  11. I know I heard on one of the news entertainment shows, Page Six I think, that Roseanne was working with her lawyers to change her contract so the current cast, writers, etc. could keep their jobs. I'm hoping that means she wants to be released from this reboot.
  12. Ensemble Show, that's the ticket!
  13. Don't sitcoms usually have up to 6 main actors carrying a show? John, Laurie, Sarah and Lecy are the 4 adults, maybe the kids could be secondary (like they were in Everybody Loves Raymond), leaving room for additional adult characters. I love the next door neighbors, Darlene could obtain a work friend or two, an old high school acquaintance could enter, and Oh My God! I forgot DJ! His family is so important! Well, there you have it, the cast can be fleshed out beautifully with some more members.
  14. I got sucked right back into the spin-off fantasy! SparklesBitch, you got me started on a daydream of Dan and Jackie having a slow, drawn out, will they or won't they, relationship like Sam and Diane, Niles and Daphne, and Ross and Rachel did. I love those. I want to see Sarah and John play off of each other in their new roles, too. There's so much potential in this show, I need to have it in my life!
  15. I've been a big proponent of continuing the show without her, I was about to suggest she could donate her earnings to charities. Then I thought of something someone had said here, that Roseanne should've thought about who the President of ABC is before she sent her tweet. I had to Google to find out and, Oh, sweet Mother of Poetic Justice! There won't be a continuation of the series.
  16. You know how some tv shows never explained what happened to a former spouse, like Carol Brady's first husband? I would get such pleasure out of (my dream show) "The Conner's" following suit.
  17. The Conner's would be so fantastic! I 've always felt that the reboot really belonged to Darlene/Sara Gilbert anyway. She'll stay in the house with Dan, Jackie could become a Guest Star, Becky would have a bigger role, Harris could be recast... It could be so good. Also, DJ's family could be featured heavily, too.
  18. I was really looking forward to the Murder Mystery Dinner and was so confused and disappointed by the abrupt ending. I think it was taking a lot longer than they expected and production coaxed Dorinda into ending it and get the ball rolling on "the confrontation." It is interesting to see a shift in the friendship pairings: Sonja and Bethenny?! No one wants to hang out with either one of them anymore so they have nowhere else to turn! Ha-ha!
  19. For most of the season I felt that Lisa R. was auditioning for a spin-off, I don't think she'll get it and I don't think she'll be back for another season. If the rumor's are true about a divorce for Erika and Tom, she won't be back either. The petty jealousy that occurs between LVP and Kyle is mildly entertaining and has been an on-and-off storyline between them since season one. If LVP, Dorit, Teddi and Kyle return, Kyle will need a new bestie to align with, and Camille could return as the villain: Ta! That's a nice cast, don't you think? This season was painfully boring, so I'm hoping for some changes to improve 90210!
  20. You're right! I was sure Amanda would show up in L.A., too! I watched Terra's YouTube videos with Mika in them and I really liked her, I hope her fun side is shown soon. I think Elena was really happy being a SaHM, playing with makeup while her sons were napping. Preston is very sweet and seems to be willing to let her do almost whatever she wants with her income. It's too bad she's so scatterbrained and can't see the value of saving her money instead of trying to blow it on get rich quick ideas. Bethenny Frankel busted her hump for many years before coming up with Skinny Girl at the right time and right place, but Elena thinks she can say "Makeup Empire" and it will happen.
  21. Whenever a "friend of" is introduced on LW or RH, you can just see how aggressive some of the women react. What a set up this last episode was for Elena! Don't you think it was, "Elena, you can't just hide at home and send videos out to the cast. Get dolled up because we're going to act trashy at local pubs and VFW halls and New Girl is going to come at you!" It was rather gratifying for some reason. Terra really is full of herself; what is the line between confident and arrogant?
  22. 15 years and me too. The point Ms. Crane was making by using Ms. was that a woman's marital status is irrelevant and is equal to that of Mr. for men.
  23. I love this actress! I'm so excited to see her in this role and DJ needs a strong female character to lean on.
