  1. I really appreciated Mary J Blige's lines about taking a long time to get her act together. It felt genuine, quite possibly because it's real. Annalise would do better if she had actual girlfriends to chat and hang out with. It seems to do her really well. Just like the way Eve brings out the best in her. It's a romantic relationship between them but I see an underlying friendship without which the romance would never be. I missed a few seconds of the scene with Michaela's mother but I saw her profile and heard her mention her daughter. I knew she was familiar! I hope Brett Butler is on the show. It would be great to get more of Michaela's background story - not her love life, but her actual background. I'm looking forward to seeing that.
  2. I don't like him but I don't think liking him makes you deranged . The person I think is most deranged is Sam. He was supposed to be a professional - a doctor and professor. He took advantage of people in his charge. He impregnated his student and had her killed. He rescued Frank from prison only to have him be his hit man. And let's not even get started on Annalise . A broken woman, victim of sexual abuse. Since when is it ok to marry your patient? And then tell her you knew she'd be easy.
  3. Yes, I agree . The show needs a character who's not in the inner circle. Velez plays the character as more than just an antagonist stock character .
  4. What just happened in this episode? The flashbacks gave me whiplash. And now I have more questions than answers.
  5. I'm pretty sure Ice T had his hand in that line. It was funny as hell! The kid's death was totally unnecessary. And I'm surprised/disappointed that Liv is not in tune with Noah's cognitive situation. Reading to your kid helps all children. For a kid like Noah, she should be expecting to do more. The kids who end up in foster care (has she adopted him - can't remember) often have a lot of other issues, and foster parents have to expect to spend lots of time taking them to appointments, getting extra help, etc. This is the case even with many kids who aren't in foster care so why is she so surprised? I really hated the Rollins/Amaro hookup. And you're right, it would make it hard for her to now have something with Carisi. And that's too bad because Rollins and Carisi have such a great relationship, I would be happy to see her get a good guy. And he is totally family oriented and would love to be part of her life.
  6. Yes! I thought that Hudson all of a sudden being this elite school was pretty insulting to those of us who have watched L&O and L&O:SVU over the years. Was that the Columbia campus? Sure looked like it. Wasn't he the weird lab guy on CSI? Yes, it's him: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wallace_Langham
  7. lol @ nice things
  8. Why can't the show give Alex a better story line? Why couldn't Cal Tech be located closer to home so she could drive to class every day and not live in the dorm.
  9. It's technically OK but your parents aren't really supposed to like it lol. Plus, as you pointed out, the fact that Haley is a young-looking 20-something makes the guy look creepy. I can see Claire not having any friends. She's mean and uptight. I think I remember some earlier episodes with her But it's unusual that Phil doesn't have any.
  10. Very true. He's interested in these things but it's mostly his desire to do them as opposed to actually having talent and honing his skills. We've heard Luke sing - that was natural talent, though Manny thought he could the lead in a school play without such talent. We've seen Alex lug around instruments for practice. But how much have we seen Manny work at anything that would help him get into Juliard.
  11. Eve and Annalise are great together. Annalise acts like a normal person with her. They have a real friendship, which all relationships should have. Not the up/down friendship she has with Bonnie (though I like the moments when they act like real friends) or the twisted friendship/relationship she has with Nate. And don't even get me started on her her relationship with Sam. Or even her family, for that matter. Eve is healthy and she brings out the best in Annalise. I don't get the Coliver breakup. The only reasons I can see behind it are: 1) bringing Oliver into the show as a character with his own story, irrespective of Connor - so maybe there will be a new subplot involving Oliver 2) #1, specifically because Connor's under the sheet 3) because the show is bonkers
  12. I agree they can write Eve back into the show. Actually, this show can write in anyone. That's how bonkers it is. Sam was killed in the first couple of episodes, I think? But he was on screen well after that. Annalise's braids, Lila and Wes' mother were all dead before the show started but managed to make it on screen. I agree. Men + Eve. Also, Annalise loves Eve. And Eve definitely truly loves her. Perhaps Nate does, too. But not as sure of his feelings for her as I am of Eve's.
  13. Did Wes say he hates birthdays? I thought he just never had a birthday party. Maybe I missed that. No, no, no. No Wes/Laurel shipping lol. I like them both but as friends. I hated when they kissed and I was glad that he got a normal girlfriend.
  14. I thought she was on the show permanently. Do we know what her status is on the show? It seemed odd to have her in the credits in the first episode of the season. Or maybe that's how it's always done and it just took me by surprise. The actress grew on me somewhat when I watched Graceland because at first I found her to be very annoying. But on this show, I don't like the character. I'm thinking maybe they'll show her coming around and learning to work with a team, eat gumbo, and what not. I wasn't a Brody fan so I don't dislike the character because of that.
  15. I agree about lily's hair. The ponytail is a nice look for her. It takes attention away from her thin hair and frames her face nicely. It's very cute. The "party" was pitiful. The little boy was even more pitiful. It was completely inappropriate for him to be there. I felt bad for him. Nick's friend should have bewn around when Nick said he shouldn't have to work at a relationship because they were matched by "experts." I can't figure out what's up with Nick but I'm glad sonia didn't move back in. Now he says she's attractive and he misses her. Something is up with that dude. If someone doesn't want you around, you don't move in with him and interrupt his doggie makeout session, especially if he offers you the couch. So yeah, Pepper can suck it. She knows nothing.
  16. This show looked like King of Queens in the preview so I held off in watching the pilot. I finally watched and it's similar to KoQ but not as much as I thought. Still, it's just not that funny. There seems to be a big cast. Too many people who aren't great actors. The men are silly and the plot is boring. I doubt I'll watch again.
  17. I think his wife in the show is also average-looking. Even though she's bony, they seem well matched.
  18. I dunno. The guy was a Jerk and I'm not up in the dating lingo. But I don't feel like the episode addressed racismnin the gay community. If he was a heterosexual black guy who was only interested in black women, I doubt people who have an issue with that or call it racism. If anything I think Michaela makes inappropriate comments to Asher about his being white but people seem ok with it. She clearly has an issue being Asher but seems to also not want to be with someone outside her race. But I digress. I wasn't crazy about laurel at first but I've come to like the actress. And I think her character is interesting. I like that she doesn't get easily frazzled. Also think her dad is right about her having daddy issues. I found it interesting to see her interact with her dad. And I'd love to see more interact with people who knew the K 5 before law school. Remember how interesting it was when Annalise went home? I'd like to see more of that with other characters.
  19. Has any mention of Torres' sister been made so made since he first appeared? She was in critical condition but still alive, right? I get that the show is going lighter but the character was the introduced with a tragedy that seems to have been forgotten. I know he's been undercover. But they care enough about each other to have in touch in the first place. She hired someone to find him and he came to warn her. Am I missing something?
  20. She's really dull. I feel like they added her to fill zivas spot but her character is just boring. I liked her quirkiness but she's just plain old meh . When she had the storyline about her cheating husband , I thought she was leaving the show. No such luck.
  21. Well, she certainly had me fooled. I don't mind seeing her in a bad guy role if it means she will be memorable and possibly get more parts. Hopefully they don't have to age her to use her talent.
  22. Yea but her freak-outs are followed by calm, collected moments where she instructs her team. Honestly , I'm not even sure where her pain/freaking out ends and her conniving antics begin. Remember when she was bleeding on the stand? It was real but then it wasn't.
  23. Usually I have some speculation but this time I got nothin'. I honestly don't know what's going on in this crazy show except that I'm still watching lol.
