  1. Just catching up with this show 2 years later on Netflix, and the question of who told the agents that the doctor was an alien may no longer matter. But last season when the government agents were questioning / threatening Max, at some point (can't remember if it was before or after the parents attacked them) one of them was holding a drawing Max had made of the alien in a doctor's white coat. And I think one of the agents said Max told them where the alien was. I seriously doubt that Max gave them Harry's name, so I think the agents drew the wrong conclusion (that the alien was the new/current town doctor) based on the drawing.
  2. I'm 2 years late in reading this forum, having recently started bingeing the series on Netflix, but I'm surprised no one has commented on what Claire will do with the mixed-race baby, or even why Claire didn't mention this issue. They are living in a slave-holding state, and I can't imagine that any of the white settlers on Frasier's Ridge (or elsewhere in that area) would be willing to raise a baby that looks even part-Black. I guess Brianna and Roger could raise the baby, but what happens if they go back to their own time and the baby is not a time traveler? It's not that I expect or even really need to know the answer to this question, but I do question why the writers (or DG) thought to make the race of the baby a plot element here, if no follow-up is intended.
  3. It's weird because, even though I agree with most of your points (especially about Sasha and Nico and about Carol being annoying), I laughed quite a bit...though mostly at the way the ghosts reacted to the situation. I don't like Flower being in the well and agree with @Snow Apple that the fake-out cheapens this story arc.
  4. Is this episode on tonight, Thursday March 7? The State of the Union address is at 9 pm, so I'm wondering if they will replace Ghosts with pre-address commentary.

    Season02.E06

Guess I'm alone here, but I was disappointed in this season and didn't like the ending. I might have been able to buy that Helen didn't need to read the file and was willing to trust Elliott except for one big unanswered question: Did he force women to transport drugs in their bodies, as Lena accused him of? Helen was all about accountability with Ruairi--she made him promise to turn himself in--but she's fine with letting Elliott live a guilt-free life with her despite being responsible for the deaths of those women? And what makes her think they are safe now, especially since she didn't die like Lena wanted? And if Elliott didn't force the women to transport drugs, who did (assuming Lena was telling the truth)--his look-alike brother? But I don't think that's possible because the brother was apparently killed many years ago, when Donal found out his wife was pregnant with Elliott's son. I may also be alone in saying how much I hate Ethan's character taking up space in the story. I guess they wanted to keep him for comic relief, but I didn't find him funny. He was just obnoxious and, in following Helen to Ireland, a stalker.
  6. Dennis Haysburt played the President in 24 aka the allstate guy. this secret service guy is played by DB Woodside. As @Raja said, DB Woodside also played the President in 24, but not until late in the series. He played the Chief of Staff in earlier seasons.

    S02.E01

I was eager to see what they would do in a second season, but so far (first episode) I'm not impressed. I do love the Ireland scenery, but the plot and new characters seem mostly like a rehash of the first season: unknown brutal villains after Elliot for as-yet unknown reasons, cop with weird issues, and worst of all Ethan is back in the story. I'm also not crazy about Elliot and Helen being a romantic couple--I liked it better when she was his friend and ally. At the end of season 1 she just got out of an emotionally abusive long-term relationship, and she also was angry and/or feeling betrayed after finding out that Elliot had apparently done some pretty bad things. Even if she still cared enough about him to send him a burrito emoji, it's a big jump from that to having a committed loving relationship. It would be nice to have a flashback or even some exposition to show how they got to this relationship, but I suspect we are just supposed to accept it.
  8. I hope there will be episode threads for Season 2 here.
  9. It's still ambiguous to me because Jay presumably lives in or near town, and Asta would presumably know where they dropped off the baby. Even if Asta left town right after that, she's been back for at least a few years--long enough to be the nurse at the town clinic. So it would be easy for her to find out who lived at the house where they dropped off the baby. And if Jay has been working at the clinic for a while, there may have been other opportunities to see where she lived.
  10. I can believe that she was 16 when she got pregnant, but she looks like she is just in her 20s--maybe late 20s--now. However, her bartender friend looks older, at least early 30s, despite acting immaturely. So if Asta and the bartender went to school together, Asta is the same age.
  11. My husband and I just found this show on Netflix and are enjoying it despite the quibbles others have mentioned. But we don't know what "taint" means--I'm hoping someone sees this comment and can explain.
  12. I'm confused--why are they doing a Halloween episode at the end of February?
  13. No, it wasn't Robert Picardo, although he was on last night's episode of Young Sheldon. The actor who played Jay's teacher is Michael Caruna and this episode is his only credit on IMDB. Thanks for clarifying. Now I realize that I saw the end of Young Sheldon while waiting for Ghosts to come on, and I must have had Picardo on my mind and confused the faces when I saw the dream scene with the teacher.
  14. And at the end of the basketball dream, wasn't the teacher asking Jay for his homework the actor who played the virtual doctor from Star Trek: Voyager? That was probably also fun for Jay.
  15. I don't know how much we can trust to be true of the LSD memories, including whether he was Kosta's accountant or directly involved in the drug trade by making women swallow heroin for transport. But if he did make women do this (and I hope it's not true because it would be so OOC from his seemingly good guy nature in his behavior toward Helen and Luci) or had to interact with the Russian women in some other way, he probably would have picked up enough Russian to communicate. It didn't seem like he was a native or even fluent Russian speaker. I hope @Ottis is right that the Russian woman was lying, and I agree that your personality should not change just because you lose your memory (aside from being confused, scared, and at least temporarily paranoid). Technically it was Luci (or Victoria as she was called then) who stole the money from Kosta. I think she left the money bag in the motel room with Elliott when she broke up with him in a flashback. Elliott hid the money probably because he didn't know what to do with it. If they hadn't announced a second season, it would have been frustrating not to know if Elliott survives. But I hope that he and Helen eventually figure out what is true about the memories and what the Russian woman said.
  16. Flower wasn't one of my favorite ghosts, but the things they said about her at the memorial service were moving and actually made me teary. As a couple of posters said above, it would be a cheat to have her not really gone after that memorial service. I don't think this was the best episode of the series, but I'm still happy to have it back--currently it is the only regular TV series (as opposed to streaming) that I watch. Unpopular opinion, maybe because I'm old and prudish, but I'm getting tired of the "sucked off" jokes. The writers seem too reliant on them, kind of like 13-year-old boys.
  17. Just finished this and found it interesting but weird. I'm hoping that others will come here to comment.
  18. I haven't reached the end yet (just watched the first episode of Season 3) but have been tempted to give up on this series several times. I may finish now that I'm close to the end, but it is so frustrating! The concept was really interesting, but the writing and characterization have been at best inconsistent and at worst ridiculous. I'm especially frustrated with Laurits, who keeps going back to and siding with the Jutuls even though they have rejected him, threatened him, and tried to kill him several times, especially after Vidar's death. And he blames and betrays Magne even though Vidar was clearly trying to kill Laurits before Magne killed Vidar to stop him from killing Magne. I understand that Laurits is a disaffected youth who wants to feel accepted, but he has a biological mother and half-biological brother who both show that they love him despite his attitude and actions, yet Laurits rejects both of them in favor of people who reject and want to kill him and his biological family. I just wish the writers would show a little more emotional depth or conflict to Laurits. More broadly, I'm frustrated with the Giants' constant threats of murdering Magne and his family since Season 1. They've had multiple opportunities to carry out these threats but somehow never actually do it. I can understand Magne's reluctance to actually murder the Giants, since he is a decent person at heart, but in the episode I just watched when he was threatening Fjor and Ran with the hammer, it was almost laughable to see him smash things and touch their cheeks with the hammer but not actually hurt them. I don't know how much more provocation he needs to do what needs to be done (kill the Giants), but until I read your post I had hoped that he would reach that point by the end of this season. Now I doubt that there will be any kind of satisfying ending.
  19. Thank you! Part of why I was confused about this is that when Nathan's memories were incomplete and/or confused, we (along with Nathan) were getting different interpretations of what really happened.
  20. @Chicago Redshirt Thanks so much for all of your explanatory posts. If there is another season, I will reread them before watching. One thing I am still confused about--or maybe just don't remember what we learned in the previous seasons--is how did Freeyond start and what was it supposed to be originally. Wasn't this originally Nathan's software project that he was working on with his partner/friend? I have a vague memory that the partner/friend betrayed Nathan by selling Freeyond to Horizen--is that right? If it was originally Nathan's project, I think he intended it to be used for good--to offer a real alternative to those who couldn't afford a Horizen upload. But I don't remember what that alternative was--obviously it could not be as nice as Lakeview.
  21. What Nazi paraphernalia was on or around the coffins? My husband and I missed that. Wait, maybe I misunderstood--I thought you meant that it was William surrounded by Nazi paraphernalia, but I'm realizing you probably meant an episode in an earlier season when Philip was walking in a funeral for someone in his family.
  22. Except that they either knew where she was going (maybe bribing hotel staff or other people for info) or waited for her to leave when they knew she was at a restaurant, hotel, or other location, then followed her. Maybe it would helped to wear a disguise (wig, etc.) and go in a plain car, nothing fancy--but she shouldn't have had to do that.
  23. So that's where I've seen him before! I rewatched Dark at least 3 times but somehow didn't realize this was the same actor.
  24. I also liked Ingrid better this season, but I don't understand what Nora said to her to make her willing to testify. And I'm still unclear on why her testimony was so crucial. Actually, I'm unclear on what the overall trial was intended to accomplish. I know that the lawyer (Nathan's ex) said they won because they got a lot of money for the families, but was the main issue in question at the trial? The commercial was great--cleverly written and slickly produced, just like what a real mega-company would produce to salvage a PR disaster. It's annoying that this season was only 8 episodes and ends on a cliffhanger, especially since it will probably be more than a year until the next season (assuming it is renewed). Overall I did not enjoy this season as much as the first two, though the last 2 episodes of this season seemed better than the rest of of this season.
  25. I can't remember why this was supposed to be their last day together and why Nathan had to upload that day. Was it because he expected his head to explode after the 1-month part?
