  1. I have not heard this term before, but I gather you've met my mother.
  2. I've mentioned that I looked into the gastric sleeve. When I told my (very large) friend, she admitted she'd had WLS years ago, lost 100 lbs, but couldn't lose any more. She went back to the bariatric office and was told with that surgery, there was nothing else they could do. They had her try 800 calories a day - she gained weight - so she just gave up.
  3. If Angela had all this weight loss, why wouldn't she go to a bariatric surgeon in her town and get weighed? She could even go to her GP and get weighed. She didn't have to go to Houston if she really wanted to show Dr Now that she'd lost weight. The other doc could take a video or send Dr Now her weight on his/her letterhead, all kinds of stuff to show she really lost weight. So, I'm calling BS on this, though she must have lost some weight if she couldn't fit behind the wheel before and she did at the end of the show.
  4. People have been snarking about sugar free BBQ sauce, but you can actually get it from Walden Farms. They make a lot of sugar free products; can't vouch for the taste, though.
  5. That's what I meant. I like to hear people say it when they mean it - I didn't get that from her at all.
  6. That may have been the point of this episode. I bet a lot of people say they want his help, but aren't willing to make any effort to do the work - even the little work of just coming to Houston for the initial visits. I agree we have another Penny - delusional, rude, and will never lose a single pound that can be proven.
  7. If I kept blacking out, Aliya jr and the church sisters would have me in the ER pronto. How do you decide, 'OK, maybe I'll see a doctor'?
  8. Who the heck does she think she's talking to? And, as much as I like to hear 'sir' from the Texans and southerners, I am really disliking it coming from her. It sounds like she's trying to be polite, but it's really just a cover for whatever personality or moral issues she has. She wouldn't get far with me - and I think Dr Now has had just about enough (channeling James Kirk) of her. Whoa - that accent! Is that really Ohio or is she from somewhere else? I lived in Philly for 10 yrs and it sounds like a Philly/Penn accent. Not very attractive. Hmm - preview for next week - I think Dr Baby Voice has found her match.
  9. As a Wolverine, I'm just gonna say I understand why people in Ohio would want to eat themselves to death. 😃
  10. Another obesee who can't leave their friggin' family. I have no patience.
  11. Mother of Mercy. Aliya jr picks tonight to want to have a family chat. I think it's bad form to tell your only child to get back to you later, but darn. I was.this.close. I've seen the pictures, but had the sound down, so I don't know her back story. She does seem to dress well, tho. Did she used to work?
  12. I have stuff to do and wanted some background so I turned on James K's story. I realize that I watch/listen to these shows over and over - like a 3 yr old who wants to hear the same bedtime story every night for a year. 😃
  13. Whew - I'm actually 'watching' this episode at work. I'll look for Dr Now's reaction because I never noticed it before. As much as I dislike Jeanne, some of us aren't huggers. I lost my husband and I don't know what crying on somebody's shoulder would have gotten me, so... That said, she certainly has shown her selfishness in other parts of the show. eta - I had to watch the end at home. You are absolutely right. And, good lord, if Jeanne doesn't stop shaking her leg. It's so annoying.
  14. Dis is not good situashun. Erica - this woman only has her own interests at heart. You had some great goals - go try and do them for yourself and maybe with another person who really cares about you.
  15. Yeah. That reminds me of Robert & his girlfriend, just waiting those 13 yrs to get married when they were living together, she was acting as a caregiver, etc. "I want to do this so we can get married." You could have done it 13 yrs ago, so shut up. You want what you wanted, which was to eat and be waited on. Good Lord, Dr. Now! Way to handle that excised tissue!
  16. I wonder if she has alopecia? That might explain the wig fixation.
  17. Please, no. I have a hard enough time keeping my intake at a non-600 lb level during Easter season. If I saw them all year, I would be 600 lbs.
  18. Cadbury eggs are a bit of chocolate perfection that only come once a year. Eat them in their pure form as God intended.
  19. "Do you understand me?" Ha. He sounded like my mother. Shoot, I've used that with Aliya jr a few times myself.
  20. You know, I'm starting to think of obesees saying, "Give me weight loss surgery" the same way students talk about the professor giving them an 'A.' No. You earn the 'A.' Nobody is giving you anything. Dr Now is not giving you the surgery, you are earning it by following the program. People who follow the program don't have to beg Dr Now for the surgery. I'll say it again (and may copyright it) Surgery is for winners. And, while I'm here, will these people who don't work, don't take care of kids or the elderly or whatever, tell me how they are stressed? I can't take it.
  21. I agree. I'm snarking here, but I do think that never having left home, being afraid of everything in life, having to travel with a family entourage because everyone else's life revolves around taking care of your humongous self, contributes in some way to their eating problem.
  22. Lord, another group of people who cry at farewells like the obesee is going to do 2 tours in Afghanistan. T.I.R.E.D of these crying people.
