  1. I don't even know how to respond to this finale. It was obvious the judges were pandering to Erin. How many times did we hear the judges throughout the season refer to her aesthetic as a child's art project, then to just turn around and give her the win!?!?!? Nina and Heidi themselves said they wouldn't wear Erin's ugly banana garment -- and that was Erin's 'grand finale.' Oh. Em. Gee. What a disappointment! The contestants were so excited to get $500 extra to go to Mood and all I was thinking was, "What do you expect to do with $500 extra dollars that you couldn't do with the first $9,000? Anyway.... so then when Erin came back from Mood with that Saran Wrap shimmery stuff that she CLEARLY stole from watching Roberi show his 3-piece preview I was convinced the judges would not give her the win. She can't come up with an original idea herself, so why reward her? Everything she makes is a rip-off from someone else. Everything except her glue stick stuff, that is. BLECH..... I'm so glad this season's over. I went in wanting Laurence to win, but I agree that her finale wasn't living up to the potential I knew she had, so I changed my vote to Roberi. I would have been fine with Rik as well. I just didn't want Erin, the design thief, getting rewarded for her thievery and arts & crafts. Just like another poster said upthread, I, too, didn't stick around for the congratulations. I bailed as soon as they booted Roberi. Bring on the PR Juniors. As annoying as those commercials for the cast were by interrupting the regular season's finale, I saw some pretty talented artist. YIPPEE!!!! Hopefully no more arts & craft. My prediction: Chris will be first to go. I can already tell he has an attitude. lol.

    S33: Bret LaBelle

You're not alone. I loved Bret and I, too, wish I could see him and Chris on the Amazing Race together.
  3. Nina must have lost a bet. :0 No way would a person wear such an ugly outfit otherwise.
  4. This. ^^^^^ Again. So well put I have nothing more to add. Right. Now.
  5. That, I didn't know. I liken this to the sharing moment he had with Jay. Revealing his mom's illness to Ken certainly couldn't be seen as a strategic way to get Ken's vote. I think Adam was a man who needed to talk about something weighing heavily on his mind, and so he chose to confide in whoever he felt a similarity.
  6. I missed 2 episodes this season, so perhaps I missed 'Evil Adam.' I do remember Adam having a heartfelt conversation in the hammock with Jay -- who was going through a similar situation -- as well as Adam revealing his mom's illness while being questioned by the jury. Other than those 2 instances, I don't recall Adam discussing his mom's illness with anyone outside of his private confessionals. I don't understand how some people (here and other sites) come to the conclusion that Adam used his mom's illness as a strategy. If that were true, he would have mentioned it early on where it could have helped to buy him time. He had no way of knowing he'd be one of the final 3.
  7. Randall IS entitled. He's entitled to know everything there is to know about every action and every conversation that ever took place between Rebecca and William. And he's entitled to be angry.
  8. YES---!!!! To this day, Santino's finale collection is my favorite PR collection ever. It was elegant and absolutely beautiful-!!!
  9. WHAT HAPPENED TO THESE PEOPLE---!?!?!?! This was the most blah, underwhelming mini collection of garments I have ever seen in a pre-finale show. I'm especially disappointed in Laurence. She's been my favorite designer all season.... I love her use of leather, so why is she diverting away from her natural aesthetic and trying to replicate pieces of the other designer's vision? She needs to just do her own thing. Yes, I've grown tired of her overuse of black, but she could incorporate some burgundy leather and maybe a navy or cobalt blue. Her cohesion could be the leather itself, and her collection would be amazing!!!! I'm so over Erin. I know she's talented from her pre-show pieces I viewed online. However, I'm so over her bulky neoprene dresses with glue stick embellishments. My 4-year old is more creative. Rik, Roberi -- what happened?!?!?! UGGGH. Their mini collections were horrible---!!! I'm actually dreading this finale. I'm afraid it's too late for any of these designers to pull out an amazing, breath-taking collection. Meh.
  10. So glad Adam won. Of the final 3, he played the best game.
  11. It's so good. So, so, so, so good. Here's a taste:
  12. I know someone with a young daughter who not only calls her daughter 'Princess' ad nauseam, but she also buys the child tiaras and floods her Facebook with the pics. Mind you, this child is not in pageants, which would be bad enough but where at least tiaras would be expected. This is just a child whose mom calls her 'Princess,' keeps her supplied in sparkly tiaras and never tells her child no. Good grief--!!!!! I don't want to be around either of them when that overly-pampered child becomes a teenager. Can you imagine -- !?!?!?
  13. I totally understand when writers create a diversion to allow another character to take an action, but they could have just as easily had Beth ask Randall a question, "Honey, you have to come watch so-an-so. He's about to sing Christmas Carols" or "Honey, I know how much you love shrimp and they just brought out another platter. Would you like me to fix you a plate?" Having Beth respond the way she did didn't make sense nor fit her character. YMMV. :D
  14. That last part totally threw me off too. I mean, Beth and Randall had an earlier disagreement about the boat, but it wasn't like they were fighting. No voices had been raised. It was all very normal and civilized. So why did she react so snarky later on? If Beth and Randall had just had a heated argument, then she would have had reason to believe Randall was still mad and that the fight was carrying over to the balcony, and her reaction would have been justified. However, this is a man she knows and loves and for all intents and purposes is a mild mannered, generous person who isn't prone to having rude outburst. The urgency and tone in his voice should have tipped Beth off that something bad was about to happen and that either (a) Randall is trying to shield her from it or (b) he's trying to signal -- 'Go get help!.' Beth's "DON'T YOU TALK TO ME THAT WAY--!!!!" response made me lose a little respect for her.
  15. No. The point I was trying to make is that IF the 'abstinence only' people were to have their way, nobody would have access to birth control. And since it's unrealistic to think that people without access to birth control would refrain from having sex, it only stands to reason that 'no birth control' would lead to an increase in unwanted and abandoned children ending up in orphanages and foster homes. And since same-sex couples cannot organically conceive, their options are limited. Short of hiring a surrogate if financially able, or garnering the help of a generous friend who agrees to surrogate on their behalf, many same-sex couples are looking to adopt. Yet, the type of person who subscribes to the unrealistic view of 'abstinence only' is a person with the very same mindset that believes same-sex couples are pedophilic and unfit to parent.
  16. I nominate "Christmas Eve," so that nothing bad ever happens on it. ;P
  17. That's one of my biggest fears for my daughter (who's only 4, btw). I hope to instill enough self-worth in her that she becomes and independent-minded adult, and doesn't think she's nothing without a man. I hope she focuses on her career and whatever interests she might have, such as traveling, skiing, theater, sky diving, rock climbing, antiquing...whatever. And if she happens to meet a man (or woman) that she feels she's compatible with and wants to share her life with, then great--!!!! I'm certainly not going to discourage her. Still, I just don't want my daughter to sacrifice her own goals and interest for someone else. And I don't want her to grow up thinking she needs to be in a relationship, -- or be inferior to those who are.
  18. I couldn't agree more. I'm in a committed relationship, so this doesn't apply to me. Still, I'll never understand why people (and especially women) seem to think they JUST HAVE TO be in a relationship, and if they're not, they're somehow 'lesser' than those who are. I've known women who'd rather settle for someone who doesn't live up to what they truly want than to NOT be in a relationship. That's disturbing.
  19. It's ironic how the group of people who don't want a bunch of unwanted and abandoned children living in orphanages and foster homes are the same group of people who are against same-sex couples adopting.
  20. I don't have a problem with the boat. When Randall mentioned it to Beth she didn't respond as if the boat idea came from out of left field. I took her reaction as disappointment, but like she'd heard it all before. Anyway, as someone who is super motion-sensitive, you would never see me getting on a boat. Again. Still, if 20 years from now my BF wanted to buy a boat, sobeit. I would view his interest and newly found hobby to be a healthier alternative than saying, having a mid-life crisis affair... which I'm assuming would be Randall's 'Plan B.'
  21. This ^^^^ totally cracked me up. HILARIOUS!!!! ;P
  22. Banana? WHEW! At least I can live up to that. I was just afraid someone was going to say 'cucumber.' *runs and hides* In a perfect world everyone would be sexually responsible and I totally get the argument that it's not MY responsibility to pay for someone else's birth control. However, since we don't live in a perfect world, I would much rather have a portion of my tax dollars providing birth control for those who cannot afford it, than to have a larger part of my tax dollars raising the children that are born as a result of someone's unplanned pregnancy.
  23. In defense of Jack and Rebecca, young Kate didn't appear to be in distress. She wasn't acting like a child whose appendix was about to burst. She grumbled a couple of times about having a stomach ache. Just before that, she was counting the presents and talking about going Christmas Caroling. I don't think anyone is at fault for not jumping into action when Kate said she didn't feel well. About the boys being unsupervised while roaming the halls of the hospital, my parents tells me that kind of thing happened all the time years ago. Pre-teens barely past the age of needing a babysitter themselves were babysitting their younger siblings. Kids played outside well past dark, catching lightening bugs, riding their bikes, burning leaves. My mom tells me stuff like that was a regular thing. Count me in with the group that hopes Kate doesn't get pregnant, -- BUT -- (and I'm just guessing here) if Chrissy herself is contemplating gastric bypass surgery, then I can see why the writers would make Kate pregnant. That way, they could write it in the storyline that due to Kate's size, she has to be on bed rest for the sake of the baby's health, and then Chrissy (the actress) could recover at her own pace. They could work around her post surgery with minimal scenes. Again, I'm just guessing here. Gotta say it again, I love the William and Jesse twist. :D
