Richard Ayoade is awesome! I enjoyed him, but felt I didn't get enough of him. I mentioned in another post that I felt Russell Crowe was likeable when he was on with Amy Adams and Henry Cavill (hi, Henry, hi...) to promote Superman. Clearly, it was a fluke. I just genuinely disliked the way he portrays himself. Cameron Diaz did not help the matter. What the heck was that conversation about pubic hair?! You really want to talk about issues younger women have these days with their bodies, talk about the thigh gap or massive airbrushing. I'm only intrigued by The Other Women because I like the idea of a story about women who become friends after figuring out they were all done wrong by Jamie Lannister; if it truly doesn't become about the women fighting over him, I like the concept. It make make a good HBO movie while I'm folding laundry. I did enjoy the weird wax museum segment. Oy, some of those are terrible.

Emma and Andrew are just adorable as individuals and together. I've always like Emma, but was surprised how likeable Andrew is, as I really hadn't seen too many other talk shows with him. His recitation of Jamie's Any Given Sunday song with Jamie was really, really cute. I can see how Jamie Foxx can rub people the wrong way, but I've liked him since the In Living Color days and I'm happy to see his success. His explanation of where the inspiration of his Electro voice was just great (Clint Eastwood and Alec Baldwin...hee). His dirty song about weathmen, puddles and beds was pretty funny. Typical R&B sex-you-up goodness. Though, I am spoiled by Benedict Cumberbatch reciting R Kelly on Jimmy Kimmel; nothing tops that for me. I've always like Paolo Nutini, but I don't understand why his face is so...special looking when he sings, but very cute when he's giggling on the couch. Though I liked the epidode and got a few laughs, this wasn't as good as some of the previous episodes. After, I on-demanded the Miranda Hart/Tinie Tempeh/Julie Walters episode...snorting with laughing.

Man, they packed it all in there, didn't they?! I guess I lean Captain Swan, but regardless of the romance, I just like Emma and Hook's friendship and the characters individually. I feel like Hook wasn't acting like the Hook we've grown to know. He had all this great growth end of last season and through the Neverland/Pan arc and it feels like it is totally two steps back now. Boo. I also didn't care for the madness of that "oh, LIAR" scene and then cut to Neal scene because it isn't clear where Snow/Charming/Emma left it with him. I like the relationship Hook has with Charming too and was sad to see the automatic lack of trust. I also expected Emma to have a little more trust for Hook. Come on, man. I was moved by the Snowing curse scene. For me, Ginny and Josh bring it when they do these type of scenes. I buy what they are selling and I really felt for Snow. In that scene, Regina was also very strong in her reactions to the sadness of Snow crushing Charming's heart. What a difference some time and character development makes. Glad to see Neal doing something smart. Good man! The only person thinking straight! And YAY for Killian just going with it to find and convince Emma. I loved Henry's "Robin Hood? Awesome!". It felt so "Henry" to me and put a smile on my face. Can someone explain to me why all the "light witches" suck? Glenda was so damn useless. Right up there with Blue and the other "good" fairies. There seems to be no balance of power between the "light" and "dark" witches. If you want to be even slightly effective, you have to be a dark witch. Boo, again.

It really was! This was the first episode since the long break that I didn't enjoy. The "hey audience, I don't know if you remember anything, like names of people and stuff, so we'll make sure to beat you over the head about it" moments were very annoying and the actors, who I usually think are good, didn't sell me at all. "Leopald and Ava are not good names for our baby, even if they are the names of your PARENTS...blah blah" I'm hoping we get this Hook stuff out in the open sooner rather than later. I don't care for down in the dumps Hook. I like my Cap'ain with his swag intact. Ha! Between the Rumple/Zelena smoochy and Game of Thrones' incest, I'm pretty done with inappropriate people inappropriately making out with each other. My only big moments of enjoyment this episode were the moments between Regina and Snow. I didn't care for the history lesson from Cora's stinky POV, but I like how the two women didn't fall back into any old patterns. They had a real conversation. I think we'd save ourselves a lot of time and frustration on this show if people just had more honest discussion. Oddly, I liked the "screw it, kiss the hot guy" moment from Regina. Why the hell not? Cora can just suck it. Yeah, Ava was a little tattletale, but Cora abandoned her baby for her own selfish needs and then spent tons of years killing people. Ava figured out how to be a good queen, while Cora couldn't figure out how to even try to be a good person.

I couldn't believe the amount of characters we got tonight! I wondered when we'd see Littlefinger again. TooMuchCoffee, seriously! In show full of creepy creepers, I actually sat further back on my couch from the moment Littlefinger started interacting with Sansa. I don't know what he has in mind for her, but I'm wondering if she's jumped from the frying pan into the pervy fire. Shudder. Charles Dance is a bad dude (meant in the most complimentary terms)! His scenes with Tommen and Oberyn were both amazing. I know Tywin is a "bad guy", but the level of practicality he brings is a breathe of fresh air on this show. I wonder what the long-term plan with the Dornish really entails because you know he has one. This is not a man you play in a game of chess. Little doses of Dany works for me. I like her excuses to Grey Worm, Jorah and Selmy. I think the reason for Grey Worm makes sense, but Selmy (dude, you're old) and Jorah (dude, you're lame) got the gentle letdown from their queen. Loved Dany's mental game with the barrels of shackles. Arya and the Hound are so compelling. Out of all the characters, I feel like I could follow these two without losing interest for the entire hour. The Wall stuff with Sam/Gilly doesn't really do anything for me, but I'm assuming we are spending time here because it is important. At least, I hope all that time will amount to something important. That said, Jon being a little more forceful and using his brain has been a nice change of pace this season. Truth be told, I'm still a little confused about who is who at The Wall; all the characters, save Jon and Sam, blend together for me. The less said about Cercei and Jamie, the better. Pass the brain bleach, people. -
I'll echo favorites already mentioned: Damon/Murray/Bonneville ("I got my warmest wooly jumper, but not my red lippy"), Margolyes and anyone, both episodes with Benedict Cumberbatch (<dramatic deep voice> "Woo. Hoo."), Adele/Miranda Hart/Jack Whitehall, O'Dowd/McGregor. I also like whenever John Bishop is on. Before this, I had no idea who he was, but he always kills in his episodes and he does admirable charitable work. My additions: O'Dowd/Carell/Wiig and the bit with the fly; I couldn't breathe. I'm generally apathetic towards Will Smith, but his appearances are pretty good. Henry Cavill/Amy Adams/Russell Crowe; "Let's all just look at Henry..." and I've never like Crowe more than in this interview. Any episode with Judi Dench is usually fabulous, but I really enjoyed the one with Dame Judi, Mila Kunis and Jude Law, especially Graham embarrassing the crap out of Olly Murs by using Olly's tweets re: wanting to have babies with Mila in front of Mila. Robbie Williams tends to be consistently strong on the couch. Tinie Tempah and Miranda Hart were awesome goodness. Currently, I don't know if this format could work with any of the talk show hosts we have here at home. I think Craig Ferguson could work because he like a bit of chaos, but his strength isn't focusing all that energy and keeping it moving along. Conan can juggle multiple guests nicely too and he's very quick on his feet. In terms of wishlist, I'd love to see Tom Hiddleston. Tom is just a wonderful, charming little kid and he gives funny interviews (seriously, look up any of his stuff from his stints promoting The Avengers and Thor: The Dark World). I also wouldn't mind seeing some of the other Marvel actors. Robert Downey Jr and Mark Ruffalo have been on and were great. I think Chris Evans and Anthony Mackie would kill on the couch. I don't why he would be on, unless Justified becomes big in the UK, but I'd love to see Timonthy Olyphant, as he always comes to play on chat shows.

Libertine Belle was on the other night. I actually had tears of laughter running down my face. It never fails to be hilarious. "St. Olaf?" "West side?" The episode with Pat, Dorothy's lebian friend, is wonderful. All the actresses truly brought their game to a show that still has serious cultural significance. I also love the birthday compilation episode, as it hits the hilarious "Get bent, HaHa!" and the emotional "It's my birthday and I get the rose" nicely. I was too young to really appreciate this show as a child (I recall the very late 80s episodes), and the reruns and my occasional insomnia have really made my love for this show strong. I now have all the DVDs and have converted many family/friends into GG fans. I'm dorkily proud of getting some of my little 20-something year old cousins into it. -
Worst of Golden Girls: Your Least Favorite Moments

I too am not a fan of the Very Special Episodes, especially Brother, Can You Spare a Jacket; I don't care for them, nor do I feel like they hold up well. I also don't care for the Barbara Thorndike episode. Everyone felt at their worst and I couldn't stand that Dorothy couldn't look at the woman and not see how offputting she was. On the flip side, I didn't like that Blanche/Rose didn't really try to like Dorothy's new friend. I mean, Barbara was a racist and a snotty witch, so I'm glad Blanche/Rose tried to warn Dorothy off of her, but they were too heavyhanded. I only sit through that episode for the scene at the literary restaurant because the names of the dishes never fail to make me laugh. The full moon episode doesn't do anything for me. Sophia, who usually delights me, spent the episode being cruel and rather annoying, while Dorothy/Miles kissing was just out of order and Blanche getting duped by the Brit theif was silly. I know we're all use to a lack of consistency on this show, but this episode felt like it lacked the general tone I know and love. Lastly, I loathe the hurricane episode where Stan and Gloria sleep together and it's Dorothy who is seen as unreasonable in the situation. It actually makes me mad whenver I see it. -
VERY late to the party; husband and I had a few random days off and decided tv binging was in order. DH saw a few episodes and enjoyed it, so we gave it a go together. I had no real hope, but my goodness, we didn't have a single episode where there wasn't a couple of genuine "lols". I've grown to like all of these characters very quickly. Color my surprise at enjoying Samberg's Jake. Andre Braugher, who I've always liked and brought a strong acting game to everything I'd seen him in, is just amazing here. His "what's up?" was just too much for us. We had to pause the tv. Hee. I find these actors play wonderfully off of each other: Samberg's reaction to "what's up"; the girls trying to make Boyle feel better; the gang plotting to help Jake, etc. It really adds to the writing and individual performances. There doesn't seem to be a weak link and after, like, a dozen episodes, my husband and I realized how diverse the show is. They don't hit you over the head with it, but it's fantastic to see. Additionally, my "aww" moment for Jake/Amy is when he very randomly told her she looked like a mermaid in her ballroom gown. I don't know why (maybe too much Once Upon a Time?), but I found it so sweet and added something to his confession at the end.

S04.E02: The Lion And The Rose 2014.04.13

TooMuchCoffee, YES! Murder on the Westeros (Orient) Express is exactly what we said in my living room. Like, 75% of the people at the head table had a reason to want Joffery dead, plus tons more in the audience. If it is one culprit, I wonder who done it. Cersei and Jamie both showed their asses, didn't they? Not since the first season did I understand what those two see in each other. Cersei was just such a piece of work with everyone she interacted with from being a jealous witch to Brienne to undermining Maegery's order regarding the feast food. Fun to see Oberyn cut her down to size very methodically. Jamie had his ass handed to him by Loras too after also being a jealous prick. Jack Gleason is just awesome in this role! Like many of you, I've never genuinely HATED a fictional character as much as I did/do Joffrey. He and Peter Dinklage stressed me out during their long dialogue. I was just waiting for the stalemate between them to turn violent. Also enjoyed that anyone who is even remotely decent (Sansa, Tyrion, the Tarells) were just so uncomfortable with Joffrey's display. The little person play was just so wrong. Leave it to Cersei to be smirking and smiling at it. I'm a pacifist, but damn if I wasn't disappointed Sansa didn't get to off Joffery (unless she did...which WHOA). After everything he's put her through, she deserved a little Arya-like justice. Though it's funny that the man she begged Joffrey to save ended up getting her the heck out of dodge. That's some decent karma on a show that doesn't give you that satisfaction often. I was really creeped out by Melissandre being in Stannis' daughter's room. She's evil and dangerous. Also, I continue to love the small scenes with Ser Davos. He's the only sane person in that whole portion of Westeros and I adore how much he loathes Melissandre. -
I enjoyed this finale as well! It was nice to see Will/Ana and Alice/Cyrus look content, as it felt so well earned. I adore Naveen and thought he did a good job at being a villian's villian. I would not be unhappy if he showed up in Storybrooke at some point. Maybe we'll even get to see my favs Jasmine and Aladdin (pretty, pretty please). Like many of you, I'm so excited that Michael Socha is moving over to Original Recipe, but I'm really hoping they aren't going to tear his heart out again by doing something to Ana or having her slide backwards. I can't stand his sad puppy dog face. No bueno. That said, I can't wait to see him with some of the snarky Once cast.

Hee. The girl has to get her priorities right because I don't think she's long for King's Landing and her mortal coil with her current strategy. I just hope she doesn't bring down Tyrion with her stupid. I may be in the minority, but I actually missed Robb. He was a favorite of mine (bad decisions and all), so I'm sad he's gone gone gone. In the credits, I really enjoyed seeing Dreadfort. I simply don't remember seeing it in the credits previously, but the gear effect was neat. Like many of you, I think Arya is a badass. The moment the music swelled and you see her on her own horse, I smiled. I am concerned that she's never going to be able to be "okay" and function "normally". Though, it's not like the child has had an opportunity to be a normal highborn girl in a while. On the shallow side, I'm glad to see Jamie's pretty face with the hair cut. I forgot what a looker he is. The gold hand exchange was amazing and Jamie's wave to Qyburn was very funny. I agree that the Dorne folk, especially Oberyn, made a fabulous impression. Oberyn's face when he told Tyrion the story about his sister was just so perfect with its mix of anger, pain, sadness and, finally, fury.

Husband and I are South Asian, so we use this around the house all the time when someone is hungry and we can't decide what to eat. Raj Koothrappali: Can we please make a decision? Not only are there children starving in India, there's an Indian starving right here. -
I like the idea of Renard and Nick being at odds. Aside from some machinations, a little planned violence and pouty looks, IMO, there hasn't been much of appropriate drama between those two. Curious to see how much they go there next week. Good call on the eyes, shapeshifter! I saw the humor they were going for when Nick went to visit Rosalee and Monroe, but, for me, the scene played weird up until they did the eye reveal. I'm also not feeling Rosalee's dress. It's just not cute to me.
