I think I love you! 😂 @DaphneCat - I totally agree on there needing to be more friendships and random interactions. As left field as it was - and I liked that they mentioned they’re not exactly close - I enjoyed the Chloe/Sarah discussion the other day. It felt real, gave character insights, and managed to move the story along all in one go. I actually would be happy to see more of Chloe in that confidant role. Plus random scenes like that get characters into other orbits, and that just keeps things interesting.

@QueenSerena - thanks so much for the spoilers. So much to unpack! Regarding the WTD storyline, while I agree a Xarah baby would be interesting, I would assume Sarah will be unsure if the baby is Eric or Rex’s, and Xander will step in and they’ll pretend they slept together again and he’s the father. Having Xander actually be a possibility as the father would be off from a timeline perspective given Xarah slept together months ago.

No slight taken @WendyCR72 😁 I’m not a GH watcher so wasn’t aware of that, and am very interested and somewhat surprised to know those re-couplings were not good. I loved both those pairings in their original shows - both had chemistry in spades - (in fact you’ve made me want to search up old SB Mason/Julia clips!) so I assumed they would have had a good chance of being successful. That definitely curbs my enthusiasm a little. That said - given the tension between Victor/ Sarah/ Kate/ Maggie, I feel like throwing Philip into the mix has the potential to be interesting, and relatively organic in terms of them interacting. I totally agree with your comments up thread that JY plays the wealthy son of big-name characters well, so fingers crossed this is a decent recast - if the rumours are true. It can’t hurt to be optimistic, right?!? 😂😳 (I really shouldn’t have said that!)

I also thought she looked beautiful and I loved the green but was anyone else distracted by her mis matched earrings? Is that a thing now?

EM is actually my star performer this week. I agree the “mom” was a nice touch but what I’ve enjoyed the most have been his comedic moments - from the “mean, mean, mean” conversation with Will, to his eye pop when Kate said she hoped it was an open bar, to the “are you kidding me right now” to Susan when she suggested he was fantasising about her - he’s been fun and funny. I like it when you can almost see that the cast are enjoying the material.

Can I join you on that island?!? I agree that Xander has a fun dynamic with both of them and I also find Sarah more interesting with him - she is more feisty and less cutesy. Plus Xander’s interactions with Sarah and Maggie give his character more dimension. I don’t mind that he’s shady, but at least when he opens up to them we get an indication of why he is.

I don’t think I’ll ever love any Philip that isn’t JKJ, but I liked JY on Bold for the most part. His pairing with LG was my favourite of his, so I could see a potential pairing with Sarah. Having said that, I did have to stop and think whether Philip and Sarah are related. They are not, right? Just step siblings via Maggie and Victor?

I'm really disappointed that BB is out - I like him a lot and where he has taken the character. He and CB have sold the Stabi pairing for me – it's been messy, soapy, lighthearted, fun and - gasp - entertaining. And I've enjoyed having CB front and center. I hope that doesn't mean she will go to the backburner. That said, Stabi aside I've not really enjoyed the last several months either. But it couldn't get worse, right?!?

LG didn't used to be that way though. I really enjoyed her run on Bold and thought she was good in all her pairings there - even with people who aren't exactly chemistry magnets. I was genuinely looking forward to her coming to Days, but cringeworthy pretty much describes how I feel about Sarah around Eric. LMAO, that's freaking hysterical Boes! Quote of the day. Of course, every time Tony speaks all I am now going to hear is "Welcome to Fantasy Island". Days could do with Roarke's fantasy-fulfilling ability right about now. Perhaps he could restore it to its former glory...

That’s a really good observation. The thing is, both have in the past been interesting characters with rich history, but IMO opinion they work better as interlopers who shake things up for a time, rather than leads. Aside from being on too high a rotation for me, they’ve also become less nuanced and less likeable to the point that the only part of their stories I’m rooting for is that they be over. Stat.

I’m with you on the EJ one. With no indication that JS will return, and given he seemed to be a main reason for the popularity of the character, I found that return from the dead nonsensical. What’s most frustrating to me is how it has now limited Sami’s character when she makes her returns, as she is always hamstrung to her offscreen “love of her life”. I enjoy having Will back, and feel his return has driven a lot of storyline that was independent of who (unsuccessfully) killed him. I’d definitely welcome more interactions with his grandparents, but with so few Brady or Horton younger generation/“kids” now on the canvas (I count Ciara and JJ, and Eli although he wasn’t raised as one), I feel his presence is important.

And I also recall someone saying (actually I think it was that original twitter poster) that those excited for Steve’s return should be cautious as they were unlikely to be happy with the storyline. Now I’m worried. And at this point I’m not sure if it’s better to know or not know...

I agree - it’s madness. I just hope the Gabi/Jack rumour is just that. I’m pretty open to most plot twists on soaps, but I just couldn’t watch that. Yuck

The original poster confirmed it wasn’t Ben (I also thought it may be him) but didn’t say who it was. Jack... I just can’t even fathom how bad that would be. I don’t know how reliable the original poster is with spoilers though.

I do. Having just watched the Sarah/Eric “love scene”, I’ve gotta say that although Ben is a serial killer and Ciara is an entitled princess, at least the actors have chemistry and are working to sell the (shitty) story.

It was good to see that, and I also have little sympathy for anyone in this triangle, although Rex has at least been palatable. Your point about there being no real stakes is however the most frustrating thing for me. I’ve seen virtually zero fan interest in these pairings pretty much from the get go, so there’s no damn payoff for anyone. I get with an ensemble cast that I’m not going to like every story or coupling. But when I see lots of discussion and enthusiasm for stories or couples I may not be into, I’m still glad because for better or worse I’m a Days fan, and popular stories and couples keep this show afloat. To have been subjected to this triangle and then not see any real enthusiasm for either pairing - well that does my head in. Another reason the 54 year ahead taping schedule sucks.

If she is playing Vivian then I wonder when they are going to switch out the Louise Sorel-Vivian photo that is on the Dimera mantelpiece. It was in clear view several times during the scenes this part week and did make me wonder if RS will indeed be playing her. Of course I’d love it if the LS photo remained in place and when RS took the role characters kept pointing to it and saying “but you don’t look anything like Vivian”.

I was ok with Ben questioning Stefan because It played to me like he genuinely cares about Stefan and wanted to make sure he was not going into the marriage blind. But Ciara’s commentary around what Gabi has done to Abby - given what Ben did to Abby - made no sense. I also felt she could have dialled back the attitude with Stefan given it’s his house. Still, I’m enjoying the soapiness of it all and where it will lead. And there was certainly a lot of pretty when the four of them were in the room together! Wardrobe, hair and makeup did great today.

Preach it! This is one of the major reasons I cannot stand Eve. She takes martyrdom to a whole new level, and while she loves to call everyone else out on their crap, she never owns her own. Lying to Jack by giving him a placebo was always going to be hard for him to thank her for - even if she was doing it as she was worried about his health (yeh, right 🙄). But destroying the serum in front of him and then getting all “woe is me” because he called her a bitch? Please. If the shoe fits, at least have the guts to own and wear it.

As a non-US viewer, it’s not clear if the digital episodes will be available, so would appreciate if you take that into consideration also.

I get budget is a consideration but we’ve recently had the return of the Hernandez kitchen and the introduction of Ben’s tiny place so I figure it’s more storyline driven. I for one am grateful they didn’t get their own place. Rex/Sarah alone scenes would be a snooze fest - what on earth would she do with no Eric to moon over? 🙄 (Seriously does anyone ship Sarah and Eric though? Why must they continue to get so damn much screen time?) Living at the K Mansion keeps them in Xander’s orbit which is ok as IMO only he and/or Maggie make Sarah slightly tolerable. The only thing that makes Haley tolerable for me is the fast forward button.

OMG - I never knew that and would never have guessed that in a million years. Mind blown. But yeh, amongst the many reasons I’ve not found KdP to be a good choice as an Eve recast, ageing her certainly has not helped given Shane was a young father to Eve, and IMO Charlotte Ross looked/looks younger than her age.
