  1. Even after watching the episode, I still don't remember ever seeing Amanda before. I was just waiting for Emily to say, "I'm not here to make friends." Maybe next episode.
  2. http://tvline.com/2016/11/22/the-night-shift-ken-leung-leaving-season-4-nbc-topher/ That's disappointing to hear.
  3. I agree and am curious as well. It was the same reason George Takei always held a seat open at Allegiance for Trump back when that was running on Broadway. Of course, he never went, but having seen it, I think it would have been really difficult to not hear the message there.
  4. I don't think the survey responses here will mean anything at all, and you have to enter your information to vote, but it was interesting to look at. Of course, there is no response for "No, I don't want this," just, "Not important." https://gop.com/100-day-plan-action-survey/ That said, gives some idea about their 100 day plan specifics (nothing really new, but narrowed down to 29 things). Stuff like: I thought it was now a fence? Or a metaphor? Which won't exist at some point because... climate change. That'll be interesting, considering how many major cities that includes. The usual deportation of "more than two million criminal illegal immigrants" and suspension of immigration are all there, but noticeably no Muslim registry to vote on.
  5. I got the same thing this afternoon unfortunately. Does anyone know if there is an alternate number?
  6. Officially renewed! http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/more-tv-news/the-night-shift-renewed-for-season-4-on-nbc/
  7. Guess we're going to start to see a lot of these proposed by the GOP in the states. This one in Washington claims "economic terrorism." The ACLU is going to be so busy. I did like this quote though: ... Says the person who campaigned for Trump.
  8. #1 is basically me. It's so stressful every time I read about something else, but I feel like I need to pay attention to know what we're up against, what we're fighting about, when to call people, etc. I just need to find a better method of stress relief and employ it often. #2 is also what I've been scared of since day one. No one seems willing to stand up to him on anything at all, even things that are clearly wrong. Between having both houses of Congress, and the fact that no one in the GOP seems willing to stop this, that is an unprecedented amount of power for someone so unqualified, which makes it so terrifying. Tonight's stress was about how Japanese internment is being used as precedent for things they might do like the Muslim registry. (I put the video in media because I thought it fit better there.) I don't think I have the capacity for that other Trump supporter video right now, but maybe later, after pictures of cute puppies.
  9. I remember early in the campaign some people were using Japanese internment as justification for things they were saying, and here we go again. https://twitter.com/bad_takes/status/799079032499343360 One of the most shameful chapters in American history is NOT precedent you should be using. The people in power have learned nothing from history. I will say, at least she tried to get through to him, but I really don't think it made a difference. I feel like banging my head against the wall sometimes when people keep talking about how this was done before. That doesn't make it right. THIS is exactly what people are afraid they're going to do to everyone that disagrees with them or doesn't fit into their vision of America.
  10. If anyone's interested in a clip of this part: I believe it. Out of the 41 people Trump follows on Twitter, they are 3 of them. (And the 41 isn't even that many to begin with, considering the 20 or so accounts that are his family members, his businesses, his brand, his campaign (Kellyanne actually not one of them).) Love that. Going to save that RUMP PLACE photo for a bit for a laugh.
  11. I'm sure some Biden memes must be in the works! Until then, all I've seen is this: https://twitter.com/thehill/status/799036608863498241
  12. Seriously, do they just skip right over the 1st and go straight to the 2nd Amendment every time? How hard is it to understand: No law abridging the right of the people peaceably to assemble. Period. Do you know which GOP congressman it was? I'm not saying every president or politician has to be a constitutional law professor like Obama was to get it, but I can't stand this selective reading of the Bill of Rights and the Constitution.
  13. If you want some more Breitbart headlines, there's always these (which have some overlap): https://twitter.com/pbondi/status/797919671676731392 I hate when people refer to them as conservative news media. There's conservative and then there's ... this.
  14. That is a very well-thought-out and extremely terrifying conspiracy theory, @HumblePi. I'm not sure I want to see the next one! Trump has been denying climate change for years. I'm not sure anyone is going to get through to him, and the changes he wants to make will likely have catastrophic consequences that we can't come back from. I don't know when people decided that scientific facts were just opinions, but it's disturbing, this post-fact or post-truth (or whatever we're calling it) world we're now living in.
  15. Agree with @stewedsquash on the Lichtman thing. He had some basis for the election one, but I don't know whether his gut feelings on anything else have been any good, so I'm hesitant to have too much faith in it. His son-in-law seems to still have a lot of influence over him. The "unstructured chain of command" thing though ... WTH is going to be going on in the White House? It's almost like they're going to set it up for an internal power struggle.
