  1. I agree. He wasn’t complaining at all. Rory was trying to make excuses for him but he was actually taking responsibility for once. To me, he seemed resigned to his fate. He wasn’t complaining that it was unfair.
  2. Yeah I guess because we didn’t get to see Tristan after military school, everyone just judges him on his past behaviour. I always have it in my mind that military school really made him grow up and mature. It’s a shame we didn’t get to see that.
  3. I liked Logan too in season 7. I just always had a soft spot for Tristan as well. I just don’t understand why Tristan is the devil although Logan at the beginning was exactly like Tristan. Yeah that annoyed me as well. But to be fair, even if Rory had explained the situation, I’m sure Emily would still find something to be angry at Lorelai for.
  4. I think you’ve got it spot on. I always thought that if Tristan and Jess had ever met, they’d be good friends. It’s a shame they never explored that as Tristan was actually still around for a bit when Jess was there.
  5. One thing I liked about Rory and Tristan was their banter. It kind of reminded me of Luke and Lorelai’s early days. And I agree that Rory stayed herself around Tristan whereas she totally changed for Logan.
  6. What made him too damaged?? Logan was just like him at the beginning. I believe that if Tristan grew up a bit, he’d be a decent guy like Logan was at the end.
  7. No, I respect your opinion. I know not everyone liked Tristan. I just believe that deep down he was a good guy. He just needed to grow up a bit.
  8. To be fair, I don’t actually think Tristan cared about being part of that world. Yeah he was a jerk at times but I think that was probably because he wasn’t getting any attention at home. We got to see the softer side of Tristan at times as well like at Madeline’s party and when he said goodbye to Rory.
  9. I get he’s not everyone’s taste but I do believe he didn’t have a great family life. Paris even told Rory that after the Bangles concert and how things with his parents aren’t good and how she and he had that in common.
  10. And I think Rory did have a soft spot for him near the end. That smile when he said goodbye to her and called her Mary again proves that. At the beginning she was so into Dean that she didn’t really give him a chance but I think as time progressed, she actually started to thaw towards him.
  11. I agree. He did some jerky things but I always believe deep down, he was a good guy. I mean he was friends with Paris since kindergarten and she liked him a lot. I know she had a crush on him but when Rory actually questioned her on why she liked him, she had answers to that. I think Paris could relate to him because it seemed like he had a rubbish family life as well. I think he genuinely liked Rory and although he may have gone about things the wrong way with her, he did apologise in the end and I believed his apology. I always wish they would have given them a chance.
  12. And then after she accused Luke of not caring about Rory just because he wanted to make sure his own nephew was ok, she just expected him to forgive her. She still didn’t even think she was in the wrong but she expected him to forgive her just because she wrote him a letter to apologise.
  13. Lorelai always thought rules shouldn’t apply to Rory though. She thought everyone should think she was perfect and if they didn’t, she’d get angry at them. On a side note, I always thought her emotionally blackmailing Luke about using his truck when Rory wanted her to come back to Yale was wrong. She always did that to Luke. She just expected him to drop everything for Rory and when he didn’t, she’d accuse him of not caring about her. She did that after the car crash with Jess and Rory as well.
  14. I totally agree with all your points. Lorelai should have had a think about why Rory would hide things from her. Even with Logan, she knew Lorelai wouldn’t approve so avoided talking about him. And then Lorelai made it all about her whining about how Rory wouldn’t talk to her. Whenever Rory did her own thing without talking to Lorelai, Lorelai would freak out. I get what she went through to raise Rory and I respect how she stepped up and I think she was a good mom but she should have realised that as Rory grew up, things were bound to be different.
  15. I agree. Lorelai did apologise to them but it didn’t sound very sincere. Very uncomfortable and cringey to watch.
  16. I hated the fact that she was like “we applied elsewhere?” Grrr, there’s no ‘we’ about it, Lorelai!! It’s Rory’s choice! She’s the one who has to go there. And the fact that she was making a scene in front of Emily and Richard’s guest as well.
  17. And I think it hurt that it was Christopher because when it came to him, Luke had always been a bit insecure. He knew Lorelai had history with him so I can see why it hurt him. I know this will sound weird but I think if Lorelai has slept with a random guy, they might have been able to get through it. I think it was because it was Chris that everything broke down.
  18. To be fair, I think she was more upset that she had sex with Chris immediately after everything happened with Luke. She liked Luke too. And also she finally had a good thing going with her dad. She was worried this would ruin it.
  19. I agree. Luke didn’t think they were broken up so I still say it was cheating.
  20. Same! I love being involved in the discussion even if people don’t agree with me. :) I find it interesting to see what people do think. :)
  21. That will always annoy me. Lorelai was so in the wrong there. She knew what Luke was like and how he had to process things. He was never just going to jump and elope. And also that moment made me dislike Chris even more? He would have known Lorelai was upset. He shouldn’t have jumped into bed with her.
  22. True but in this instance, I don’t really blame him for storming off. But let’s agree to disagree. ?
  23. To be fair, he did do that earlier though when Chris tried to goad him talking about the night Lorelai went over.
  24. Yeah but he probably didn’t want to make a scene at Lorelai’s parent party. He was uncomfortable enough being there, he probably knew they would side with Chris if that did happen. I don’t think it’s fair to say walking away from a fight is weak. It was Luke’s way of dealing with it. He probably needed some space and time alone to get his head round things.
  25. To be fair, I think Luke realised he was in the wrong with TJ. But you also can’t blame him for assuming the worst considering Liz’s history with guys. He could have handled the April situation differently but Lorelai could have also. It wasn’t just him. However, I was totally on his side with the vow renewal. To hear your girlfriend’s ex say that they belonged together and even Emily thought so. I don’t blame Luke for leaving especially after finding out that night that Lorelai had spent the night at Chris’ place without telling him, even though it was innocent. Maybe he could have let Lorelai tell him her side once he’d cooled down a bit but I don’t blame him for leaving one bit. If it had been the other way round, Lorelai certainly would have left and would have made it all about her.
