  1. I agree. A lot of people say it’s one sided and it’s only ever Luke that does things and is there for Lorelai but this episode proved that wasn’t the case. She literally dropped everything to go and help him out and I thought it was really nice to see. Even Rory helped out in the diner as well which shows how much she cares about Luke as well. Another moment that I remember is that Lorelai didn’t hesitate in going and picking up Luke when she heard he had been arrested and even paid for his bail as well. Luke did a lot for Lorelai and Rory but it was moment like these that shows Lorelai was there for him just as much and I’m glad they showed them. ?
  2. I don’t agree with that. I think their friendship was two sided. Lorelai needed Luke just as much as he needed her. He brought the best out of her and brought her down to reality when she needed it. He was the one of the few she would actually listen to and she would actually take his words on board. This wasn’t all about Luke pining for Lorelai. Maybe he felt something for her a long time before she developed feelings but she really appreciated their friendship. Look at the way she would act when they weren’t talking. She couldn’t cope.
  3. I don’t really agree with that. Luke and Lorelai were good friends and as she said in season 2, he’s one of the few constants in her life. I can totally believe that she wouldn’t want to jeopardise that.
  4. I feel like deep down Lorelai knows she has feelings for Luke but I feel like she doesn’t want to ruin their friendship by acting on it. Plus when she asked Rory what she thought of Luke in season 1, Rory was so against them dating that she probably just put it to the back of her mind. And then from then on, the timing was bad for both of them.
  5. I agree that Lorelai always thought she knew best when it came to kids. She did it with Jess when she tried to tell him she understood how he felt when in fact, she had no idea what Jess had to go through. She stuck her nose in when Luke specifically asked her not to and said he could handle it. But she thought she knew best and from that moment, she hated Jess just because he acted like that on his first day of being in Stars Hollow. I agree that she was quite patronising and condescending towards Luke with Jess and April, implying that he didn’t know anything at all about looking after a kid. She was trying to butt her way in instead of just being there and encouraging him. I’m not saying Luke didn’t handle the April situation well but Lorelai was too full on as well and in times, I feel like she was a bit rude and she was making fun of him, eg, April’s birthday present. I don’t blame Luke for getting defensive. Lorelai also did it with Lane to an extent, trying on numerous occasions to reason with Mrs Kim. I know she meant well but she and Mrs Kim were very different. She should have respected that.
  6. Yeah that annoyed me when Lorelai said that. She never encouraged Rory to get a job really until after Yale and I’m assuming April was still studying in the revival.
  7. Oh yeah, I have to add I love 4 as well!! I just feel 5 was more unexpected and unpredictably sweet for Jess. ?
  8. 5 for reasons I’ve mentioned for before. One of the few selfless and sweet things Jess did. ?
  9. I still believe he genuinely loved Rory and had Rory not been getting feelings for Dean again at that time, I feel like something could have happened.
  10. I don’t think it does. I think he just realised he really wanted to be with her but when he saw Dean, it freaked him out.
  11. To be honest, I have a feeling that sudden idea came about because he found her with Dean. I feel like he wouldn’t have asked her to run away otherwise. It seems to me that he wanted to start things up again with her. He was reading the self help books after all.
  12. 3 I honestly think Jess putting the sprinklers back on so that Dean wouldn’t know he helped Rory was the sweetest thing Jess did in the whole series. He knew it would have caused an argument between Rory and Dean and it was one of those rare moments that he didn’t meddle in their relationship.
