  1. No one divides opinion on the DWTS FB page quite like Keo. Half think he’s treated awfully and deserves the ringer of the season. The other half think he’s an awful teacher and should be fired. I’m afraid my opinion is the latter.
  2. I don’t watch any other version of DWTS, but I read somewhere recently that Ashley Roberts (Pussycat Doll) joined the UK version of the show. I hope the UK are as receptive to ringers as the US audience because she must be the biggest to ever do a dance show like this since her fellow PCD!
  3. Has the show started taping yet and if so do we know who has been eliminated?
  4. Yep the Shibs definitely strike me as the kind of duo who are holding out for a full season. They probably have the juice to do it and they’ve taken the next skating season off. The show loves it when they get a duo of some kind on the show so I can see them having no problem waiting until the fall for them.
  5. The shortened format of the show is a killer for the likes of Arike and Jennie. Jennie especially looked like someone that in a few weeks time could have built herself up to be a genuine contender. But due to the season format she just won’t have the time to do that. Arike is a similar story. Even Jamie may have faired better in a normal season, I’d have been interested to see her in a week 2 with a week’s solid rehearsal time behind her. It’s the females that will always suffer the most in a season like this as it’s so much harder for them to earn their votes unless they have a big fanbase off the bat. The men can immediately woo the average DWTS voter with their physique, the women cannot do the same.
  6. I can understand fans of Sharna being upset that her first win will be a hollow one with it being a 4 week mini season, but considering how long it’s taken her, I’d take whatever I can get at this point if I were her.
  7. Having caught the dances online, if Sharna can’t pull out a win this season then she might as well give up. She’s got the charming likeable non ringer with the stand out opening dance. Basically Rashad 2.0. Thought the right two went home, Arike’s score just gave her the edge over Jamie but I suggest that she’s toast next week. The second one is tougher to call, I think Kareem could knock someone better out, maybe Jennie? Final two will be Josh and Adam.
  8. Thanks for the updates. I haven’t followed any of the couples of pre season Media at all so I’m just checking in now. Mainly because I’m not really invested at all in this season. The eliminations are just to rushed, I don’t feel like I can connect to any couple because of such a short season. I can’t even watch the premiere live anyway so I will probably just catch the dances on YouTube and let voting take its course. I notice two couples get eliminated on the night of the premiere which is just bonkers. Based on nothing more than instinctive gut feeling I reckon Johnny Damon might be in trouble in terms of the men. Simply because all of them will probably be good apart from Kareem who will be token cool old guy which gets him through. In terms of females I’d say Tonya will unfortunately get through the first week and possibly even the second as well, you’d imagine she’ll have some natural ability as well even more unfortunately. Mirai will probably be the stand out which leaves the other three. Jennie I’d imagine will do well, considering they’ve wanted her on the show for a while, she must have something about her. I can’t see Arike being very good considering she’s a baller (they have bad records on the show) and she has Gleb who already looked checked out from the GMA interview. If she gets through week one it’ll be down to campus/fan votes. Not got a clue on Jamie, apart from I remember her from Celebrity Apprentice with Shawn Johnson. She seemed sweet but got overpowered by the bigger personalities (not a good sign for a show like this). Being a multi gold medalist she must have something about her, but who knows. Either way she’ll need to dance well or she’ll be gone as she’s probably one of the least known of all the stars. At least Artem seems happy based on his IG, to be honest I would be as well if I got a free ticket to Norway out of this clusterfudge of a season! If you picked me for an early winner, I’d be boring and say Adam or Mirai. But watch out for Chris and Josh. Especially Josh, if he can dance then you bet the “Sharna has never won brigade” will be out in full force!
  9. Sharna is frustrating but popular. I had a look at the likes ranking on FB when they announced the pros and posted their individual photos. Sharna was way out in front with over 1k likes. Artem was second which didn’t surprise. He’s slowly cultivated a fanbase over the seasons and is probably the most popular male pro once you take away the Mark/Derek/Val hybrid. Lindsay was third then everyone else closely bunched behind. Unsurprisingly Keo and Gleb were at the bottom. Both are well past their sell by date and should have been dropped a while ago. IMO
  10. Merry Christmas to you all as well. Hope anyone who is going to see the tour enjoys it. The last one I went to was the one with Alek Skarlatos as the guest star and that was an amazing show.
  11. Not scheduling it on the same night as the Voice would be a start. Isn’t Scandal ending this season? Since that officially marks the end of TGIT they should move Greys to Monday as their fans will follow it wherever it goes and move DWTS to Thursday. DWTS competes against the Voice, Big Bang Theory and Monday Night Football so no wonder it’s struggling.
  12. That tour will make lots of money. They normally only book one celeb and only have a second if the original celeb has to take time off for whatever reason e.g Heather covering for Rashad last season. But Jordan and Frankie appeal to old and young DWTS fans. Best for business booking them both at the same time because they’ll both sell lots of tickets. I’d go if it was coming to my city. Frankie doesn’t have a fanbase, he’s gained tons of fans coming on the show. People have fallen in love with him. The hardworking loveable underdog.
  13. Alan is the absolute worst for attaching himself with celebs that have huge social media followings. Go and look at his Instagram. About 9 of his last 10 pictures are with young girls that have huge social media followings. He took a picture a day with Hayes Grier back when he was on the show and ditto Normani last season.
  14. It was Nikki’s birthday and it looks like they all got wasted together. There’s a video going round of them salsa dancing to Despacito in a club that’s got crazy John Cena fans going apoplectic with rage haha. Apparently you can’t drink and dance in close proximity with your dance partner and friend without being accused of sleeping together by nutty fans. I don’t think they realise that they won’t even see each other again for months.
  15. Lindsay has done a great job since getting promoted back up to pro but let’s not pretend she hasn’t been incredibly lucky. She’s either had dancers with experience e.g Jordan and Wanya, or non dancers with absolutely golden fanbases for the show e.g Alek (war vet) and David (Cubs). I’d like to see how she copes with a Derek Fisher next, or even a proper early out like a Chris Kattan. It is a mystery how Sharna hasn’t won yet, but she can’t say she hasn’t had the partners. She’s had an Olympic ice dancer, a disabled war vet, a Steeler and a Backstreet Boy among others which is far better than many other pros (Emma for example). Despite all those partners with big fanbases and/or Dance experience, her best chance was with James, she was very unlucky that season.
  16. Congratulations to the winners, they were the best dancers. Lindsay has had her trophy coming. Good to see both her and Emma as winners this year. I’ve accepted that it probably will never happen but I do hope Artem is next on the list for a mirrorball. He’s probably the only one without one that I’d genuinely love to see get one (sorry Sharna).
  17. I’m talking four person finales bealled not three person finales. All three seasons when the finale has consisted of three of one gender and one of the other, that one person won. Amber, Alfonso and Bindi. Lindsey would make it four in a row.
  18. Can’t say I was upset about Victoria’s elimination, the semis was probably her ceiling in terms of dance ability. What should really have happened if we’re going on dance ability is that Drew should have gone a week or two ago and any one of the previous three eliminated contestants who were all just as if not more capable dancers than Victoria should be in the final instead. But that’s life, I’m not that bothered about it as I didn’t care for any of those three enough to be truly angry/upset with their eliminations. We all know before the season started that Drew was here for a long time and in all probability finals bound with his “mature” fanbase. I still think Lindsey is going to win. Every time the four person final consists of one celeb of a certain gender, that celeb normally wins. I don’t see that changing next week.
  19. Only one thing I don’t agree with in this post, I think your doing a disservice to Frankie. I think he has grown certainly the most out of the men IMO. His problem is he can be inconsistent, a great dance one week, a not so great dance the next but his workrate and attitude is unquestionable. I’ve enjoyed watching him far more than I have Jordan and I hope and expect that he makes it to the final three. Fully agree about Victoria though, I wouldn’t have even been upset had she gone and Nikki got another week but that was never going to happen with her backstory.
  20. Drew Scott’s fanbase is very underrated. Property Brothers is huge, that show aired on the same night as the Total Bellas finale and got 800k more viewers. The difference is as you mentioned the age of viewers. Drew’s fans are 90% made up of over 50s, most of whom probably already watch DWTS and can be trusted to vote in numbers. Plus you’ve got the Canadian vote that goes to him. Nikki’s fanbase is made up of young girls up to the age of around 40 who are historically unreliable when you get towards the latter stages of the show and the only stars left have big fanbases or are top drawer dancers. I was surprised she got this far to be honest with you, I thought she was a goner around week 3 and if it weren’t for the Vegas attacks she may well have been. I’m glad she did though, I knew she was a good person from the charity work she does with her sister but it was nice to see that side of her come out again as the weeks went by. Plus she managed to beat out Chris Jericho so they can’t laugh at her when she returns to WWE haha.
  21. Nailed it. She was improving but it was slow progress and she was never going to reach the level of Lindsey/Jordan/Frankie. Combine that with being female and not known to viewers on the show like Drew Scott and the writing was on the wall. The show didn’t help her though, it felt to me like she went in the first hour pretty much every week which left her as forgettable and ultimately got her eliminated. She’d have gone home for sure next week had she survived this week anyway. It was her partnership with Artem that was the best thing about her, her natural confidence and persona brought Artem out of his shell in a way that no other partner has done before.
  22. Don’t worry it’s easy to forget who she is when she got booted out first in her only season as a pro last year.
  23. I thought that segment was funny. Nikki has some pretty crazy fans being from WWE and I’m pretty sure her and Artem will have been subjected to cheating allegations by such crazy fans what with her being naturally flirtatious and touchy feely (in an innocent way). That segment obviously will have shut all of them up. As for Artem he’s been treated like that since he joined the show and I bet it’s even worse when he goes on tour so he must be happy to roll with it especially if it builds him a fanbase (worked with me!). If you want an example of where such behaviour crosses the line when the male pro becomes uncomfortable, go and watch Barbara and Keo.
  24. They both hated each other simple as that. Blame them both. Vanessa’s personality turned me off from week one and Maks’ unprofessionalism was disgraceful. The producers need to take a look at themselves after his behaviour this season and stop letting him back on the show under some deluded assumption that he brings extra ratings. He doesn’t and he doesn’t care even a quarter about the show like he used to until he finally won it. The sole reason he keeps sneaking his way back in is for the paycheck and publicity. Babies aren’t cheap. At least Peta puts 100% in and cares about whoever she gets and their journey on the show. She can come back, Maks needs to be fired and turned into a full time nanny while Peta earns the dwts pro paycheck. If anyone hasn’t seen it yet, I strongly advise you to go and watch the elimination again online. The difference in Artem’s and Maks’ reactions say it all. One pro looked like he was going to cry and was absolutely gutted while the other pro looked like he couldn’t give a damn and laughed it off. Says it all really.
  25. She dumped him during his season with Nancy Kerrigan apparently. I was sceptical when someone told me but it made sense as I remember him going MIA on all social media for weeks early on in the season with Nancy. Makes me respect him even more with all the hard work he put in for her while having to deal with that.
