  1. I said earlier in the week, it doesn’t matter how good your team is, you are screwed without good music. Having said that Phantom was no way a perfect score, it had sync issues and probably should have had all nines. Best team dance ever CAI? Do me favour, it’s not even in the top five. I’d rather watch team foxing awesome 50 times over before watching that again.
  2. Maks is the absolute worst, he was trying not to celebrate that he was going home at the end. I didn’t particularly have strong feelings for Nikki (I liked her but didn’t love her) but I was absolutely gutted for Artem seeing his face at the end. He truly deserves so much better than what this shows throws at him. I’m sure they’ll reward him next season by going back to his partner of type and tossing him some Charo like no hoper.
  3. Assuming Nikki is eliminated tonight it’ll certainly open the door for Victoria or Vanessa to sneak into the final four should she have to withdraw. It would also make the competition Jordan’s to lose unless Frankie starts getting regular tens. I think she’ll be fine though, like I said she’ll drag herself out there if she has to, she only needs the painkillers to work for a few minutes.
  4. This happens every season. I’m sure she’s injured and in pain but she’ll dance. They’ll just inject her with every painkiller under the sun.
  5. Got a sneaky feeling Team Drew will surprise us and come out on top. Honestly, don’t underestimate the importance of good music and Drew’s team have by far the better song. I remember season 21 when not even Mark and Derek together could save the day when they got stuck with Ghostbusters. And then there was that awful futuristic song Derek’s team got last year, the dance where Marilu fell over. Plus you know the judges will be extra hard on Terrell’s team, like they were for the all girls team last season, although they also got lumbered with terrible music.
  6. If people are underestimating Drew’s fanbase I think they’ll have a shock next week when he survives the elimination. Absolutely no doubt in my mind he’ll be safe. For me it’s about whose getting the least amount of votes between Nikki, Vanessa and Terrell. Nikki better pray her WWE fans are still voting or I think she’ll go in a “shocker” next week. First in the running order is a vote killer when you reach this stage of the competition. At least it’ll make next week interesting to watch with team dances as well. Always my favourite week along with the premiere.
  7. You know it’s a strange night when Nikki, Terrell and Vanessa didn’t get less than one 9 between them and I’d say one of those three will be eliminated next week. Drew was a hot mess and he’s at the bottom but you just know he’s got an army of Property Brothers viewers voting for him, as has Frankie as has Victoria.
  8. Nancy was a far more capable partner than Nikki. People I think can be blinded by the fact that Nikki is a 30 something attractive women so therefore assume she’ll be a good dancer. When the reality is that she has zero dance background, her occupation couldn’t be any further from that of a dancer, she relies on upper body strength in the ring to make up for her lack of speed and athleticism (not good for a prospective dancer) and then you have her neck limitations. I think Artem choreographs to cater for her limitations. Also anyone having watched Nikki on her reality shows will know she’s not the sharpest knife in the drawer (to put it politely) whereas Nancy was a hugely intelligent woman. I bet it took less than half the time for Artem to teach choreo to Nancy than it does to Nikki. Obviously being a former figure skater who performed to music, she’s also going to have far better rhythm and musicality. I said earlier in the thread, Nikki is the female Drew, Nancy should have been a finalist and it still makes me angry the way she was treated last season. I always end up going off on a rant when talking about her, she deserved so much better.
  9. People hugely overestimate pro fanbases. They make little or no difference unless it’s Derek or Val. Or Maks when he’d gone 15+ seasons without a win.
  10. One other point regarding the difference of audience opinions regarding contestants and whether their gender makes a difference. Just a hunch here but if Nikki was male I suspect she’d be a hell of a lot more liked by the general DWTS demographic audience than she seems to be compared to say Drew. I’ve started to notice that she’s pretty much the female equivalent of him (I like both by the way this isn’t me hating on Drew), she’s happy, positive, a hard worker, no dance experience, embracing the experience and improving every week, supportive to all the other cast members (go and check out a IG message she wrote to Sasha when she was eliminated). But of course she’s a confident, attractive woman who throws people around for a living as opposed to a confident, attractive man who finds members of the public their dream properties for a living.
  11. If Jordan was female he’d be a shock elimination around week 7-8.
  12. I understand it can be frustrating watching the judges (well basically thirsty CAI) overscore the men (hello Terrell) but let me tell you Lindsey has a huge chance of winning this. I’d be willing to bet she’s getting more viewer votes than Jordan right now. Those two along with Frankie will 100% be the top three but Lindsey has a darn good chance of taking it. Especially as she has the best pro on the entire roster in her corner.
  13. I do feel a little bad for Sasha, poor girl got buried by her own pro. Got everything crossed that one of the married couple leaves next week. In fact, can we do the double elimination next week and boot them both out!!!
  14. Well he’s not exactly going to say that they do have a conflict. Personally the evidence is too overwhelming to ignore. It’s obvious they don’t like each and don’t get along. But of course they’ll push through for the show and their own bank balances’ sake.
  15. Brand new Disney movie that comes out on Thanksgiving. Basically Nikki’s been given the same treatment David Ross got last season when they lumbered him with the yet to be released Cars 3. They’ve obviously chosen Nikki because she’s the most internationally known member of the cast and probably gets the most hits for her dances online. So of course that makes her the perfect patsy to use for a movie that needs promotion.
  16. If their are fans who only watch for the pros, it will be for all of them not just one although I’m sure everyone has their favourites including myself. The only pro I genuinely believe had so many fans, that some stopped watching DWTS because he wasn’t on it anymore was Derek. I don’t think anyone would stop watching if Val left and of the pros left he obviously has the biggest individual fanbase. In terms of star power yes it is difficult for DWTS to cast and I appreciate that, especially actors and musicians, because they know if they do the show and come out of it badly (either can’t dance or have a bad attitude etc) then it may seriously hurt their future career prospects. On the plus side, if you come off well then the show can be a fantastic springboard for young actors/actresses or musicians like Zendaya. It’s much easier to cast athletes who are considered big stars in their field (this season Derek and Nikki fall into this category). They are normally far happier to do the show because they know that they could suck, have a bad attitude, get eliminated week one, but they can just go back to their day job without any damage to their careers other than a nice big paycheck. Look at Floyd Mayweather back in the early seasons as a perfect example. A SuperBowl MVP isn’t going to get sacked by his NFL team because he sucked on DWTS. That’s why DWTS has the ability to cast some of the best athletes in the world but always struggle to cast well known actors, tv personalities or musicians.
  17. Jordan is nowhere close to bringing the biggest “star” on this cast. Derek Fisher, Nikki Bella, Drew Scott, T.O and Frankie Muniz are all far bigger “stars” than Jordan Fisher. The difference of course is that none of them are trained dancers unlike Jordan so of course he’s favourite to beat them all in a dancing competition. It depends what you know and who you know, for me personally the two biggest “stars” of the cast when I found out the lineup were Derek and Nikki. I bet Nikki for one earns more in a month than Jordan earns in a year and that won’t change if she gets eliminated next Monday and Jordan goes on to win the whole show.
  18. Thinking about it, this season is pretty much identical to season 17 a few falls ago. Lindsey is Amber Riley, Jordan is Corbin Bleu, Frankie is Jack Osbourne, Drew is Bill Engvall, Vanessa is Leah Remini. They even had a forgettable PLL star on that season as well (Brant?).
  19. Not really, she has the worst pro of the entire roster. A better teacher/choreographer and I’m sure she’d be doing better. The season looked good on paper but it’s just been boring. Lindsey and Jordan are just ten times better than everyone else and it feels like we’re just coasting to the finale where they’ll be the last two standing. Frankie is the people’s champ but he’s not a good enough dancer to win compared to the other two going off the last two weeks. I do think he’ll come third. Everyone else is just there and dancing for a position.
  20. That wasn’t the only song they murdered as well. If DWTS want to cost cut, get rid of the live band/singers and just play the tracks. I’ve lost count of the amount of dances affected this season due to that band/singers.
  21. Fully agree but I understand why he went. He was forgettable, because he kept getting stuck with average scoring routines early in the running order and people didn’t vote. Got sacrificed to keep the married couple narrative going strong. Nikki will be next, she’s another one that goes in the first hour pretty much every show.
  22. I hate Contemporary, I do hope from the three taking place we see something different and innovative from any of them. I understand it’s hard because the dance style is so beige. Pretty much every single story is a sob story as well, Jordan’s adoption, Lindsey’s dad passing away, Terrell’s grandma passing away, Victoria’s fight etc etc. Can’t we get one happy story for a change! Ironically it looks like the happiest story of the night based purely on the song choice is Frankie, and he’s going first. Damn it!
  23. Last comment from me on the issue. I thought it might have to do with Vegas as well. Then I saw that picture of Maks stuffing his face looking just fine. I think People have it right. Of course DWTS won’t air their arguments publicly as they’ve been shielding Vanessa all season. She’s a producer and judges favourite and don’t want to let on that everything isn’t rosy in the garden in the fear that she loses votes.
  24. You’ve hit the nail on the head for me. Combine that with Maks’ ginourmous ego and it’s only going to end in tears. Having said that, for Maks to actually give up on her is extremely unprofessional. Proves more than ever that he only came back for the money. The producers need to stop pandering to him because he’s one of their long time pros and retire him for good.
  25. I’m not suggesting that that People article is true but Vanessa has rubbed me up the wrong way since the first time I saw her. It wouldn’t surprise me if Maks has had enough of her. As for the show, Lindsey had the best dance. Frankie had his worst of the season. Jordan’s dance wasn’t really a Charleston. Nick was overscored again, Sasha’s jazz was awful. Nikki finally broke out from the forgettable pack with her dance and was badly underscored. Forgot about everyone else.
