I'd like to see them take on Darcey.

What WILL Family Some Meat do? Take away his allowance?

I am, because I am always wanting to model my fashion after the worldly, classy 90 day women...

Has Ronald ever been "sober" during their relationship? He may be a totally different person when he's not gambling, boozing, whatever.

My eyesight is still wonky so I read that as "smoking" and I was totally down with that. The show would be even funnier with a joint.

Paul is a gaslighter. He makes me twitch. Oh, Jihoon... Rather than using that time to secure housing, he quit his job. And yet I still prefer him to her. Eh, mostly. I have stenosis of an artery but it's not bad enough to require surgery,.

Yay, the band's back together! I am ready for shit to fly and blows to be dealt... I don't want to hijack the board, but I had a stroke on Friday. Reading through this entire thread is literally how I kept sane until they released me today. Y'all are doing the lord's work, I tell ya. If TeenMom Amber can claim that she is "helping" people on Twitter then you guys deserve something special. Princess toast with a buttery squid and steak (cut on the bias, of course)?

Americans and Brits don't need visas to visit Albania as a tourist. Myhusband and I went a few times. -
Paul & Karine: These Condoms Ain't For Sexin'
mamadrama replied to Drogo's topic in The Couples (Spoilers)
The last few weeks have been pretty rough. I'd gladly trade someone for a while! 😉 It's weird because, all of a sudden, I seem to be "popular news adjacent." My god daughter's husband is a local Americana/country music musician who's been trying to make it big in the industry for a while. We live in a tiny town, fewer than 10,00 in our entire county. Everyone knows him. Suddenly, though, our local singer caught on like wildfire and his latest record is selling millions, he signed on with Sony, he's been on most of the late night shows over the past few weeks, and his concerts are selling out in an hour. We also have a popular Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader from here (she was my daughter's gymnastics coach until she made the team) so I have a bit of tea on that show and those ladies, too. And then the 90 Day Fiance people. I had zero connections to anyone on television until about a year ago and now I feel like I could win a round of 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon. -
Paul & Karine: These Condoms Ain't For Sexin'
mamadrama replied to Drogo's topic in The Couples (Spoilers)
I literally saw them in person over the weekend. They were out to eat with the baby and all 3 were all happy, laughing, etc. I don't know how long Karine's been in the US, but I smell shenanigans. I totally think that Paul is just stirring up drama online so that it gets him the extra attention from Sharp. He doesn't want to quit the show. With that said, even if he IS embellishing some of what's going on, I still think Pole has some deep-seeted emotional problems and I'm concerned about Karine in ways that I haven't been concerned about other couples. He leaning over her and demanding a kiss, along with his passive aggressive pidgin English, was disturbing. Oops, sorry. I just answered this. I was starting from the bottom and working my way up. Yes, they were in Louisville last weekend. My son's been in the hospital there and I ran into the "happy" family at an area restaurant. -
One couple had an update show but haven't filmed since. They were both pretty private people to begin with and she wound up being very uncomfortable with the attention they were getting. She's a naturally quiet, private person and her personality just didn't really come out on screen. The other couple are still going strong. They got one of those cringe worthy edits where neither one of them look very good, but they're also having a ball being a part of the show so they don't really care. They're not so crazy about the way they're portrayed on air, but they love the production staff, like getting to know the other cast members, enjoy going to the tell alls and other media events, and generally just have fun with it. Everything we've seen on air has been "real" but some of them have been taken out of context or slightly embellished upon. Sometimes they will reenact things that happened either before the show started filming or things that were not caught on camera. Their friends were also on the show and they're not happy at all at how they were portrayed. This is why I think the fight between Evelin and Corey may have been legit. I think a lot of their scenes have been either reenactments or just an amplified version of reality. They may have put some limits on topics that they didn't want the other to bring up on camera and Corey crossed that line when he started talking about her cheating. I think that's why she kept saying "for real", because at first she may have thought that he was just playing a part.
-
So I have friends who have been on this show and I can say that, from their perspectives, they highly underestimated the way their "storylines" would affect them in the real world. The whole "editing shenanigans" has come up a few times, but for the most part the couples I know have been shocked at how narrow the scope of their narrative can become.

Deavan & Jihoon: 21st Century Super Sperm
mamadrama replied to Drogo's topic in The Couples (Spoilers)
I can't believe I'm saying this, but I actually like Devean's clothes. My husband describes my style as "some kind of witchy, beachy, southern gothic hillbilly" which is probably about as close as anyone's going to get to the way I dress. I'd rather look at Devean's clothes than Rachel's (as in Jon/Rachel/England). At least they're interesting looking. -
What, exactly, was Sumit's long-term plan for them? Was he going to just keep hiding her out for the next 20 years or so?
-
He comes across as very bemused to me. Like he understands English perfectly well, but he's not quite sure what all this other fuss with the cameras is about. At one point I thought that Avery even sprung it on him at the last minute. Or like Avery isn't actually taking any of this seriously, she just clicked on the first good-looking dude on the dating app and used him as a way to create drama and to get on TV and has no intentions of marrying him, but Omar wasn't brought up to speed by anyone.

Laura & Aladin: A Whole New World (of Shit)
mamadrama replied to Drogo's topic in The Couples (Spoilers)
Have none of these people seen BROKEDOWN PALACE? Foreign countries don't fuck around with some of their laws. -
Oddly enough, I'm starting to buy the Laura/Aladin relationship. In comparison to others like Mohammed, he seems to genuinely care about Laura, if not falling over himself with attraction. I'm guessing his endgame is to marry and then come over on a spousal visa, so he may be playing the long con, but after seeing her with his family it does feel like this may be one of the more genuine relationships. It's confusing the hell out of me.

S03.E10: The Rest Is Still Unwritten

Yeah, I don't think the two have to be mutually exclusive-I think he really IS kinda stupid and he's also playing us. Even if he's just recreating scenes, I do believe those situations actually happened to him. IF he truly was delusional enough to think Maria was going to show up and that she was madly in love with him, then what Sharp and TLC did was unethical at best. Encouraging this behavior and even rewarding it with payment. I would seriously question his personal safety if this situation is playing out as is because if Maria didn't show up, I could see him becoming suicidal and that's not cool. My guess, though, it that at least some of it is fiction. -
S03.E07: Love Is A Battlefield
mamadrama replied to Drogo's topic in 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days
Thinking about Avery... I get concerned any time someone dives straight into a new subculture or abruptly changes their entire way of living. For me the issue wouldn't be that Avery converted to Islam specifically, but that she did so so quickly and absolutely. Conversion to any religion generally takes a good deal of thought and study put into it. She didn't just change religions-she changed the way in which she dresses, acts, and dates. That's a lot of change in a short 6 months. I just finished up a roll of paper towels that I've had longer. Do you guys remember the teenage girl at Columbine who was shot after she was asked if she believed in God? I know lots of things have come out about that story since (like she wasn't the one who said "yes"), but at the time of the story the parents wrote a book about their daughter. Apparently, just a few months before the massacre at Columbine, the young woman was really into the goth scene. She dressed all in black, listened to metal, hung out with the "weird" (the kind that I like) kids, and was even into Wiccan type spells and rituals. The parents were freaked out and worried because it happened all at once. But then something changed and she left the goth scene to, instead, become full-force born again Christian. Again, her style of dress, music, friends, and belief system changed. The parents were overjoyed at this change in their daughter and were ultimately glad that she did it before she was killed. Personally, as a parent I'd have found both extremes worrisome. The Christian change may have been a relief to the parents because they felt it was the more acceptable belief system/way of living, but yo-yoing from one to the other like that would, to me, be a red flag. Perhaps it was nothing more than just a teenager trying to find out who she was, but still... I wonder how many times Avery has done this in the past-maybe not religion and maybe not to this extent, but I'd bet she has a history of such things. As a parent, my immediate concern would be the moving to Syria (which, I know, her mother supposedly doesn't know about yet). So far she hasn't really made any decisions that can't be undone, but moving into an active war zone is something she may not come back from. (I don't think she'll do it, though. I think she's just trying to shock us.if Omar wouldn't let her meet him in Syria then I can't see him encouraging her to move there.) -

At this point his naivete is so pronounced that it borders on lunacy and I refuse to believe it. He's gone way past delusional. -

Heck, if he's single then I might just attach myself to him. My husband and I were just saying the other day that we need a wealthy wife/husband to take care of us.
