Frankie Drake Mysteries - General Discussion
marina to replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Frankie Drake Mysteries
You go Flo! Love the romancing over science. Their scenes were what I really loved about this episode. Too bad he's moving on - I love that she got a hot man! The boxing stuff was really boring to me, although happy to see Frankie reunited with Moses. That's the one relationship of hers that actually feels real. (Although I did come around to Hemmy by the end - probably because he was never going to stay.) Everything else was a little better but there was way too much Frankie in this episode. Hope next week is better. They haven't really gotten a handle on it the whole run, although season 1 hair was the closest. -

I hope they don't go there either. Having said that, they can give her some internal conflict being drawn to both. Too bad I couldn't see William being open to other partners in the marriage - and I doubt the audience would be either. Nice to see Higgins being useful for once, even if he didn't plan to be. But overall, I just wasn't taken by this episode. I am looking forward to seeing what they will do with Robert Parker. Turns out the Homestead Riot was a real thing. -

I thought Agatha was fantastic. I too enjoyed it so much more than Murdoch. And if Grayson is gone, good riddance! My roommate pointed out that somehow Frankie knew the colour of the dresses Flo, Mary, and Trudy were wearing and got the perfect matching hats! Dammit, Christine Horne is a national treasure. Why she isn't famous I'll never understand. Oh wait, it's because she mostly does theatre. Really wish we had a star system for that like they do in England. I knew Ben Blais was in the episode (he posted about it on his Instagram) but didn't recognize him shaved. Fun to see him get the crap kicked out of him! -

I was really, really hoping that the woman he was with wasn't Effie. We get to watch her violate his boundaries again and again. Joy. I got the feeling that she was saying that because she had such a good time with Brackenreid and she was tired of being mad at him. This was a way to save face and appreciate that he was honest with her. If she blew up at him, then why would he ever be honest with her again? Overall, I was underwhelmed by the ep. Hope it gets better. -

Oh, forgot about that. Was thinking of the guy who set it all up. -

How was his death her fault? He was the one obsessed with her. He was the one doing all the awful things to get her attention. Why should she care? -

Ah, thanks @Idiotboy! I'm probably the only DanJan shipper here but I much appreciate it!

Probably the best description I've seen. He's a total wet blanket. -
Wow @aquarian1. I don't even remember that episode. I must have watched it and I vaguely remember a Charlie but man, didn't make an impression at all! On another note, did anyone go to the convention?

I know the actor who plays Flo and she's been posting from the filming of Season 3. Yes, they're having a ball! -
I didn't know there was one! Sadly, no budget for travel atm.

Doctor Who/The Sarah Jane Adventures: Crossovers
marina to replied to April Bloodgate's topic in Doctor Who
I had to rewatch the episode The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith for a fanfiction I wrote and I was impressed all over again how well the Doctor integrated into that world. Guess it helped that Russell T. was writing it. The story itself was really well done. Have others watched it? What did they think? -
Yeah, I do miss them. Especially the band names and the Happy X days.
-
Sadly, it did. Too annoying to die, perhaps.

Com'trya @AwesomO4000! Back in the day at TWoP, we had a bunch of fun things we used to do. They're captured in the TWoP Lexicon and addendum. Figured it's worth a repost. Love the costume! And thanks for the links. Although trashing Daniel is fightin' words!

My big problem with Hathor is that she rapes Daniel and attacks Jack (I'd consider what she did to him rape of a different kind) and it's played for laughs and never spoken of again. It's just squicky all the way around.
-
Vala. Vala abusing Daniel and it's played for laughs and titillation. And I really didn't need the duplicate replicator and the Sam-torture. The whole Replicator-Sam arc was just stupid.
-
Me too, @Idiotboy. I will never watch PU or Citizen Joe again. For S8, I want Daniel in suits and all the sweet, sweet Daniel & Teal'c scenes we lost when Vala showed up. Sadly, most of the Sam episodes were just bad. With Teryl and Don gone, the show lost it's heart. Jack could never be the cuddly commander that Hammond was and Frazier served a vital function of being someone the team could talk to who was not part of the team yet could be a good sounding board. The Priors were a great concept but horrible execution. As for SGU? Yeah, way to piss on the fans, PTB. I will never forget all the crap about how it was a show for grownups, UNLIKE SG1. Really dudes? Did you ever watch the show? Even Window of Opportunity gave you a whammy at the end.

Thanks @Idiotboy. I do love writing Daniel. Part of me really wants to go back to it but I have so many other things I need to devote time to I don't know how. I haven't watched an episode in years but I have so many other things to watch I don't know when to find the time. Martin Gero is involved with Blindspot so it's nice to know he's sticking with the good peeps he knows. I'm also really happy that Resurrection was the start of something pretty special. (I really liked that episode but I know a lot of people didn't.) I loved hearing her in the commentary talking about directing. She was so giddy!

Ok, finally posted to AO3. Going to FF.net next. My DanJan take on Daniel's head in Lifeboat. Lifelines

The handhold in Rite of Passage! *swoon* @Idiotboy, I will have to put my Lifeboat story up just for you. If I'm lucky, Janet will return to give me her side.
