  1. How could I forget Nick's current living quarters? A huge bar, a huge sectional sofa with nothing in that room that says "child lives here". Contrast that room to the hallway that leads to the front door that we see all the time in his house - that hallway looks a little warmer, and as far as hallways go, seems a bit more "put together". Such a disconnect between those two spaces, that hallway looks nothing like the main room we always see. Nick's living room or den (whatever you want to call it) really looks like a jumble of odds and ends with that stupid bar taking front and center. It's just bland and ugly....and I recall he "hired" a designer for that house! She/he should be shot. I always loved Lauren & Michael's space. Thanks for providing pictures of that @Cupid Stunt! Regarding the new Newman set - alot has changed. In the pic that @jewel21 posted (copied below), the fireplace is straight ahead, where now I think it's on the right of the set. I like their current set for their living room now better than before......it feels a little lighter. I posted a pic below.....different sofas (check out the arms in the before and after), no oversized brown-looking pictures on the wall in the new space, different coffee table, different lamp, different bar set-up and a different window - looks like one larger window where the fireplace used to be, so Victor can stare out of it while being contemplative about his next chess move! Speaking of the Newman's......we've talked about the infamous blue plate on the old set. Can we talk about this lamp? I hated it - every time I watched the show I was always drawn to how out of place it looked in a scene. I came across this picture while trying to find a picture of their current set and was reminded how ugly this lamp is. The base is fine, but that shade! The shade seems too high on the lamp, but sometimes they'd shoot a scene and that shade would be crooked! The height of the lamp on the table is just too large - it's almost as tall as Victor! - but next to that Queen Ann sofa, the scale of the lamp just looks "off". And that mural in Katherine's house! It took my breath away because it looks like the picture posted of it above was one of Katherine's final scenes, which always makes me cry. That mural, to me, is The Young & the Restless. Thanks for indulging me with this long post!
  2. Awwww. I checked it out.....I loved the end, when he showed the pic of the two of them in close-up and said "this was taken in Las Vegas, and Jeanne Cooper was a lot of fun in Vegas" He's a sweet man. And he looks great with the quarantine beard and longer hair!
  3. Thanks for this primer! We do have several Hispanic markets in our area and I was going to try there for juice, but now that I have your instructions, I may try to make a batch. It could be my next Corona project! I think I've only seen green fruits in my grocery store and sometimes they look a little shriveled up.....we have an H Mart nearby, too, and even though that's more of an Asian market, they carry all sorts of tropical and unusual fruits and vegetables, so I may try to look there, too. Thanks for all of the info!
  4. Thanks for your recipe for the Paloma! I drink them frequently......and agree with you, the versions made with canned soda are horrible! I have a friend who uses Fresca - talk about aftertaste! I make my own simple syrup and generally use pink grapefruits that I juice versus a carton of it. This past Christmas, I made them with blood oranges, as you suggested, and it was delicious! I'm going to have to find some prickly pear juice now! I see the fruit at the grocery store sometimes, but they always look a little intimidating.
  5. I forgot all about that storyline, the one with April and Paul. Poor Paulie! He always got wrapped up in some crazy woman's "stuff", didn't he? How he ended up with plain old, boring, Christine is a mystery!
  6. It's a difficult question to answer........what is super hot to you may not be to me and vice versa. I don't find it to be super hot. I've had another brand - can't remember the name - and it was so hot, I couldn't use it. I have tried the Meyer Lemon honey and I like it alot! I haven't tried either of the sirachas! I think I'd like them both, though! I LOVE Fresh Market!! I go there a couple of times a month to pick up odds and ends....I didn't know they sold this! I always get my Savannah Bee honey there when I don't want to order direct.
  7. took me a while to figure it out - I thought it was Lauren, too! But it's Eileen Davidson!
  8. You know, I often forget how much Nikki "gets around"........I just always think of her as the long suffering woman who puts up with Victor and likes to give women, mainly Sharon & Jill, a load of crap. She's had her fair share of dalliances, no? And to think - she's accused Sharon of being "trash"! Newmans gonna Newman!! (Sorry - I loved that line from Mariah!)
  9. Right? I was searching moss green sofa and realized I had Y&R in the search bar......I think it just pulled up any sofa from Y&R! Had to go make dinner. Can I just say, I am SO tired of making dinner..........I long to go out to eat, have a couple of drinks, socialize, eat, and eat some more from one of my favorite places!
  10. I was scanning google to find a picture of the sofa I'd like for Sharon - yes, in moss green - and came across this picture! It's the blue plate at the Newman Ranch! It's amazing what moss green will pull up in google!
  11. Your lamp and chair would be safe with me! It's the sofa I'm not fond of anymore!
  12. In my opinion, one of the best houses was Brad Carlton's house. I haven't seen it in years, so only remember it from back in the day. Maybe it will pop up again in one of these classic episodes and I'll get a chance to see if the memory of it still holds up! I think all we ever saw was the living room but compared to the dusty old Newman living room, it was positively modern. Ashley's breast cancer storyline took place there and I used to think she was so glamorous! I, too, like Sharon's little cottage! I'm sort of tired of seeing the same furniture in there, though. I miss the GCAC and agree that Glo Worm was really a pretty place. Didn't Glo-Worm used to belong to Neil, but called something else, of course. I also noticed that the Newman house has had some upgrades, with ceiling beams and such! I think that their sofa is the one that was used in Lauren & Michael's old place......... My least favorite set? Adam's penthouse....I have never liked it. Didn't care for it when it was Nick's, either. There's no warmth to it. Maybe that's on purpose, because of the inhabitant?
  13. I took a long break, as well, and didn't start watching regularly (via daily recordings) again until 2008 or 2009. I can attest to a love of Gloria......only because she was Cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs crazy! I loved those looks she'd give with her eyes bulging out and her nose up in the air.....I love how she'd wear sequins to work - she was always dressed to the nines! - and I loved how she just fiercely loved and defended her sons, no matter what they did. Everything she touched turned to crap, but she soldiered on.......
  14. I read on soaps.com that next week they'll be airing "classic episodes featuring Katherine Chancellor".
  15. I'm not a fan, either, of Heather Tom as Victoria. It's funny that @boes would post the Loony Tunes music! When I see Heather Tom, I think of Daffy Duck! That goes for her brother, too, who played Billy for a time. Don't like him, either, although I don't think of Daffy when I see him.
  16. Awwwww....that was awesome! Your hubby is so sweet to do that for you!
  17. I'd love a thread about the sets! I'm weirdly into that sort of thing, too. That blue plate at the Newman Ranch is a classic! **and I don't hate Theo. Unfortunately, I feel the writers have done him wrong. They don't know what they want him to be, so at times he's ignorant, others he's downright devious, and then other times he's someone you feel sorry for. They just need to pick a lane for him.......and maybe try sticking with it for more than one episode.
  18. What? You don't care about what happens to Theo, Victoria, Billy or Adam? (yes! I'm kidding!) I totally agree with you. I was trying to savor every minute of the show, anticipating being upset that this was the last show for awhile. When I realized it was just going nowhere, same as always, I was as disappointed as you.
  19. I am so glad you posted this picture of India. I saw it this evening on the news and don't know what I'm more stunned by - the before or after picture! Similar pictures of LA and other major cities in the US have been floating all over the web, too. It totally goes to show how we are destroying our earth. And what could be achieved. It is too bad it took a lockdown to prove it! And yes, every day IS earth day!
  20. Yes! It was that way for me today, too! Every once in awhile, like once a month, you see a glimmer of old Red.
  21. Ugh....I feel the same way.......Jack looking sort of devastated when Phyllis told him about Nick made me scream out loud! He is such a gentleman, though. I loved his response to her. I guess the writers decided that since Chelsea wouldn't be on today, they needed another woman defending her guy to the hilt, so Summer pulled the short straw. I can't tell you how much I detest these two women - Chelsea and Summer - being the Rah Rah Queens to their infantile boyfriends who, by the way, deserve to feel the way they do. I'm not necessarily a Theo fan, but it seems to me that it was always Kyle who started shit with Theo. I also wasn't happy with Victoria and her conversation with Alyssa today. Basically "sorry your dad was murdered, but what about me and us Newmans?" What was it that Mariah said last week? "Newmans gonna Newman? " This was a perfect example of THAT!
  22. Not just you - I feel the same way. I was staring at him today in his black suit, black tie and white shirt and thought he looked horrible. He looks sickly.
  23. I'm usually never right about these things...but I did think it was Adam or even his mom that killed this man and not Victor. I don't have much to say about today's episode. We'll find out about the story behind the story soon enough........why Adam killed Alyssa's father. Knowing Y&R it will be something lame, like it was an accident and Victor helped to cover it up or something. I was surprised that we learned so quickly the truth that it wasn't Victor, but I guess with motor-mouth Nikki, what do you expect? If I have to witness one more friggin' scene between Adam and Chelsea, where she's going on and on about how much Adam "deserved" this CEO position, I'm probably going to start throwing stuff at my tv. One thing that has sort of stumped me is why this Adam plays the role so scared all the time. The other ones were cocky beyond belief, I don't recall any of them ever looking genuinely concerned about anything Victor threw their way. I always notice that after Chelsea leaves the room, after lavishing Adam with heaps of praise, they'll flash to him, moodily staring out a window with a look of fear. Could it be that he knows he killed this man?
