  1. Hey @peacheslatour - just checking in to see how are you feeling, now that you have your cast? I don't think you mentioned, but is it your dominant hand that was broken?
  2. BLECH! Can you imagine waking up on Christmas morning to find that someone you cared about - and you thought that that someone cared about you, too - spent actual money to have Daniel Goddard give you a shout out or make a video with a personal message for you? That's called a GIFT OF SPITE! He's a hot mess. Eeeewwww....that hair!
  3. Happy Birthday, @boes, and make a wish! (my wish is that you'll continue to make me laugh and forget my troubles!)
  4. awwwww....you've gone and done it! Banksy AND one of my dad's favorite Christmas albums/musicians! Just as my husband treasures his father's Ramsey Lewis Trio Christmas albums (now recorded on CD), I treasure my father's copy of A Charlie Brown Christmas! My dad passed away 5 years ago, a week before Christmas - I miss him every single day of the year, but especially now, at Christmas. So to hear this, HERE and NOW, unexpectedly, gives me great joy. Thank you!
  5. My father in law was a beloved drive time radio guy for years and years in our area and he loved jazz. LOVED jazz. One of my husband's most cherished possessions are two Christmas albums by Ramsey Lewis that belonged to his dad. It's not Christmas in our house until these come out. Here's one of our favorites off More Sounds of Christmas by Ramsey Lewis Trio.... I hope all of you have a wonderful holiday - whatever you celebrate, however you celebrate, I hope it's awesome!
  6. Wow - your instincts and concern about him arriving were right! So glad that your husband was there to meet him in Honolulu. And I'm glad, as well, that you're having a fantastic time together!
  7. I am so sorry. Much love and peace to you and your family.
  8. Awww....he's with the angels in heaven now. Bless him and your family, especially your sister, in the days and weeks ahead.
  9. @jpagan05 - I'm hoping your brother got to Hawaii with no incidence and that the two of you are enjoying yourselves!
  10. I don't know exactly why, but I woke up thinking about you, @Cupid Stunt. Just wanted you to know that I still hold you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.
  11. It is hard. Even though I have two 4 year old cats that I love more than anything, I miss the one we lost 5 years ago, the day after Christmas. I was pulling out Christmas decorations and got verklempt when I pulled out the Christmas stockings....one for me and my husband, one for each of our cats and the original stocking with her favorite toys still in it for the one we lost. Love never dies!
  12. So, imagine you're sick with a bad cold, your husband's an insulin dependent diabetic who's out of town. You are desperately looking for cold medicine in his bathroom, because he always keeps this stuff on hand. He's better about being prepared for cold and flu season than you are. Luckily, you find some non-expired Dayquil, which means you don't have to run out to Target to get it. You also come across some wonderful cough drops called "Nice". They were so, well, nice. You eat a ton of these sugar free cough drops, which make your throat feel great, have a nice kick of menthol in them that helps you able to breath like a human being again. You feel awesome. Until a couple of hours later when, literally, the shit hits the fan! Your husband dutifully calls you that evening, you tell him that you must have the flu as well as a terrible cold. He asks what you're taking for the cold, you explain Dayquil and those great cough drops you found in his medicine cabinet. He starts laughing. Nice cough drops are sugar free. They had manitol in them. Luckily, they have changed the formulation. I guess we know why? End of my little story. Heed the warning on sugar free products that say "may have a laxative effect". They aren't joking. As an aside, products with a sugar free based alcohol, like manitol, are not calorie free. They have as many calories as sugar. So if you are choosing a sugar free product, check the ingredients - you may not be getting less calories but you might be getting a date with your bathroom for an extended period of time!
  13. Victoria gets all conspiratorial and spooked out when the lights go out due to a storm, yet misses all cues when it comes to her boyfriend's mental health issues.........said boyfriend has now quit his job to do "what?" "What?" is anybody's guess!
  14. Take good care of yourself and your family - all of you are in my thoughts and prayers.
  15. I remember those times with my own MIL quite well! One Thanksgiving, I forget what I was serving alcohol wise, but I always make a huge batch of something (this year it was Sparkling Apple and Cranberry Mules) as the main drink, along with the usual wine and whatever else someone wants, but she had a bug up her behind about wanting a rum and coke. Everyone else seemed to be enjoying what was on the bar cart, which did not have rum on it. Not her, she needed a rum and coke and wasn't going to be quiet about it until she got one. I was much younger then, hadn't quite developed my "WTF" look yet, and felt like she was just finding the one thing we didn't have and focused on it to be a pain in the neck. As my husband said, she was always a pain in the neck, so she didn't have to really focus on any one thing - it just came naturally to her! We aren't really rum drinkers. But my husband had a bottle of the high alcohol one, I think it's called 151. My husband (yes, her son) looked at me with a twinkle in his eye, smiled sweetly at his mother and said "yes, mom, coming right up". He thought it would calm her down, make her less bitchy. Three drinks later, she went to the bathroom and never came out. We sent a search party, and she had curled up on the floor and was passed out! Good times in the Lovemesome household that Thanksgiving! Bless her heart, she was such a piece of work. But we miss her all the same. We figure she's up in heaven complaining to God about how the silver isn't "gleaming" quite the way it would be had she been the one cleaning it, or some other such nonsense......!
  16. Wait.......!! There's a right and wrong time to drink on Thanksgiving? And I have to spend 30 seconds naked and spread eagled towards the sun so I can get sun on my bung hole and maybe live longer and better? This will require mass amounts of alcohol, I think. I'll report back tomorrow on how it went! LOL!!
  17. This is fantastic news! I am so impressed by you and your tenacity. Let's face it, when it's raining assholes, it's easy to fall into a funk. You haven't, you keep plugging along and I really admire you for that.
  18. And I am grateful for all of you! Happy Thanksgiving!
  19. Amen Keeping you, @pearlite, and your family - especially your sister - in my prayers.
  20. That Theo has got some real acting cred - Lifetime's Psycho Stripper. From the article, he explains how he couldn't wait to do this movie and also mention his "dancing" - which we all got a kick out of when we saw him "dancing" at Society, or wherever the F it was. (notice I put "dancing" in quotes.....I wouldn't call what he does dancing): “As soon as the director told me the title, that’s when I knew it was a project that I wanted to do!” he enthuses. “I love the absurd and I do think that we’re in a time where just that title is enough to grab people’s attention. There’s something about it that I really take pride in. Some people think I’m going to be embarrassed by it, but I really love that movie and I recommend it. The thing about that movie is I do like to dance, but I do very much dance in my own way [laughs].”
  21. I had the same thought as you......if yesterday's show was truly his last, the show has confirmed their "new normal" of not really developing the story and, more importantly, bringing their viewers to a satisfying end.
  22. Awww....too bad, so sad, DG. We will miss you- NOT! And how dare he bring Kristoff St. John into his goodbye! Pulling out all the stops, isn't he??
  23. Awww.....I can't believe it either, Daniel! Dreams really DO come true!! We really CAN have nice things once and a little while! **I am so not sorry to see this guy go.
