I'm going to disagree with this, it was totally the 90's! As a teenager of the 80's I do not remember ever receiving an award unless you were in 1st 2nd or 3rd. My daughters were born in '90 and '94 respectively and I remember them gettin awards for just showing up and being baffeled about how low the bar was set. -
I really wish JJ had given the wife an earful, this lawsuit was ridiculous. If the wife had an issue with the color she should have taken it up with the man who made the decision: her husband, not the defendant. Talk about frivolous, And the husband needs to grow a pair.

This is exactly what I thought! I can totally see the control issues the defendent mentioned, this guy was a big fat baby when he didn't get his way. One thing I see a lot on JJ and PC, women/men who claim they want nothing to do with 'crazy ex' yet they continue to hold on to items they were given/loaned/borrowed. If I were the defendent in this case I would have eagerly handed over whatever was his and blocked his number on my phone!

When I was in my best friend's wedding, the dresses she picked out were a mermaid style with a flair at mid-thigh. My other best friend who was also in the wedding was a size 20 at the time but she was a trooper and went to fittings with no qualms....until the bitch of a dress fitter pointed out that she wasn't built for the dress. Man, I've never wanted to punch someone in the face so bad. It wasn't like my friend didn't know she wasn't the right body type, why the fuck did that lady have to point it out?? Sheer evilness. My friend begged me not to tell the Bride what happened because she didn't want her to feel bad but I have never forgotten how awful that woman was. So that's why I love the trend of letting each bridesmaid pick out the style that suits her. I love this! My cousin's wife wore Chucks with her wedding dress, I remember thinking that was so smart! I hate those dye-to-match super uncomfortable ugly pumps they used ot insist every bride wear in my day! -

I don't think they select horrible dresses on purpose or to make the BM's look bad, the problem is the BRIDE likes them. My sister picked out and made the ugliest bridesmaid dresses for her wedding, Royal satin blue with a paisely blue & red patterned skirt. Myself and the other BM's were horrified to be seen in them but my sister thought they were da bomb! Still talks today about how wonderful those dresses were. They were butt ugly. I think the mistake most bride's make is thinking one-style-fits-all. Not everyone looks good in mermaid style or a sweetheart neckline. Bride's that allow the BM's to pick out a style that they feel good in get high points from me. -

I blame reality TV, too many brides & grooms these days feel that they are the standard by which they should live. A wedding I was invited to last year (but thankfully had to be downsized to 50 people due to covid so I didn't have to attend), the bride has been posting non-stop photos from it because "for all of you who missed it". Really? A pic of the bride & groom and few pics of the wedding party and the reception would suffice. I don't need to see all 90+ photos! I'll sit next to you in my rocking chair @Quof! I remember those days, showers were for household type gifts, wedding gifts were finer things or cash. These days most couples have already set up a household - nothing wrong with that! - so when I'm expected to gift them a $300 ninja blender or a $250 wine cart I roll my eyes. And then I have to fork over $$$ for the wedding gift as well. Sheesh. I've never heard it put that way, but that is exactly what they are and I hate them as well. All that's missing is the dowry and a cow to give to the groom.... -

Omfg, yes! And please don't invite me to the bridal shower unless I am your family member (within one generation) or close friend. I hate getting invited to showers when I barely know the bride and I'm expected to spend $$$, it's very gift-grabby to me. Yep, These whippersnappers have bridal showers, bachlorette weekends, spa days, etc. My daughter was in a wedding where she was expected to contribute and take part in all of these things, in the end with the bridesmaid dress and all that stuff she probably spent close to $1,000. What a waste. We call them "lotion boogers" in my house. -
Halleluiah! I am going to be cremated or have my body donated to science so my kids won't drag themselves to my headstone on my birthday just to throw some flowers on it and say a prayer. My parents used to drag me and my siblings to cemetaries to 'honor' our dead ancestors. I remember being cold, bored, scared and bewildered. I get much more comfort from the tea cup set that was my grandmother's and the beautifully framed picture of my great-grandmother as a young girl than I ever would from staring at her name engraved in granite. Getting back to the exhumations, my best friend had a stillborn sister (born in the late 60's) who was buried in a grave in our hometown. When my friend's mother passed away a few years ago she was buried in a cemetary an hour and half away (it was the mom's hometown) and they had the baby girl's body exhumed and moved to be buried with her mom. I thought that was very touching, yet there were people who were 'horrified' that the baby was 'disturbed'. Wth?

We might have the same cousin. Mine posts a selfie.every.single.place.she.goes. All day. The grocery store, the post office, the dog groomer, and if it isn't a a super close-up selfie, it's a pic of whatever she did or purchased. "Mailed this package to my daugher today!" with pic of box on the post office scale. "Can't wait to make these steaks" with pic of steaks in a grocery cart, etc. -
I watched several episodes over the weekend, I was pretty impressed. I do wonder though, why do people get so upset about exhuming a body if it will solve a possible crime? And I don't mean the spouse who may be the killer, I am referring to parents, sibilings, children, etc. Families object, get upset, one guy (a cousin of the victim) showed up at the exhumation with a shotgun, not wanting his cousin's body "disturbed". In that case the victim had been shot in the head by a shotgun, most of it was missing, wouldn't you want to find out who could do that? I'm pretty sure the victim would want his or her killer found, afterall the body is of no use to them at that point.

Dove soap has been my go-to for 20+ years, since my early 20's. I too struggled with acne and had tried all the acne prevention brands which only seemed to make it worse. I have not had an issue since I started using it other than an occassional breakout, and is not tested on animals. I commend you for your stance on the animal free testing. 🙂 -
Yes to this! Will made converse sneakers sexy!

This is interesting, I was wondering, just as @tres bien was, about what exactly this Noom thing was about. I did Beach Body for a while, it was a quality program if you don't mind grueling workouts and constant meal planning but as much as they tried to make it out as an easy program to follow I found it time consuming and stressful. Did I lose some weight? Yes. Did the workouts improve my body? Yes. However it was not something I could sustain, time and money-wise, for the long term. I dreaded the workouts, some were extremely difficult , even when modified and you need a lot of space to do the moves. The meal prep was an all day activity and a lot of meals had products that were expensive and, unless you have a natural food store nearby, difficult to find. I have had much better success with eating healthy and proportioned meals and running and/or walking for 30 minutes 4-5 days a week. When I say success, I mean I actually looked forward to doing it so I continue to do it. I feel the more complicated the diet/exercise plan, the harder it is to be excited to do it regularly. That being said, whatever works for those who need it is a good thing.

This is so true, my ex-SIL quit teaching as soon as she got pregnant. Her husband (now ex) at the time had a mid-6 figure job (this was in the early 90's) so they could afford it. Six months after the birth of her 3rd child he left her for another woman. He talked her out of a formal child support agreement saying he would always take care of his children. About a year later he quit his job and took an under-the-table paying job working for a friend's company. She eventually had to go back to work (married 2 other losers in the interim, that's a whole 'nother topic) but she missed 15 years of contributing to her SS and any type of pension or a 401k, she will be working well into her 70's, if she is physically able to. -

So true, I was on my own when my kids were 8 & 12, my ex-husband would not take them beyond what the divorce decree stated: every Tues 6:00-9:00pm and every other weekend. I was working 40 hours a week as well as helping with homework and chauffering them to functions and friends' houses and handling all the housework as well. It was tough but 3 of us got through it. Being a parent is hard, I would never point a finger at anyone who does it differently than me and say it's not good enough. -

I am going to add to this statement "parents who make choices based on their particular financial situation" as well. For my ex-husband and I staying home was not an option. We both worked full-time in order to keep a roof over our heads and clothes on our backs. I would have loved the option of working part-time at the very least but we did what we had to do to make a better life for ourselves and our children. I have no issues with SAHM/SAHD's, to each his/her own, but like all of you who have listened to them humblebrag and whine for attention, I'm sick of hearing about YOUR CHOICE. You CHOSE to have children and you CHOSE to stay home, good for you, but stop acting like you should be awarded the Medal of Freedom for it. -
Agreed, he seems to be getting better with every episode. TBH, in the earlier episodes Will was a bit off at first as well. He definitely got better with each season! The only episode where it seemed like the bladesmith was teetering on starting his neighborhood on fire was the guy who used a satelitte dish for his forge, the fire department showed up and told him he had to move it away from the fence line I believe. I loved the guy but he was a strange bird!

This reminds me of an issue we had at our office several years ago. We had a "Mystery Shitter". At least 2 or 3 times a week we'd find a huge, and I mean HUUUUUUUUGE pile of poop in one of the toilets. It literally looked like one of the Budweiser Clydesdales broke into our office and unloaded in the toilet. It was so large that it would not flush so we'd always have to call maintenance, those poor people, to take care of it. At the same time there was a young girl, I would say late 20's at most, who I would run into from time to time in the ladies room. Definitely had some OCD issues, I witnessed on several occasions when she would wash her hands she would wash all the way up to her elbows using a ton of soap. And she always got freaked out whenever anyone came into the bathroom when she was in it, it was a 2 stall bathroom so it wasn't like you had a private room. Anyway, if you came in to the bathroom she would move over to the wall and just stand there until you went into the stall and she would finish her scrub and practically run out. Very strange. After several months of the Mystery Shitter it suddenly stopped happening, at the same time that the girl stopped working for our company.

@janie jones you ARE married to my husband!! All I wanted was my damn toothbrush since his bowels apparently need 45 minutes to empty and I needed to, you know, GO TO WORK! Lol! We have the same discussion every time: "I don't want to sit in your lap big guy, I just want to get my **insert small item that will only take 2 seconds to grab**." Good lord, the faster I get out when he's doing his business the better!
-
@janie jones, are you married to my husband? We have one bathroom as well, and if he has to use it, trust me, it's more secure than Fort Knox. Wth dude, I've seen all your parts! Our next house will have 2 bathrooms. I wonder if even movie stars are like normal people as they age. I am by know means a crotchedly old lady yet but I do feel that I have less tolerance for the bullshit stuff nowadays. Although I ain't getting paid $$$ to host a national TV show because if I was I sure as hell would fake some enthusiasm! 😉

Happy Birthday @Mrs. Hanson! I'm 53 and my daughters already tease me about my 'old age'!! I gave up on IG and Twitter because I just don't get the draw of looking at strangers photoshopped pics and dumb comments, my kids just roll their eyes at me. I'm gonna get a(nother) sign that says "GET OFF MY LAWN!"
-
@Mrs. Hanson, lol, no he can't! I'm pretty sure he has no ide what one is either. I think these commercials are hilarious, there's nothing wrong with any of the "habits", it's just funny that we always turn into our parents. 🙂

I think she was a space cadet but I agree, the accident was not the issue, the repair was. The defendent was shady and had no intention of fixing her car. What is wrong with these women who so readily handover their hard earned money and freakin' dignity to these losers they meet and know for 72 hours??? Manny was an asshat douchebag a 100 times over, I could tell that just by his smarmy smile. I was in the online dating game for a while, as soon as "bankruptcy" or "back child support" came up I bolted. C'mon ladies, he ain't that good looking!!!!!! Ew, this case was so gross I wanted to shower in bleach. Both of them were disgusting. I remember that case! Ms. Bridezilla sure thought her poo was perfume, didn't she? The "Well everyone else gave me my money back, she should too" defense was ridiculous, as was her "DAY OF WEDDING" objections. Would you really pay someone that much money to NOT do any background/research? You think you're just gonna show up and they're going to have ESP'd all your ideas? I had 2 weddings that had to be downsized last year due to covid. In both cases the venue was willing to give back all but the deposit (a hefty chunk) as per their contract or allow them to postpone to 2021. I get that Bridezilla was disappointed but she signed the contract.
