  1. I agree with everything you wrote except the part about Kody being disgusted with Meri. I think he is so completely not in love with this women that he flat out doesn't care if she was in love with another guy. He is not responding to the idea that his wife fell in love with a guy (when she thought she was a he) like any normal boyfriend/husband does! That is because he has no romantic feelings for her, which on some level she must know and this is why she is so sad.
  2. I think Kody is much more attractive than Tony, in terms of looks, ability to communicate, intelligence, etc. I think that the Brown girls are choosing boyfriends who are less desirable than their father so that (on a subconscious level) they can have their man all to themselves and won't have to share him with other wives. The more I think about it they more I feel that the Brown family is based upon the unsaid fact that the women are not as attractive as Kody for various reasons. He accepts that each woman isn't that incredible on her own, but having several of them makes up for that fact, and he never feels disappointed with any one wife. This is why Janelle is the "easiest," because her weight lowers her self-esteem just enough that her expectations are really low and she is grateful for any attention from Kody. No truly hot and highly educated woman would put up with any of this, but it doesn't seem like the polygamous men would ever bother setting their sights on a girl like that.
  3. I got the feeling that money was an issue for Chantel's parents. They didn't mind their beautiful daughter having a poor boyfriend, but for a husband they wanted her to have someone wealthier. And this could have been the "unsaid" reason for why Chantel kept her big secret. Ultimately, her parents couldn't really get that excited over a guy they found really unimpressive.
  4. I had some thoughts on Nicole. I agree with what other posters are saying about her, but I also feel that she is the "scapegoat" in her family. The mother talks to her like she herself thinks Nicole is a loser. I also get the feeling that her siblings enjoy having Nicole be the scapegoat in the family so they can look better in comparison. This is a very common pattern in dysfunctional families. I also think Nicole had a very good point about Azan not showing emotion easily; some men are just like that. Also, I was somewhat annoyed with Alla's comment that Anfisa has a big heart. I don't think Anfisa has shown any evidence of having any heart, let alone a big heart. I think even Anfisa seemed annoyed and disagreed with the comment. Anfisa might have some heart for a few select people back in Russia, but that's it. Some people are like that. Everyone else is to be used or ignored. And Anfisa is wrong about Jorge only wanting her for her body- he obviously wants more than that from her.
  5. I'm not talking about just being thin, but they are usually thinner too-- people from many of these countries are actually healthier (less heart disease, diabetes, better skin, etc.) But they don't eat "health" foods and they don't "work out" like Americans.
  6. I agree. Alexei has the better face, but is too tall and lanky. Devar has a more proportionate body, but maybe too large a nose.
  7. Melanie has always been pudgy. Weird how the foreigners don't "work out" and are more in shape than the Americans who do. Explain it!
  8. I know right-- total lie right there.
  9. Okay, Okay, everyone is 100% certain that Mark is a creep, but I cannot give up hope on anyone! I think it is positive that Mark admitted that he is the one with all the baggage. This could be a step in the right direction, in that he is admitting he knows he is the one with the issues. Maybe with time he will realize that Nikki is not the ex-wife and he will come around and learn to not be so stingy and defensive. I think above all Mark is looking for somebody who is completely loyal to him, which is why he fears American "independent" women (I also think this is part of the draw to Asian women, including Kyle's draw to Noon). Again, in Mark's defense, American culture does "allow" people to easily move on from relationships and situations they find difficult. This can be good and bad-- I think it is possible that for men who want a partner who will stick by them no matter what, they feel that an Asian is less risk than an American. I believe that Mark will begin to trust more and more, and might even end up being very generous in the end.
  10. I agree! I had a baby at 36 and I can tell you that I don't have nearly enough energy for what a male toddler demands (little sleep plus non-stop on the go mischievous behavior). I have to say that I did have that much energy in my early twenties!
  11. I wonder if viewers are seeing Josh as immature because of his boyish face and soft voice; people might be judging him based on how he looks, which is much younger than he actually is. His features are nice, so maybe in 5-10 years he'll get a more manly look that matches his age and position. For now though, he does look odd as a soon-to-be father and husband, like a daddy-kid.
  12. Women choose abusers all the time, and they choose to stay with abusers. That doesn't mean they don't need help or that they are bad people for making the decision to partner up with bad people. Many people are codependents in some form or another and they need therapy to make them understand their patterns and find normal partners who can love them in healthier ways.
  13. I think both Loren and Alexei are extremely good looking, the best looking out of all the couples. I find it weird how everyone goes on and on about carolina and noon's looks. Did we watch the same show? I wish I was as pretty as Loren!
  14. I agree with this. In addition, I wonder if this is part of the attraction he has towards her. Somehow I can't see him getting so excited about dating a Mormon girl who is already a "good" girl. It's like she's his "project" and he's saving her soul and by marrying her he's fulfilled the most important part of his mission.
  15. I do think they are an example of opposites attract-- He seems emotionally disconnected and she has enough emotion for the two of them. I'm trying to get more of an idea of Alexei's personality and I don't think he has much of one. Maybe he's with Loren because she supplies the personality and he just passively responds to it.
