  1. I'm thinking the company only has three pharmaceutical sales reps.
  2. Could someone please clarify for me -- what is the significance of the newly revealed daughter for JR? How does this save the day for John Ross?
  3. So which Ewing will bite the dust tonight? If they are being literal, and it's a Ewing by birth/adoption rather than marriage we have as candidates: Bobby John Ross Christopher If being a Ewing by marriage we add: Sue Ellen Anne Pamela I'm not going to consider Ray, Lucy, Gary, James (?), Lucas or anyone else not coming to mind at the moment. The six I mentioned above are in the current series. Elena is probably pregnant with a Ewing but that's neither a certainty or a plot factor for the moment. It will likely be in coming attractions assuming they provide them. Because of Larry Hagman's death I doubt that the show would also eliminate Sue Ellen or Bobby. I think they are safe. John Ross, Christopher and Pamela are the three "young" stars along with the lovely Elena. I also doubt that they are candidates unless the show is unhappy with their performance or they have asked to be released from contract. I wouldn't miss Christopher at all. So that leaves Anne. She's about played out her usefulness and it seems that they've already introduced (or is that re-introduced) her replacement. I'd love to see Emma, Elena, and mama Ramos leave but they are not Ewings. I think that Bobby pick Anne to save rather than Emma but somehow Anne is a casualty in spite of this. Brenda Strong once said that the first thing the cast members do when they get the script is check the end to see if they live through the episode. I'm sure I read this somewhere but can't recall to give it a proper credit. I didn't see any reason why she should have been concerned at the time but maybe she was sensing something we didn't see. In any event we'll find out soon and I'm probably wrong. Meanwhile...completely unrelated to which Ewing doesn't make it....does anyone else find the opening credits where Elena is bouncing around, twisting to and fro in the pool hilarious? I think it's her idea of being flirtatious or appealing. Cracks me up every time I see it.
  4. The preview "Grandma's got a blow torch" more or less spoiled the fact that she made it to the final round. I was disappointed she lost, I liked her spirit and attitude.
  5. Interesting...I didn't like Tommi Rae at all at first but she grew on me as the competition progressed and I wound up pleased that she won. I hope she makes friends from this, she seems to want them. Disease-of-the-day-sob-story (I'm playing for charity!) didn't work this time although I certainly hope that the baby (cousin?) has a complete recovery and a full life ahead of her. Pulled on the heart strings but he didn't deserve to win for the story. His plates did look good though and I thought he was going to win. You just never know on this show. All in all I am enjoying the teen competition.
  6. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong....but didn't Jack promise to turn himself in (to be given to the Russians) if President Heller would let him take part in getting Margot? I may be mixing up a few things but I'm reasonably sure that Jack said he would give himself up and that's what he wound up doing.
  7. My money is on Jordan for this season's mole and also being the guy who set up Kate's husband.
  8. Does anyone else think that Caleb was way ahead in the voting the entire season? To me that offers a possible explanation for why Idol did not have Caleb address the "r*****" remark on the air. There was the distinct possibility that the remark itself would not be enough to cut into Caleb's votes -- as apparently it did not for the relatively small number of people aware of it -- and that they were risking tainting themselves in the process and bringing more attention to it during the post season discussions. I'm not sure, just trying to figure what they were doing with Caleb and Jena. After Jena began gaining votes I think they felt she would be the only one who could overtake Caleb and they did everything they could to make it happen and they almost pulled it off. The Jena pimping began before Caleb's remark but he had already shown signs of being a PR nightmare. Jessica paid the price and Alex may never have been getting the votes that die-hard followers of the show felt he was getting. Since they don't release vote counts it's all speculation. Another aspect of Caleb's win could be backlash for Idol forcing a female winner last year. Hard to say. And for a person who is saying she won't watch next year I'm putting way too much thought into it.
  9. First time that I haven't watched the finale and that is thanks to JLO. I did follow along on MJ's blog though and my husband, who apparently does not mind looking at JLO at all, shouted that Caleb had won. We both preferred Caleb to Jena and are members of team #anyone-but-Jena. Of course I've loved every one of you making fun of the way she speaks so she did contribute to my enjoyment of the season after all. Regarding the finale, isn't this the first time that the previous year's winner did not make an appearance? I think Lee DeWyze was in the audience for season 10, some sort of issue he had with the producers if I remember correctly. And this may be the first time after her season that Carrie Underwood did not appear. I think all former winners should at least be on hand to support the show. I know there were a few former contestants in the audience but other than P2 I don't think any winners were on hand.
  10. Hopefully this is the right thread.....does anyone know how to contact American Idol? In particular I guess I want the producers. I want to complain about the number of times Jennifer Lopez appears on screen in general and especially during the performances. I know I'm not the only one to dislike this but the past two weeks have been so over the top....gyrations....split screen with Alex's home visit.....and last night's focus on JLO when Caleb went for the big note in Dream On. Enough is enough. The show has become unwatchable (to me) due to the amount of JLO screen time.
  11. I am wondering whether the show coaches the idols in basic PR fundamentals and he didn't listen or whether they don't give such advice at all. He needs some help assuming he's willing to take it.
