S06.E09: There's Something About Harry
Lakewood27 replied to LotusFlower's topic in The Real Housewives Of New York City
I think the extravagance of the 50th birthday bash was all a big lark. I don't think Carole would have celebrated her birthday in such an OTT fashion, had Bravo not been paying for it. And I say, good for Carole! I'm tired of the rest of these raggedy housewives renewing their vows every 10 seconds or throwing lavish baby showers for their third, fourth, and fifth children. Carole is unlikely to re-marry while she's a cast member on this show. So why not throw herself an awesome birthday bash? I loved it. And she looked radiant. I'm sure Heather's peons were happy to be on TV. They were probably paid actors. -

Whenever Kim is conspicuously absent from the daily online tabloids, I assume she's being nipped and tucked in a cave somewhere. Hell, she probably has the plastic surgeon set up shop at Casa PMK. Yesterday, she posted a pre-pregnancy pic and hashtagged #skinny days. I assume she's being lipoed as we speak and will emerge in a few days crediting Atkins and vigorours exercise for her weight loss. -

This generous move will buy Aviva one week of goodwill. I am certain by the next episode she'll go right back to being the heinous, psycho hosebeast she is. I vaguely remember a few of Aviva's lovely charity events at the beginning of season 5, but they were negated by the back half of the season when Aviva just went full-tilt crazy. -

Once you've thrown your prosthetic leg across a restaurant, there's nowhere to go from there. It's like the Seinfeld saying about leaving on a "high" note. Aviva has served her purpose. Time for her to exit stag left. Jill is like that pathetic 20 year old who's still hanging around her old high school. Move the eff on, Jill Zarin! -
Wow, this could have been my statement on Bethenny. I didn't start watching RHoNY until season 3, so I empathised with her because she was going through so much turmoil. I supported her Skinny line, follow her on twitter, and watched her spin-off reality shows. This pyjama thing though, is so very creepy. And I agree that Bethenny isn't the marrying or mothering kind. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Kourtney manages to look stylish and comfortable while pregnant. Why? Because she knows what looks good on her and she's not dressing for attention. Kim was stuffing her pregnant body into non-maternity clothes. That may work on someone like Gisele Bündchen, but on a squat woman with ginormous boobs and a huge butt? Kim looked clownish and really uncomfortable the entire time. -

I buy that Kourtney actually exercises. That's why she bounces back so quickly after childbirth. ETA-- I also believe Khloe works out and seems very fit. I remember when she was doing that regime with the Game, that involved hiking up mountain trails. And perhaps she's less shallow, but she looks like a regular person when she's headed to the gym, and afterward. -

GaT, I thought about Kim being so vain as to bring her hair/make-up team with her to the gym. But that doesn't explain why she's untoned for someone supposedly doing weights and cardio. And why she couldn't climb the stripper pole to save her life. It's like she had zero upper body strength. -

Heh, it's a very close race between e-Boost and BLK water for most reviled 'Housewife' brand. -

GG from Shah's of Sunset was showing off her liposculpture, recently. They took fat from her abdomen and injected it into her butt and thighs. It's amazing how it completely changed her shape. She used to be very straight up and down, with a barrel-shaped torso, but now she's curvy with a sculpted waist. Basically, she got the "Kardashian special". Kim and Khloe can keep insisting they've never had plastic surgery, but there is just now way their butts are natural. I think Kim might have to stop at one child because she will no longer be able to find pants if she has another baby. And I have no actual proof of this, but I don't believe for a second that Kim works out. At all. It's not just the full face of make-up she wears to the gym, or not looking flush when she exits. It's also her utter lack of flexibility. It's like she's never stretched before. I noticed it in the pole-dancing episode. Everyone else (including PMK) seemed able to do the basic moves, but Kim's leg extensions and climbing maneuvers were weak. Like someone who's never physically exerted themselves. -
S06.E18: Something To Sing About

I don't think Sonja would mind getting older if she had a partner. To me she seems very lonely and full of regret. And I really think she is DESPERATE to make things work with Harry. Unfortunately, he doesn't seem like the kind to commit. She always looks wistful when she watches Ramona/Mario or LuAnn/Jacques. Like, she wishes she had a mate. -

Heather's saying it with too many syllables. It could just be a regional thing, but I pronounce it "entreprenure". It's like people who say "real-a-tor" instead of "real-ter". -

It wasn't so much Heather labeling herself an entrepreneur, it was her pronunciation. Like, "entreprenewer". Gah! -

Relatively speaking, being a 'Real Housewife' is a super easy job. Not nearly as grueling as a real career, like practicing law, for example. And unlike other shows in the franchise that seem to have never-ending seasons, the New York franchise has been very short. If Aviva called in sick this much at a real job, she'd probably be laid off. -

Part of me thinks that Ramona wanted to publicly humiliate LuAnn as payback for the wine trick she and Jaques pulled last season. Ramona was like a rabid dog last night because she'd probably been fantasizing all week about cackling at LuAnn's pitchy warbling, and she was pissed that it didn't go accoding to plan. Mario's voice isn't bad, but he has zero stage presence. Heather's voice is just okay, but she makes up for it in charisma. -

The intern likely only knows Ralph Fiennes as Voldemort, not from his heyday in The English Patient. Heh, I remember Kim stuffing her face during her procedure. If you're firming up or just trying to relieve some bloat, it does work. They can also freeze the area and you just pee the fat out. -

The only place Sonja has heard Mario sing is... the shower? Hmmmm. Fueling those threesome rumours. -

Ai yi yi. Kristen's whining tonight was off the charts. At one point when she was burning those potatoes, her whining was so high-pitched all the dogs in my building started barking. Yes, Josh is a total dick, but I cannot take Kristen's bullshit. Ramona thinks she's bloated from missing a few workouts? And not the gallons of Ramona Pinot? Her body is still pretty fantastic, though. I can see why Lu Ann was demoted to friend of. That doggy photo shoot was pointless, and it seems like the strain between her and Jacques was really evident. Steering clear of her personal life was a smart decision by the producers. -
This made me giggle for a full minute. Just the thought of their mountain of LV luggage sitting in the lobby of the Motel 6 is cracking me up!

S06.E16: Go Yell It On The Mountain
Lakewood27 replied to LotusFlower's topic in The Real Housewives Of New York City
The crying and whining. Kristen needs to toughen up or something. I would want to smack her after an hour of her constant belly-aching. Montana is beautiful and all that, but the trip looks so boring. St. Barth's was so much more fun and exciting. Especially for us viewers at home who may never get a chance to see it for real. -

Ugh, Sonja. Her behaviour is so gross this season, she's actually making me side with the Countess of all people! Day drunk is not a good colour on Lady Morgan. Carol's wardrobe is um... Eclectic? That 1950s pink evening gown? With pigtails? Oy. I'm officially over Kristen and her bullshit. Did not need to see or hear the ladies wizzing in the bushes. No wonder Ramona is hot all the time. She's wearing a leather coat and riding boots in the dead of summer. The geo-cashing looked hella boring and stupid. I'd rather drink a few beers and relax. -
I agree with you 100% drivethroo. But it sounds like neither of them have a clue about marriage. I didn't like Kandi's eye rolling and stink face every time Todd mentioned anything about Mama Joyce or the prenup. And I didn't like Todd's "turn down for what?" attitude, telling his boys that he intends to keep ripping it up until 5 am, after he's married. For two people in their 30s, they both seemed awfully juvenile last night. Kandi needs a plus one for events and Todd needs Kandi's industry connections for a leg up. As soon as Kandi decides she's over it or Todd has stacked up enough coins, the marriage is dunzo.
