I finally got caught up, after vacation and lots of family drama. I think they're all playing some kind of game but Fernando and Ky. Ky was sorta kinda playing the game, but came to her senses. At this point, I want anyone to win but Jeff and Patrick.

He said it was on the thicker pieces, so maybe they were just too thick and held the moisture. From what I gather, jerky has to be super thin in order to dry properly. William's grouse snaring impresses the hell out of me. So freaking patient!! I'm rooting for him.

Anybody think Gary intentionally let that meat go bad? He can eat it, but Fernando can't. I still think there is a lot of producer input in this season.

I don't watch live, so that's why the length really doesn't bother me. I can watch some on Friday, then some on Saturday, or watch it all on Sunday. It's not like I'm going to be spoiled that Jake got tapped. I can only remember one time that I was spoiled on a survival type reality show. So I'll just watch at my leisure. Most of the time, I'm watching over 2 days because Mr. Max gets up for work stupid early, so he's usually in bed by 7:00.

Me, too! It would have been so much better if they would have run Australia after the Arctic had finished. The length doesn't really bother me, but with the extended time, I'd expect to see everyone each episode. Just because Timber is entertaining doesn't mean you need to have him on the majority of the episode.

Why do they have to trade 2 knives for the fishing gear? One knife and half the gear? That way everyone is happy. I'm thinking this is so very much scripted now. Why would Gary go to JEFF of all people to show him the watering hole? Why wouldn't he make the above trade with Ky's group? Dani was never like this in other challenges. I think they know that Jeff is very much hated and probably on one of his last challenges, so they're building up some new assholes for us.

Yeah, he stabbed a musk ox to death and people didn't like that much. I wasn't a fan of his because he was very blah. He wasn't funny, he wasn't friendly, he was just...there. Now, just so you all think I'm nuts, I don't like Timber because he's too out there. It's a fine line...

How many times this season have we heard "Oh, I forgot the camera, but look at what I got when I wasn't filming?" So they don't have the cameras running constantly. Yeah, I think some are eating forbidden game.

It felt to me that Jake was hoping he'd be med tapped, and he got his wish. "I'll die first" usually means they won't make it.

Truthfully, I think they all ended up assholes in both the last "Last One Standing" and will probably do so in this one, even my favorite, Fernaaaaaaaaaando. But Jeff is just a bigger a-hole than the rest, both for his shenanigans on and off the show.

She screwed over Jeff, and that makes it cool in my book.

I can see the younger people maybe tapping because they couldn't handle the absolute lack of connection. But older folks who didn't have a cell phone at a very early age should be able to cope better. Funny you talk about being isolated. I think quite a few of us had that during the pandemic, but we could always reach out via phone/text/email if necessary. I had always said that I would be perfectly fine alone, but for the first few months, when it was just me and the cat, (Mr. Max being an "essential worker" and my son in the military) I was starved for face-to-face conversation when Mr. Max got home. Of course, I acclimated and was damn sad to leave my five day WFH gig when we were called back to the office a few days a week.

I think we're all hate-watching this season. I will say I was happy that Russell and Lacey were first out. Now let's have Jeff go next.

EXACTLY!!! That is one of the things that bugged me about her. I can hear it now. Glad I won't have to listen to that voice again.

This is what irritates me. Thousands upon thousands of people wanting to be on the show and they keep picking people who can't handle the isolation. I'm 100% sure Michaela was picked because of the indigenous woman angle, but I swear, if I took a shot every time she said she was indigenous, I'd have passed out. I'm glad she's gone because I just couldn't take it anymore, especially when she misidentified the plant. Timber is getting on my nerves, too. I hope he is the one pulled, but I highly doubt it. I'm sure he's eating that moose every chance he gets. He's no Dave.

Exactly. I was so happy Sam won in his second go 'round, because I did really like him, even though I liked Alan, season one winner, the best. I'd love to see another second chance season. Unfortunately, they haven't had those for a while. If they aren't going to have those, then they should give us an update as @meep.meep suggested. I didn't think of it that way, it actually makes sense. I thought he had the guts (pardon the pun) to go all the way, but I didn't take into account what leaving the family may have done to him.

I had Dusty on my short list to win. Sucks tho, to have stomach and bowel troubles, especially out there. I knew the food caches would be an issue. Poor William, but DAMN, how talented to catch those birds like that! Those burns looked nasty on Jake. How the hell is he going to keep that clean?

My biggest hateful commercial right now is for USAA. "And Luna, when she's....born..." like is she gonna hatch or something? It just rubs me the wrong way every single time I hear it, which is often because it's like the only commercial on the channels Mr. Max watches. 🙃

I think watching this episode and the last while drinking heavily was not a good idea. While there were many gross-outs, and the reveal of JDM/Kessler being a hallucination that 90% of viewers already knew, I almost teared up at Kimiko's note to the police officer at the jail. She had nowhere else to go. So heartbreaking right on the heels of Hugh's death. This show isn't supposed to make me feel.

I agree, but it kinda threw me when one of them, maybe Shell, said "No one tapped!" There were definitely taps. But what I really liked about this season is that every female that started finished. I've always enjoyed the return home scenes. Not so much the eating scenes because all I can think about is them gorging themselves and being sick later. I also miss when they used to do a reunion show with everyone on the 40 days, even those that tapped. They stopped that around the start of Covid, I think. Could anyone tell who was on the plane at the end behind Heather? Was it a crew member or an early tapper? I tried to pause the recording but I can't tell.

This is what I don't get. The show is called Alone. You will be Alone. You don't think you're going to have a lot of time to..uh...think? It just irritates me when people tap because they're alone. Duh.

I think this will be the season of "What did the winner say?" I think Dusty and William are the ones that will go the distance. I found it funny that Michela thought she knew so much, but oops, you don't know everything. And it totally did look like blood. Mr. Max actually thought it was until I reminded him of the berries. I still don't understand why these people go on this show thinking they won't have to, I don't know, think? Did Peter expect he would be so busy all the time that he wouldn't have time for introspection? Did he not watch the show? It always bugs me because I think of that 11th contestant who didn't get in because someone didn't realize they'd be alone with their thoughts or that they would miss their family.

Pretty sure I heard that too. And yeah, that shit eating grin was why I think he wasn't sincere in his apology. Thanks for this. Kinda sucks, because I really didn't like Last One Standing and am not really planning to watch this one. Mr. Max will and I'll probably get sucked in anyway.
