I wanted to hear what Abby had to say. She started with, "I'll tell you why that won't happen." And kept getting cut off. I wish Whoopi wasn't as gentle and cut Meghan off so others could speak. I wonder if the View will follow Jimmy Kimmel and The Real in giving money towards those affected by the shut down. It's easy to talk about it and be passionate, but I'd like to see them put their money where their mouth is.

So Meghan mentioned her dad already, so I think AOC is safe for today.

Abby isn't that much older than me, but she makes me feel old especially when she asked what a mortar and pestle is. I saw that and thought, "Wow I feel old, how do people not know what that is." Then I looked up her age and found that she was older than me lol. That made me laugh. Speaking of which, I thought Abby was great in the first conversation today. Abby, Joy and Sunny have a comfortable vibe with one another where they can state their views and still joke with one another. Whoopi and Meghan......they can get better at it.

We'll have to agree to disagree. :) I didn't mean that they'd just bring up Obama or Hillary whenever, like Meghan does. But someone who is critical of the left without being a Republican. So if a topic comes up about whether Hillary was shafted due to her gender, they can say something similar to what I did above. Her gender did play a role in why many people hated her, but for others they disliked her for these various reasons. Hopefully, they'd still bring up that the current administration is horrible as well. I dunno. I think it would provide a more nuanced talk on issues as oppose to whataboutisms.

I would love this as well. My only concern is if it Meghan starts using this as an excuse to hate on HRC, since we all know that the reason why Meghan doesn't like HRC is due to her being on a different team. It would help the show though, because that voice isn't on the table and no one really discusses these things on TV. You're either for her 100% (Whoopi, Joy, Sunny) and will defend her no matter what, or you're either against her 100% (Meghan) and will bash her whenever you can because of politics. I think Abby mentioned that she reluctantly voted for Hillary since she doesn't like Trump and mentioned that Meghan's husband was shocked that Abby and her husband did that. But Abby, as much as I think she's fine, doesn't really express her views all that much when it comes to politics and speaks on both sides while leaning on the right. The show needs an Ana, but on the left. Someone who is critical of Obama and Hillary, but still has left leaning views. Maybe when Abby goes on mat leave we'll see someone like this.

For some (maybe more) HRC being a woman was a problem. But, there are others who don't like her for very valid reasons. She was loved by many and had a hard time due to her vagina, but people like me disliked her due to her foreign policy record. She apologized for some and praised herself for others, but the lives left behind doesn't change due to her words. I do think her femaleness was an issue for some. But I wish the View had someone who had an actual valid issue with HRC just to provide a different point of view. As for R.Kelly I think those in the black community is so use to people going after black men with no proof and ruining their lives. R.Kelly was huge, so people were more protective. But the women he targeted were black women who no one really cares about, which made people overlook it. It's a shame too, because it was known for so long.

The ladies spoke about how women have to be seen as likeable if they want to run for president and how everything they do can be seen in a negative light. The entire time I thought about Whoopi's unwarranted rant on AOC who just said that Democrats need to do more, while remaining respectful.

I think Meghan will love her. Not that Malala isn't great, but whenever a Muslim woman speaks out against Muslim men or their culture, then they're always seen as a beacon of everything holy for the right. A regular Muslim woman is nothing and needs to go back home, but one who says anything negative about the religion or what non Muslims think is part of the religion, then they get praised. That's why I think Meghan will love her. Edit: this isn't a dig at Malala. What she went through is horrific and I'm glad she's doing well and making a difference. But as a Muslim female, it's something I've noticed when it comes to promoting Muslim women. There's a certain way we have to look or be presented. I'm glad Malala mentioned that people assume that men from these communities are horrible, but there are a lot of great men out there.

What is Whoopi talking about? I thought Meghan was fine when she was talking today during the Elizabeth Warren segment. She stated her point clearly, didn't look at her notes and it felt like she was having a genuine discussion with the others. More of this kind of Meghan please. But Whoopi going on a rant about AOC was too much. Ms Cortez just started and is getting attacked by both sides. Let her breathe a bit and do her job before ganging up on her.

I had no clue that the Golden Globes happened last night. When I was a kid, I enjoyed award shows, but they're kind of boring now. At least they've been boring for a long time now. I'm glad Spider-Man won, because a lot of animated films, like the Lego movies and Captain Underpants, keep getting snubbed for reasons unknown.

This is a pretty decent week. I'm surprised. I don't think everyone will be at the table during Malala's interview and for Kamala, I suspect that Meghan is getting ready for her gotcha question while Abby asks about whether Kamala will run in 2020. If Jamie is cooking something, then I bet Whoopi will be munching on everything while the audience laughs and Jamie rushes to finish whatever he's making.

Meghan mentioned the three branches of government, while Abby mentioned that Ocasio-Cortez has a lot of big plans but hasn't really explained how she's going to accomplish them. This kind of goes back to a point I made earlier about Meghan agreeing with Abby on everything even though they kind of view things differently. It makes it seem like Abby and Meghan are one person, when they're not. Meghan has said "I agree with Abby" and then launched into a meltdown before, even though Abby's point was different. Abby has many flaws, as do all of the women, and she may agree with Trump on a lot of things while not showing it on the show. But I think Meghan is trying to put the two of them together so Meghan doesn't get as much heat as before. She can say, "People hate me even when Abby agrees with me." I'm reading in too much with it, but it's something I've noticed. Doesn't Lindsay Graham swear on TV a lot? He recently said bullshit as well on TV just recently. I hope it's not off topic, but a certain someone said the c word towards his wife while on the campaign trail before as well. I believe the quote was, "At least I don't plaster on the makeup like a trollop, you cunt." Not to mention that the President called African countries shit holes and used others. All three of them are Republicans and it's apparently okay to curse if you're part of that side, but if you're a Democrat then you can't say anything? I don't get their logic. I'm glad Joy was the only one commenting back about the hypocrisy.

It's another woman of colour standing firm on their convictions which terrifies the other side. Like Joy alluded to, what is the difference between with what she said and locker room talk?

Hmmm, I've noticed that Meghan will try to cosign whatever Abby says without actually saying something. Meghan kept going back to the Ann Coulter joke over and over again, while Abby tried to look for the positive and bring up work growth. It might be Meghan's view, but just agreeing without actually saying anything seems odd.

I still didn't watch yesterday's episode, so during a break I decided to watch some of the clips from Youtube. I just watched the Louis CK one that was almost five minutes long. After I finished there were still commercials playing on TV. Not just one, but two or three. This show has longer commercial breaks than actual segments. Why can't that change for the new year?

But Abby is still miles better than MM. Her disagreements don't feel like attacks and even when she is trying to defend Tucker Carlson, she is still nice about it and listens. She's similar to Paula in that sense that they could come out and say some messed up stuff, but still get along and not ruin conversations. With MM.....every conversation is a void and she looks miserable right now. She's tone down, which is great, but she is also feels like a fish out of water right now.
