Spoilers and Speculation

Maybe it'll be the same Walker that ate Lori that will eat Rick! Now that's love! (Yeah, I know. That Walker was killed. But a guy can dream, can't he?) And should I wonder—or not—why Sarah Wayne Callies isn't spending a few seconds in the Rick send-off? -

Good point. I'd forgotten about that person. That would give them a good way of "temporarily" making Maggie disappear without a knife to the head. (And, yeah, from what I hear she's "hopeful" she'll get a new show. She does have a few things coming out, so she is getting work. Other than Norman, what other actor wants to go to a job where every day of the week you have to get "made up" to look like something found dead on the side of the interstate? Although Lauren Cohan has largely managed most of that. She seems to look good no matter what the scene calls for.) -

I realize that the immediate issue is the saying goodbye (cue violins) to Rick. (BTW, I'm in the camp that says he'll be carted off in a helicopter, fate unknown.) But what's interesting is that Lauren Cohen is leaving the show the episode right after Andrew Lincoln does. And from what I hear, her departure is much more open-ended, which to me means she Maggie won't die. Well, how is she going to leave? Especially now that she has a kid? Although I don't want to see Rick die, and I don't really want to see him leave for some vague reason, I get that the actor is tired of it all. (And there are probably many reasons lurking there.) So, I can see Rick's departure/death/what have you will have a certain more permanence to it than Maggie's departure. So, who and why will she leave? Will it be out of spite because she can't kill Negan. And what's aggravating—at least to this viewer—is that I know (and it's not from spoilers) she won't kill Negan, and it's because—even more so than Rick in the first eight seasons—Negan has a cloak of invulnerability surrounding him thanks to Kirkman's man-love. -
I have always heartily embraced the idea that if we are going to have wars (which I’m against) then both sides should sit down ahead of time and pick a color for a uniform. Of course, thanks to the much-used term “red shirts,” no one will pick red. And, I suppose, no one would want yellow, unless their leader is Col. Sanders. (Yes, I stretched for that one.) And Daryl’s called dibs on the color he’d want: mud brown.

I was wondering: Is there anybody left over from the original Alexandria? I know we talked about Francine last week. What about that big guy who sort of had the hots for Carol ... is he still around? I guess what’s her name who had the hots for Carl, even though if memory serves she wasn’t from Alexandria. (And BTW, I honestly can’t remember their names because there are too many characters, and most of them only show up about every 7th or 8th episode.) I know Aaron is still around, even though his boyfriend was killed. But they’re dismembering Aaron piece by piece. Pretty soon he’ll just be a trunk like the knight in the Monty Python movie. So, basically, Rick and his people are like the crows. They’ve come in and taken the spoils of someone else’s hard work.

And that’s how it should end. No shit.

Instead of a can of worms, this is a can of Walkers.
-
Gee, maybe a Negan will kill himself. Won’t everyone feel foolish then?
-
Tell me about it. Have I introduced Mrs. Crazy to the crowd yet?
-
Don’t we already know it?

Michonne showed him!

It’s his short hair. Makes pronunciation better.

How do you make someone eat? Hell if my mother couldn’t do it, no one can.
-
Everybody’s bugging me.
-
That’s more backstory than most characters get.
-
Did he look like her husband/boyfriend?
-
Let’s do another time jump, and have someone explain what happened. That’ll save us the wear and tear of watching.

Thanks. I knew he had the courtesy card, but I thought I heard him say (again old ears!) as they were on the phone, “No. Not Uncle Jaime.” But that doesn’t make.
-
One thing I missed, though I think it was explained (but I missed thanks to my old ears.) Why did Eddie get the call about Danny’s son? She’s not a Reagan yet, and probably not many people know they’re even dating yet.

Interesting point. Where is the difference between what Arat did and when Glenn killed the guy in his sleep? Is it only because Arat acted like Negan does with lots of swaggering attitude, and I'm only assuming this since we didn't see this particular scene, but I can imagine her acting obnoxious, whereas Glenn was contrite? But then that raises another issue with the whole "stand trial" thing—extenuating circumstances. And there are plenty. For nearly everyone. Like someone above mentioned, it would have to be done based upon a war tribunal system since in war lots of things get . . . overlooked. But I think the comparison of Arat and Glenn is a good one to show the problems with "judging." Both of them were trusted lieutenants as opposed to "hired muscle." They both had a voice in things. And they both killed in cold-blood. Okay—now what?

A trip down memory lane: The last Star Trek movie that featured Captain Kirk also featured Captain Picard. A passing of the baton if you will. Well, TPTB decided to kill Kirk so as to make the transition complete. (And probably to get Shatner out of their hair.) Well, they not only kill the character, they do so in the most unheroic way imaginable. He falls off a collapsing bridge and gets crushed (maybe even impaled) by the broken pieces of bridge. He lives for a few minutes to say his goodbye to Picard. That was it . Supposedly, Shatner was livid as were nearly all the fans. The great Captain Kirk dies by falling down a hill?!? Now here we have Rick dying by getting stuck on a piece of rebar?!? Really? -

I realize these are "leaks" and might be untrustworthy, if for no other reason then TPTB might have a hand in it. (I mean, who knows? Look at Nixon and Watergate.) But I read earlier in the day that Rick fell on rebar two times (as in two different times. Now what are the odds of that? So that's suspect.) But the other thing I read was the closing shot of the episode in of Ricks's bloodied boots walking. Somehow he'd gotten himself unstuck from the rebar. (Ouch!) Now you don't just pull yourself out of rebar and go make yourself a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. So, I think we're going to have some Glenn/dumpster trickery. I think TPTB was originally going to kill Rick, no ifs, ands or buts. But then something happened. AL was reportedly pissed by what happened to Riggs. Maybe AL overreacted and shot off his mouth. So TPTB said, Fine, we'll kill you too. Maybe one or both sides cooled. Maybe the audience let their feelings be known. So . . . just maybe ... they reshot the end to leave it open-ended. (I seem to remember something how AL had to come back to the States after he had left.) And I find it darn interesting that the helicopter has just ALL OF A SUDDEN reappeared, with this cryptic A and B nonsense. Maybe they (whoever they is) knows or suspects Rick is the key to the disease so they capture him in a weakened (or even dead) state to STUDY him. And maybe he'll come back -

I think the helicopter will come into play. We will see what appears to be a dead, or soon-to-be-dead, Rick Grimes being loaded unto a helicopter by men wearing white haz-mat suits. And that's it. No one else will see it. Someone, or many, will have seen the bad shape Rick was in, and they'll hunt for him, and maybe they'll find his horse who's been (again!) chewed upon by Walkers. Maybe they'll find his gun. ANd they'll figure that Rick is now inside hundreds of Walkers' stomachs. Meanwhile, he's being flown to .... where? At the same time TPTB are desperately hoping Andrew Lincoln gets bored staying at home. It's Glenn under the dumpster, but it all comes down to money and contracts and how bored Andy gets. TPTB may be thinking this will keep the audience actively involved. Will Rick come back ... or won't he???? -

I knew I didn’t have all the facts right, but I knew enough to suspect TPTB had screwed up. And now they are making it worse by making the series-long “hero” look like an idiot largely BECAUSE of . . . Negan. Like I said, Ruck is not perfect and I know some don’t like him, but this show is Rick’s show. I hate that they are cheapening him.
