  1. You may be right but I don't see it. I think it will be JoJo or Caila and to be honest I'm starting to think I would prefer Lauren H. Her accent is grating but her ability to laugh at herself was really refreshing. I'm not really sure who I would like best until we know the choices. I have to give it a few more episodes to form a opinion. We all know a lot can happen from week to week. I think she wears a facade of confidence when really it's just delusion and no self awareness. Funny part is unless he's being told to keep her around (which could be true in part) Ben's fell for every bit of it. At least up until Emily put doubt in his mind. We'll see how that goes next week.
  2. I think the thing for me was that before Ben's date with Jubilee I thought he was attractive and articulate but really not much different than any other Bachelor we had seen before. In his date with Jubilee though he actually acted as though he was looking for something more real and substantial. It seemed like a real world date complete with accepting flaws and enjoying that she was wasn't just some cookie cutter cute, meek, fake clone like many of the women who appear on this show. A poster mentioned that they didn't think for one minute that Olivia was really into Ben. I agree and that's my point. I don't think many of these women are but Jubilee honestly seemed to be. That's the irony of this show though. For me, and I think possibly other viewers, it allowed us to think there may be hope of some sincerity in this for the most part fake entertainment show. So it was kind of a let down that Ben really wasn't that much different after all.
  3. Has anyone saw any clips or instances where Olivia interacted with the other women on a friendly companionable level? Because I'm wondering how much of her craziness is editing or real. We know they edit as they see fit but I have a hard time believing that anyone would purposely act like this at the producers whim. Which means she's either really that delusional and crazy, being paid to act, or not being paid but foolishly playing for the cameras at the hopes of some elusive fame. If we're to believe they did selective editing of Jubilee (as evidenced by JoJo's comment of Jubilee not being her normal fun self and I saw a clip myself of her having fun with some of the girls) then it would stand to reason their doing the same with Olivia. But I have yet to see any footage of her being anything but condescending, smug and delusional. Why would she be playing a character that makes her look so bad? She had a good career. Why would she jeopardize her credibility? Which brings up another question. If she's not acting how did she make it this far in her career with her screwed way of thinking? I can't imagine what it would have been like to work with her. Then again maybe she quit her job because her behavior put her on bad terms with her employer and she saw the writing on the wall. Who knows? It's so easy to dislike her and comment so but not so much if her faults and flaws are being manipulated and overdone by production. It's just puzzling to me.
  4. No you were not the only one. I noticed that too. That's just proof that the show edits situations the way they want them to be perceived. I saw a clip of Jubilee dancing with the twins and some of the other girls were watching. Jubilee was in the middle with a twin on each side of her. The twins were trying to show her how to do that Irish step dance and she just kind of went into her own free style thing. It was very funny and quirky. Everyone seemed to be having a good time. Can't remember now where I saw it. If it was on the ABC site or twitter or where. It was early on in the competition. Anyway I think Jubilee started out just fine and being very social but the more intense it got and the more some of the women's personalities and cattiness emerged she reverted back to her insecurities and put up her wall. She really wasn't cut out for this type of competition and her wanting more time and assurances from Ben was IRL perfectly normal but on this show not so much. Also I think if Ben had been more into her he would have been more willing to give it more time and that last conversation would have went differently. I see a lot of dislike for Emily's actions in talking to Ben about Olivia. I don't see it that way and I think she is one of the more genuine of the women. A little immature and naive sure but I think she honestly was offended and fed up with Olivia's actions. It just shows she has a kind heart that even though she knew she stood a chance of making Ben mad and making a bad impression (as she stated) she didn't care. I think she saw it as enough was enough and Olivia had finally stepped over the line. Also the clip it showed at the end of her and Lauren B and the tequila shot really showed them both in a good light. It was a real moment and was more telling of both their personalities. Kind of like a big sister/little sister moment. Lauren B is really killing this competition. She's handling every situation perfectly. Doesn't get involved in the drama and squabbles, has good relations with all the other women and most importantly she's showing just the right amount of interest in Ben. Being involved but a little aloof and not clingy. Which just makes Ben want her more. If she isn't the final one I will be shocked.
  5. Amanda is really pretty (except for that unfortunate choice of hair colors) but if I had to hear that mousy voice every day it would drive me nuts. I would have liked to saw her go after Olivia though. Not sure if Olivia unintentionally put her foot in her mouth or that was a direct diss but something tells me it was the latter. She then tells Ben that everyone was getting along fine and nothing out of the ordinary had happened when Ben questioned her after Emily talked to him. She's a piece of work, that one. I hated to see Jubilee go but it was becoming evident that this show wasn't for her. She had a normal real world reaction to a situation that was anything but normal. We see this every season. Women crying that they are starting to care and jealous of the time the other women get. Makes me wonder why they even sign on to do this show. I believe they think they can endure and handle it but the reality is much worse than they expected. I don't get the JoJo appeal. She's attractive to a extent but nothing over the top. I don't like the way she treated Caila and Jubilee in the one episode where they were trying to talk to her about their concerns and she just sat there all stone faced and uncommunicative. She was right along with the other women bashing Jubilee after she had her date with Ben but then pretended to console her at the bedroom door when Jubilee was upset over all the cattiness. Tonight she couldn't wait to let Ben finish his explanation about sending Jubilee home, when he was obviously upset, before she barged in to tell him how much she knew he was upset and she was there for him. Opportunist much? Nah..I don't like her. Shame the most genuine ones left (Jennifer, Emily) probably don't stand a chance at being the B'ette. Lauren B just keeps getting better each episode. Ben's got that one right at least.
  6. Yes she does quite a bit. The hair especially.
  7. I would never tell someone their physical flaws or intentionally hurt them in real life. We are all judged everyday on our appearances but most people are going to keep their thoughts to themselves. If any of us viewers were to be on this show it would be no different. At least I know I wouldn't. Ha.. I would be torn to shreds. And unfortunately I think when you sign up for a show like this you are opening yourself up for critiques. It's the nature of the game.
  8. I still find it amazing how much everyone's opinions and preferences can differ. The beauty of this board is that we can all state them and discuss. I like hearing other people's opinions and beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder. I noticed her face also. I don't know if her hair is prone to being oily too or if she just used too much product. It can weigh the hair down and make it look oily when it's not.
  9. Me too. I wonder if she's always lived in Michigan or if it's possible she's originally from somewhere else. When I first heard her accent it kind of sounded more north/mid western. Like Minnosota or North Dakota.
  10. Yes Jennifer is very pretty and I would say probably one of the sweetest there also. I had commented up thread that she needed more time with Ben because I was afraid she was going to get eliminated otherwise. If she can go far enough she could even be in the running for the B'ette. Now that I could go for. I think she would be a good B'ette although she's probably to laid back for the producers taste.
  11. Mu Shu, I suppose it seems that way to me because I always had a very thick head of hair. So thick it was always hard for me to find hair accessories big enough to hold it. Even after chemo when I lost it all, though not as thick, it still came back full. I tell everyone I shouldn't have complained about having too much hair..lol. So I guess to me her hair looks thin compared to what I'm used to. Maybe a better word is volume. Her hair lacks body and volume. I've noticed she's put some curl and waves in it at times. That look is so much better on her in my opinion.
  12. It's hard to figure out how to quote on my tablet but in response to PamelaMaeSnap's post from above regarding Olivia: I agree. I thought she was stunning the first night but she quickly faded. Her face is beautiful (except when she does the exaggarated wide mouth thing) but her hair is awful. Limp, straight and with that severe part in the center. I don't know if she uses too much product or her hair is just too thin but I've noticed several times that it actually looks greasy. She would look much better with a side part or even long layers. But her "all that" attitude is by far her undoing. Yes the scenes with her fingers in her mouth were hilarious. I couldn't help but say, "get your fingers out of your mouth, your not a baby". If she was trying to come off seductive she failed miserably. That was just nasty.
  13. Oh don't get me started on Lauren H. She is a case of not having much beauty or likeability. To me she's another one who seems older than Ben.Yes you are absolutely right. Ben is what makes this season enjoyable. I guess that's why I wish he would have had a better selection of women. But he seems satisfied with them and that's what matters.
  14. I admit I'm no classical aficionado but yes considering the caliber of the other "talents" I thought Jubilee did well. It did sound a little screechy at first but other than the twins I still thought she was the best. At least you have to give her a A for effort.I posted after the first episode that I didn't think Lauren B was that attractive. I know it sounds catty and mean but I think when you sign up for these kind of shows you are putting yourself up there for critiques. After seeing a few episodes she has showed herself to be a mature confident women and she's kind of grown on me. She is cute in a sort of way but nowhere near as gorgeous as this franchise has had in the past. Or as Padma said, "in terms of the TB". I know about the unfairness of the editing, the women are cooped up in the mansion and all that but still the cattiness that was displayed last week kind of spoiled me off a lot of these women and some seem way older than they are. JoJo looks way older then Ben. As does Olivia. Becca seems wooden. If I had to pick I would say Caila is the prettiest but she seems so young and naive. So does Emily. I don't know it just seems like these group of women were under par and no one really stands out overall. Or maybe I'm just getting burnt out. Oh well maybe we can look forward for the guys to bring the excitement on the next B'ette. Hears hoping.
  15. Catrice2 I see many long posts like this where I agree with a portion of what they say but not the whole post. With this post I have to say that I agree totally with everything you said. Well said. Yes Jubilee played a cello and did very good. At least she did by that little snippet we saw of it. I actually thought her and the twins did the best of all of them and when Jubilee played the cello they cut to a shot of Ben watching. He looked like he was really pleasantly surprised and a little in awe to me. Complete opposite of Olivia where he had his face covered through most of it.
  16. I wonder too though if some of Ben's reaction to Olivia's act had anything to do with the fact that he was already starting to get burnt out on her. I think any initial attraction he had to her was kind of killed last week after the "cankles" conversation. It's easier to give someone a pass if you actually like them and yes your right she was taking herself way to seriously and couldn't laugh at herself. I think she was expecting Ben to jump up with a standing ovation and catcalls or something.
  17. Others mentioned last week how much our opinions can change from week to week depending on what we see and that it's ok to snark on and comment as we see fit. I completely agree and tonight was a excellent example of that. Last week Jubilee came across as an extremely sympathetic character and in my opinion it was hard not to sympathize with the way we were showed she was treated. This week it looks like she's starting to show signs of insecurity and overdoing the "complicated" which will probably be her undoing in the end. Olivia was so easy to dislike the first 3 episodes but her meanness is slowly dissolving into just being pitiful. It's just so over the top now. She's becoming a caricature. She was right about the talent show. She was awkwardly embarrassing and no matter how much Ben lied and tried to say she did fine (he was trying to be polite and then just shut her up) it was painfully obvious. He wasn't covering his eyes for nothing. If he would have been into it she would have had his full attention. I wasn't surprised at all that Amber went home. She was barely hanging on by a thread and last week's fiasco sealed her demise. Becca...I don't know what it is but she just comes across as kind of plastic to me. Even though her and Ben had a sort of in depth conversation she didn't come across as real and I just wasn't buying that she was that into Ben as she said. Jennifer needs more time with Ben. She seems really likable and warm but she hasn't gotten as much time with him as the others and if something doesn't change I look for her to go home soon. Same can be said of Leah and Lauren H. I like Leah. She seems to get along with the rest of the women and different TH's shows her to be sympathetic with them when others aren't. Lauren H should have already been gone IMO. She's catty and her accent is off putting. Looks like Olivia may be back to her old self next week as she makes a snide comment to Amanda as she's talking about her children.
  18. I noticed that too. It was so obvious he was genuine in his trying to reassure them as opposed to Olivia. It's becoming so apparent that Olivia must be a producer plant because he looked so fed up with her and seemed pained to call her name at the rose ceremony. I can't double quote but to the poster who asked why Lauren H. was still there. I totally agree. There seems to be no chemistry between her and Ben. I don't like her snooty attitude and her accent is grating on the nerves.
  19. Exactly. You said it so well.
  20. Maybe I didn't choose my words well but I didn't mean that caviar was the same as bugs and such. I was simply saying that speaking of things people can't tolerate to eat reminded me of that tv show. Honestly what I would probably do ( which I do with all foods I'm not sure about) is take a very tiny bite so that if I don't like it, it won't be to hard to finish it and wash it down with my drink. So even though I don't think I would try it IF I was put in a situation where it might be considered rude not too then I would take a very small bite. I do think it's bad manners to spit out your food for the most part but I do realize there are exceptions. Some people would literally be sick if they tried to force it down. So I'm not to hung up on it. Like I stated as long as it's done in a proper way. I think grown adults can tell the difference. But that's just my opinion just as it's anyone's opinion who disagrees with me. I certainly never meant to offend anyone.
  21. I really do understand why some people consider it bad manners. If I were in a restaurant around other people I would think twice about doing something like that but in a one on one situation and it was extremely gross to me I might. I've never tasted caviar, (and from the sound of it I don't want to) but I'm reminded of a tv show that used to air called Fear Factor. They were required to eat extremely gross things like worms and bugs to stay in the competition. I use to think that's proof that people would do anything for money...lol. I can see myself trying certain foods to be polite but maybe not being able to tolerate it. Like snails..yuck. I didn't see it as Jubilee asking for permission though. She just had a look on her face like she really didn't like it and he reacted to that by telling her to do her thing. I'm sure she would have do it anyway but the fact that he was cool with it and let her know it said a lot about him I think. Just a really mature, laid back man. I had some reservations about him because we didn't see much of his personality on Kaitlyn's season and what we did he just seemed kind of bland and stiff. Now I'm thinking that was because he just wasn't into her that much. But he is really showing himself to be a kind, mature, reasonable man on this season. I like him a lot.
  22. I think that's the more likely option. I noticed that too. Lauren B's hair looked so much better at the cocktail party. Also I've noticed that we almost never see her in the group shots of the women gossiping or if we do she never comments but just listens. She doesn't seem to have the general air of desperation and anxiety a lot of these women have. She's getting a extremely good edit and in my opinion most likely the F1 edit. We'll see.
  23. I beginning to wonder but you said he laughed in the one you saw. Seems like I remember he laughed when the show aired but not as robustly as they showed on the clip on the Bachelor twitter site. And did you hear him say, "do your thing". That is what I think is the key thing here. By him saying that he was essentially saying, " go right ahead you won't offend me". That was left out I think to make it seem more offensive than what it actually was. Also afterwards as we saw the date went extremely well so if he had of been turned off by that action I don't think it would have.
  24. Padma I just figured it out myself...lol. When you click on the multi quote button and it shows the little black bar that says, "reply to 1 quoted post", don't click on that yet if you want to reply to more than one post. Find the other post you want to comment on and do the same. Click on the multi quote button and it will then say, "reply to 2 quoted posts". So if you had additional ones you wanted to do it would just keep adding up till you was ready to comment. Only then would you click on, say you had 4 posts you wanted to respond to, the black bar that says, "reply to 4 quoted posts". Hope I explained that well enough and it helps.
  25. Me too! It would still drive me nuts. Yes games would be fun because I could only take so much of sitting around gossiping about the other women or to much conversation period. I love social interaction but I love my quite time too. I can see myself just wanting to go off to a private corner and read a good book and get away from it all. That's why I sympathized with Jubilee when she was trying to be to herself and the other women thought that was strange. They didn't like that she got the rose and was there anyway but then I think they expected her to spill all the details of the date or something. Like it was any of their business. I wouldn't have wanted to done it either. I agree it's not good manners and I would have tried to finish it but if something was really really gross to me I can't say 100% that I wouldn't do the same. As politely as possible of course. And I think she did. She turned her back to him and had a napkin. If I was on a date and he did that I wouldn't think too much of it as long as he covered his mouth. Ben seemed to be ok with it. I saw a clip of that scene on the Bachelor twitter page where it shows the exact scene except after she's took the bite she looks at him with a look of "uck" on her face and he laughs and says, "do your thing". Then that's when she turns her back to him and puts it in her napkin. They cut that part out when it aired on the show. Strange.
