PartY, that is. I hate when I notice an old typo :/

>:( This is meant to be a "dislike" face! Elizabeth May (Green Part leader) tweeted a picture of cherry blossoms this morning and said, in essence, "Don't worry, Rest of Canada! Spring is on its way!"

Leonard Nimoy has passed away at the age of 83. Live long and prosper, Mr. Spock :(

I just discovered that JM did an episode of Aisha Tyler's podcast Girl on Guy back in December. I listened to it, and he seems like a pretty grounded, realistic guy - he acknowledges that he didn't set out to be an actor, but just happened into it in the course of his sports-playing in college. He said that he loves his job for the security (while understanding that Y&R won't be around forever), because it allows him to be invested in his family and his kids' sports, which he loves. You guys should listen to it!

I'd guess it's fairly common to be in some measure of shock after a car accident, even without a head injury. I was in an accident in 2005, with my seven-month-old son in the back seat (neither of us was injured), and I was so freaked out/shocked that I called 911 - and hung up because I didn't think they were answering fast enough! They called my cell phone back and said, "Did you hang up? Don't hang up! Stay on the line!"

17 years here; I met him in 1994 (cause I was dating his best friend!).

I have an Internet friend who lived in Nanaimo for many years, but decided to move to Winnipeg a couple of years ago. She's so happy about it - she loves winter and cold and snow, and Winnipeg is the perfect place for that! (Except they don't have a whole lot of snow there right now, and she wants more, LOL)

That's what ya get for living in an old-ass house, Pearlite :D (I kid, mostly. I think older homes have so much more character than newer ones. But I'm happy that my pipes aren't frozen - and that I can flush the toilet when somebody's in the shower!) Happy anniversary! Do you live on Vancouver Island? I saw something on the news about a newborn orca in the southern resident orca population, and was so happy - the second new baby in about six weeks!

My husband, being a soft-hearted soul, kept putting birdseed on our porch for the birds last winter, as it was so cold and snowy. Well, the neighbourhood squirrels thought that was a fine idea! They hung around long after winter was over, and managed to get into our attic through one of the roof vents...and one of them had babies up there -_- We suspected that they had taken up residence because we heard a lot of banging and scurrying (louder than mice), and our suspicions were confirmed when they chewed through the network cable that ran from our router in the master bedroom, up into the ceiling, through the attic and down into my son's room! Little buggers. So we had to have a squirrel guy come out and put a wire thing around the roof vent so that they could get out but couldn't get back in again.

We had a possum in our recycle bin once last winter. They are UGLY O_o And that's about as exotic as it gets here! We've had to start keeping our compost bin in the garage. Otherwise, the raccoons will get into it and knock it over and make a mess on the porch, bungee-corded lid notwithstanding! They are smart and crafty critters.

That's cool about the model train store! My nine-year-old son absolutely loves the Thomas the Tank Engine universe - he has a giant layout all over our basement, and another one is slowly encroaching on the floor space in my living room :) (I know model trains are a bit different from the Wooden Railway, but still...) My guy is always watching Thomas videos on Youtube, especially the ones where the hosts review new items, destinations, and layouts. There are some really clever folks on YT who make great videos. Does your husband's store have a toy train section? Or a website? :D

Canadian, I just saw this on the CBC website and thought of your son - hope it wasn't him! (AC Dreamliner makes an unschduled stop in Anchorage, Alaska) http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/air-canada-dreamliner-makes-unscheduled-landing-in-anchorage-alaska-1.2953192?cmp=rss
