  1. I wouldn't be shocked, because: -Dany dropped Daario so that she could be free for a political marriage in Westeros, Jon is an eligible bachelor looking for an alliance -oh-so-clever Tyrion noticed Jon looking longingly at Daenerys (in the same episode they talked about her succession), no-nonsense Davos noticed Jon looking at her good heart in S7 -LF mentioned the possibility to Sansa but even in 8x01, even before anyone knows they're related (as if it mattered for ruling Westeros, LOL) no one even thinks of suggesting it. So I guess it will come up when Plot decides it's time.
  2. It would set him up as a kind of antagonist, and it could bring him more "heartbreak". I don't remember a character who played against Jon or Daenerys, and who didn't pay it one way or another. I hope that Sam will remember his conversation with Aemon and what he read about Daenerys. They had a sweet relationship, it would be nice if it allowed him to wake up. This interview makes Arya and Sansa sound like immature mean girls. https://tvline.com/2019/04/09/game-of-thrones-season-8-arya-sansa-sophie-turner-interview/ Maisie: "We finally managed to scrape our family back together somewhat, minus Jon.” Her character didn't mind that Jon was a bastard, but that he has a GF means he isn't part of the family? Sophie: “If your name ain’t Stark, you ain’t getting in.” Nice to know that Regina Sansa meant "You're a Stark to me" so much two seasons ago. Let's hope it's their interpretation and I'll end up happy they don't write for the show, LOL.
  3. If Sam blurted everything in front of the assembly, it would be kind of funny if it went on like this: Sam *certain the Northerners will get behind his idea*: Jon is Lyanna and Rhaegar's son, the true heir, let's depose Daenerys and you'll have a Northern king! Northerners *horrified, still TSTL*: He's a Targaryen! Southrons go home! Ban them both, and their dragons! Sam *"sorry wifey, need to see the library" face*: Whoopsies...
  4. So they more or less say that the big showdown will happen in KL? OT: Anyone else got the 🤩🤩 seeing the episodes thread up?
  5. Oh, another terrorist helper who was only misled and "wanted to do the right thing"? 🙄 Listen, show, since you pretend to realism and seriousness, it's high time you portray terrorists for what they are : Losers, often common criminals, with a small dick and a God complex, or pure fanatics, with a small dick and a God complex. Thank you kindly. So, they want to catch Tal in person and they don't find a better idea than sending someone he knows, someone everybody knows since she's "the most hated woman in America", as they just reminded everyone in the "previously on". Okay. Wait, no, I couldn't get past this one. Another thing, (I FF'ed some parts so I might have missed something but) if Tal has another mole in the team, why does he want to neutralize the FBI through bureaucratic shenanigans? Isn't that plain stupid counter-productive? Again, please tell me it's a gambit and he has no mole, just wanted to confuse the enemy. Raza Jaffrey was relegated in the background again (grr) yet he seems now comfortable in his role and I'd like it if he had more of one. Of course, I wish that when asked about the brilliant plan, Daniel answered; "It's a great idea because she's going to show her true colors and we'll be rid of her for good" which would have been in character since he's always been the one who questioned Keaton re: Erica but hey, it's this show. I have to give props to Morris Chestnut for weathering quite graciously the ridiculousness of the writing that had him play the exposition fairy during an emotional scene at the bedside of his wounded teammate. He also instilled more warmth in his character, which is an excellent thing. Sorry, though, I'm tired of the dead fiancée. It was Braggs and Pettigrew's turn to get more to do, and please let's not do that again. I'm a shipper at heart, and mine didn't even flutter. It came completely out of left field in this episode whereas I had expected some shiptease between them since Pettigrew's introduction scene. Was their first scene considered flirting? Because I heard no innuendo and saw no spark. "I grew to care about her", why not "I want to have babies with her" while they're into heavy "tell don't show"? And again, it might be the direction's fault, but the acting was just not good either. About this, I noticed that the actors often keep the same expression/pose during info dump scenes, they're like frozen in one reaction shot for way too long, up to the point where it's a tad jarring. It has to be a direction/editing thing because they all do this. I have so much trust in the writers that I wondered if anyone was going to call out Erica on being a Jupiter-sized hypocrite. Keaton did, unexpectedly, hence the best and most realistic moment of the episode, and maybe of Erica's entire arc since the pilot. Never say never, they gave some flaws to Spy Sue. Did the daughter give her the phone? Is there a plot here? Recurring question, which is the main issue.
  6. Yeah, poor Summer is a bad precedent of Wolf vs Wight. However, if those were indeed wolves in the first/big trailer, I have good hope for Ghost. He can be reunited with his sister and go stomping-chomping some wights; and maybe even make it -the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives, after all.
  7. I can cite dialogue (I never talked about anything as dramatic as "blaming" or "hoarding their food", though, but made a simple observation). In 7x03, indeed, Sansa asks for each nothern keep to contribute for food. In 7x04, she's talking to LF: "...they haven't contributed the right amount of grain for the stores" ("then I'm afraid they'll have to make do with what they *mumbles* we can't" -cuts when she sees Arya and Brienne). Realism! And yeah, I also think that the audience will be thrilled at the very least to see Jon on a dragon.
  8. The reviews seem to say that there are more humorous moments at least in 8x01. Methinks we're going to need it before shit goes down. Tormund is the last named Wildling, it can play in his favor. If some Wildlings survive, he should. Yet big Houses were wiped out, so will they wipe out the Wildings, too?
  9. Sansa talked about not being provided with the right amount of grain for the stores in 7x04. As I said above, I criticize the Northerners for being naysayers and refusing to see the big picture for more than a season. Not for taking a couple of hours off (if that's the case). I don't remember part of the leaks showing that the Northern lords "do everything" to protect the castle; participating in protecting their kingdom and WF, which seems a key in its defense when the threat comes from up North, is the least they can do. I remember a state of the troops review at the assembly, the Karstark troops yet to arrive and a strategy reunion, although I was under the impression that the latter was between Jorah, Tyrion and Davos. The Stargaryen also have Bran who monitors the AOTD in real time. Indeed, waiting to see how it plays out is wiser.
  10. ers don't care about any of it but about their petty power plays. For weeks and months Jon has tried to get allies in the South, at his own risks, and they did nothing but plotting against him and whinging. Most of them didn't even provide WF for food, as they were ordered to. Everything Jon says during the northern assembly in 8x01 about the threat and need for allies falls on deaf ears. They go on nitpicking and doubting and squabbling instead of seeing the big picture. It's been their attitude since S7 to at least 8x01. Jon goes on a dragon for a couple of hours, and he's the one forgetting his duties or ignoring the threat? LOL. As for the reasons, I'll see how it plays out. From what Friki said, it seemed to me that the dragon ride was the reason, but re-reading it isn't that clear. I'd say that Dany, for one, certainly has had in mind to make Jon ride Rhaegal, because his contact with Drogon was last season and she had the time to think about it. It's a moot point. They're back in time to discuss with Sam and the parentage reveal at the end of 8x01, so before the AOTD is anywhere near WF.
  11. My reason for watching got more than three minutes of airtime, his character was allowed to be good at what he's supposed to be good at (interrogating) and he was allowed to act without too many insertions of cuts on inanimate objects! Of course, I couldn't help but think how great his scenes would have been in the hands of even only capable writers. People seem to think that the Horus pin is a sign or something and that Daniel is the mole. I almost wish, but I have so much faith in those writers that I suspect it's only the lacrymal touch and will go nowhere. I'd have liked Daniel to put it in a drawer or give it as evidence afterwards; because it would have established him as a top interrogator indeed, and a real professional. Now it seems he was also emotionally invested and it lessened his competence. My interest perked up when he ranted about the CIA, a true internal war and vigilante vs legalist would be a more original theme to exploit than a second mole, but I'm dreaming. The "poor little terrorist" thing left me cold. Go on a suicide mission against your country state police (hey, why not against all those animals who mob raped so many women on Tahrir square, while you're at it?) and don't go killing innocents, less in another one. Then you'll have my sympathy. Oh and of course, the daughter was interrupted before she could "reveal" something. Was it only about the recital, or is there a plot somewhere? In spite of everything, this episode was the "best" one since the pilot for me, and not only because there was a decent dose of Raza Jaffrey. They toned down the stylish shots. The Erica/Keaton dynamic works weirdly better when they get along than when they go for "tension". And finally, between Cruz and Erica-as-a-mother, Keaton gets an embryo of personality through a textbook case of Dulcinea Effect.
  12. I must say that I'm looking forward to Jon saying "dracarys" along with her. Badass! Battle Couples are definitely my fave.
  13. Yes, and the main goal of their "escapade" is still to teach Jon how to ride Rhaegal, in order to prepare for the war and have more chances against the AOTD.
  14. Of course he does! Being heads over heels in love does that to you, and Jon is heads over heels in love with Daenerys. Poor guy, he's had the weight of the world on his shoulders for four seasons at least, I won't blame him for daydreaming for a moment about his mate. Moreover, from the leaks we have, at this point of 8x01 Bran is still bot-like, Sansa berates him, and Arya seems more interested in elaborating weaponry with her own confidant and mate* at the forge; the atmosphere seems more "chilly" than "chill" for Jon at WF. The last info reminds me somehow of the littlejonsnoww "leaks", mentioning a chase in KL + Jaime and the Hound there, too. Of course, they also said that Tyrion was involved in the chase (wrong Lannister brother!) and that Jon would ride both Rhaegal and Drogon so...not a bad effort, still funny to compare. *No, I'm not letting this go anytime soon, or ever, especially with the risk of tragic ending. I'll enjoy while it lasts 😀
  15. A certain number of episodes of broadcast/cable shows that are going to premire have leaked, very weirdly and randomly...hackers must be working hard to get their hands on some GoT 😂 No matter what happens to the couple, Gendrya fans will always have Paris "confidant and mate".
  16. It's normal, imo. All of us here have invested several years loving this show, commenting on this board, getting passionate/stubborn etc. and if the end is unsatisfying, the let-down will be huge. It will feel like a tremendous waste of time and energy. So now, in a way, we're about to jump from the Winterfell walls... You know what's great against pre-season anxiety? Knowing what's going to happen in advance. #Vindicated 😀 I expected the worst before S6 (fear that Dany would be raped and tortured by the Dothraki, for example) and it turned out to be my favorite. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed so that same happens here.
  17. Ned Umber is a 10 y/o boy, imo the sight of a wightified child would justify the use of "unsettling" and "dark" especially with a journalist. Friki talked about the NK attacking Castle Black at the end of 8x01 but I'm not sure it stayed in the final cut. It might have been swapped with Jaime's arrival.
  18. The enemy should take big losses, relying on filming spoilers that Melisandre manages to turn part of the AOTD against the NK -it was filmed at the quarry so supposedly, it was at WF. About this, if Melisandre arrives during the 8x03 battle it's going to be extra deus ex machina; if she arrives in 8x02 with the full parentage "drama" unrolling, the 58 minutes are going to be pretty crowded. Right now, without full season leaks/the big picture, it would make more sense to me if the Volantis escadron joined the Stargaryen survivors in 8x04 (the long mystery episode) and fought the NK in KL afterwards, but anyway. I don't remember the specific mention, by the way, I think it was said she turned "the dead". I'm curious to see if it's the wights, the WW, both, or wights through their WW "sire". If the image of Dany in front of Dragonstone's fireplace in the last teaser trailer means that Stargaryen HQ has relocated there in 8x04, it doesn't bode well for WF.
  19. I agree, she looked gorgeous. I don't think that anyone but her could have pulled this one off. It was so fun to see her flap the sleeves for the paps -I think she had fun, too. She's so statuesque, and looks so dignified when she poses, the contrast was gold. I didn't like Maisie and Sophie's outfits or make up (they're still beautiful young women). They (the outfits, not the girls) reminded me of the dominatrix doll in Love, Actually. I realized that Handsome Man in Armor is always handsome, but never as much as in armor. Amanda Peet was kind of "the hostess", LOL. Momoa didn't seem keen on going for the pap round, can't blame him since he's just done that whole circus for Aquaman.
  20. But Stark blood is arguably one of the oldest in Westeros, going back to the First Men 😁 The "genetics of Westeros" debate is another one that has been done to death, and I don't think it will matter if "let's join our houses" is the plan, anyway. The only victim in 8x03 I'd wage money on is Pod. He's 100% ded, imo. For the others, D&D will need to strike a balance between significant casualties (no Moldavian massacre) and not dilute the emotional impact of known/veteran/important/sympathetic characters' deaths with too many of them biting the dust. That's why for me, there's a lot of "or/either". Except for those present at the Tyrion's betrayal revelation and the actors who filmed in Seville, my wild guess: -All the named Northerners, including Lyanna Mormont now that she's going to be more controversial; little Ned Umber proves they still have the balls to off kids. Alys Karstark's dead body might be momentarily mistaken for Sansa's, to scare part of the audience. -The Lord of Light worshippers (never realized the acronym was LOL🤣) Beric and Melisandre, so no one gets a free from death card anymore. -Two or three out of Tormund, Edd, Bronn, Theon (especially if he dies in WF by Stannis' hand in the books) and Varys. Conleth didn't seem to film much yet his character doesn't fight, so it isn't proof; Tormund is the last Wildling with a name. Someone at the head of Dany's troops, either the Dothraki in chief or Jorah. -Outsiders (1): One out of Jaime or The Hound. They do seem to have unfinished business in KL after all, archenemies Varys/LF never met again. It would trump viewers' expectations in a huge way. WatcherOnMyBalls said he saw Jaime die in Brienne's arms, which I don't want to believe is final, but it's out there. -Outsiders (2): They're going to off one big non-combattant at least, so if Varys makes it: One out of Missandei, Gilly or Little Sam. The latter, especially if the "heartache" John Bradley said S8 has in store for Sam isn't his dolt brother.
  21. Sansa was that age when she was supposed to marry Joffrey + it was planned with a 5 years gap. There was never a Baratheon-Stark marriage, IIRC. So no one knows what the product of such an union would look like.
  22. 2- Imo, if they only tease Arya/Gendry, he should make it after 8x03 at least. If they do it before the battle, his chances decrease; although it also depends on the master plan and on the importance of forging new swords and weapons later on. 3- I agree with the poster above (sorry, so many new posts) who said that Cersei could double-cross Tyrion. She doesn't trust Bronn, so she could send him on a suicide mission. Will so many fighters and second tiers characters die in the WF battle? If there's another one in KL, and one half of the season left, they'll have to keep some of them around. Grey Worm survives until 8x06 according to Frikidoctor. He's showed in the trailer kissing Missandei so they probably have scenes, so the journalist deducing they're going to die based on their lack of dialogue in 8x01 is off the mark imo. Or they have the right to spread the word now, to prepare the mainstream audience... Imo, most of them who are following GoT know about the leaks. I often found sentences straight from FF posts in their articles. She'll be even finer with Jorah once the war is over (don't burst my bubble, I just have a few weeks of "hope" left for my crackship and my Jorah to survive).
  23. Maybe. IIRC, BSB only had info about the Seville shooting.
  24. I understand, this storyline tries my patience, too. That said, it was the mountain made out of a mole hill last season + Dickon's personality change, so the possibility was always there. It (since it's linked to and includes Tyrion's snowflakation) was my only real problem with S7 (YMMV) but I guess, unlike what they did with some elements that didn't work in some previous seasons, they couldn't change this one. On the one hand, this drama is artificial and it's annoying as hell but on the other hand, it means that they can't create real drama about Jon's parentage or Mad Kweeen Dany. Friki and the reddit poster who was at the premiere have expressed quite different views about the Arya/Jon scene. I don't expect marvels, but I'll wait until I see it to make my own opinion 🙂
  25. I'll wait before judging the reunion. It's very subjective, and a short scene can carry a different emotional load depending on how deeply one is involved in a character or a relationship. Real closeness doesn't need much. Arya not throwing Needle was short, and yet, the feels.
