  1. And Vicki said that since this all started with the psychic that Tamra hired, it was appropriate to ask Tamra to end all the speculation. Finally someone remembered how this all began. (At least on camera.)
  2. Vicki's inconsistencies haven't made me doubt that Brooks is ill. I've assumed the inconsistencies are due to the fact that she simply doesn't pay very much attention when someone is telling her something, even when it's the person she has referred to as her greatest love telling her information about his serious illness. Vicki pays attention when the subject is about her, and that's about it. And notice her bedside manner regarding the pills that Brooks takes every day. She told the camera that she hates to take pills, and she seemed quite amused as she immaturely described why. Brooks and what he's going through, and why he's taking pills every day, seemed the last thing on her mind. Vicki's self-centeredness continues to one-up itself week after week.
  3. Yeah, and Heather's description of the tree trunk representing Terry, the branches representing her, and the four birds representing their children was quite lame. Terry's laughter was understandable, even though he probably didn't want to hurt Heather (or his mother-in-law) with his opinion. Ryan's girlfriend finally, and rudely, told him to "shut up". Boy, Ryan has really taken his messed-up life to a whole new level. Tamra is probably more frightened than she seems, and she likely longs for those simpler times when he was just a slacker who abused steroids.
  4. I appreciate Meghan's calm demeanor. And, even though I don't even understand why she does what she does, I greatly enjoy watching her during confrontations with Vicki. It must be a "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" thing.
  5. Wow. Yet even one more way that Vicki proves herself to be a hypocrite. There are so many, and yet they just keep coming.
  6. Brooks isn't Brianna's kids' grandparent, though. By Vicki choosing to have her boyfriend live with her now, she wants to have her cake and eat it too. She's known for a long time how Brianna feels about Brooks, but she thinks Brianna should simply dumb down and do what Vicki wants. I think it's quite reasonable for Brianna not to subject her children to a man she herself finds objectionable or dangerous, and of course she doesn't want them to "connect" with him. She's probably seen Vicki with or heard about a few men over the past few years, including during her marriage to Donn. As I said upthread, why should Brianna compromise her values over some guy when Vicki doesn't take these relationships that seriously herself?
  7. Brianna could hardly turn down such a generous gift from her selfless, generous mother on national television. Imagine Vicki's wrath if Brianna dared embarrass her like that. And the tears. Vicki presenting the (unwanted, unneeded) vehicles on camera was pure manipulation. And it's really, really hard to decline presents from pushy, controlling people like Vicki.
  8. Brooks and Vicki have been going out of their way this season to show on camera how religious they are, so why are they living together without being married? That's a big no-no in Christianity. Vicki probably went nuts on Brianna at the hotel suggestion because she (Vicki) cannot stand even the thought of precious hours of attention on herself being lost during the hotel stay. And in that last scene with Brianna, Vicki once again demonstrated how impossible she is to talk to, how she does not have actual conversations. She is a person who cannot be reasoned with. Ever.
  9. Last night he said that he likes their set-up and doesn't mind that he and Brianna don't know anybody in Oklahoma because it gives them a chance to be only with each other. Vicki then nodded and said that it's good not to have any outside influences. Two controlling people just shooting the breeze...
  10. I thought she said it was her dad. But, since the conversation happened during a reunion, everyone was of course screaming over each other making it hard to follow what exactly was being said.
  11. Brianna said that Brooks' remarks on the tape bothered her because her father was physically abusive toward her when she was growing up. I kind of assume there are more things about Brooks that bother Brianna but she figured the taped conversation was good enough to cite for the show. Also, perhaps she doesn't want to try to overlook disturbing things about him because she was close to Donn and Vicki cheated on him a few times, so maybe Brianna's tired of becoming close to men that her mom ends up not taking very seriously anyway.
  12. The SUV gift-giving scene was awkward and uncomfortable to watch. Vicki doesn't know her daughter very well.
  13. Simon didn't seem that conservative to me when he and Tamra were first on the show. The only problem I had with Alexis and Jim was their materialism and all the plastic surgery they both had.
  14. I remember noticing that Simon seemed to change after meeting Jim and Alexis, and I wondered if he idealized Jim's life of having a subservient "Christian" wife with gigantic fake breasts. His statement posted above sounds like he's become very conservative (but in that Orange County self-serving, self-righteous way), and I'll bet that all began after hanging with the Bellinos. Even though Tamra is a Christian now (cough), she obviously wasn't ready to change into Alexis at that time, and maybe that was the beginning of the end of the Barney marriage.
  15. While I can appreciate Simon's feelings and sentiments, he did marry Tamra and chose to have three children with her, full well knowing her personality and behavior patterns. She would have been the same in their own household in front of the kids even if the reality show didn't exist. Also, I don't remember very much about Simon's seasons on the show but I'm pretty sure that he and Tamra talked raunchily on-camera quite often. Yes, he finally made the right decision to not allow his kids to be on the show, but he sounds hypocritical about everything else. If he said he regretted his own decision to be on the show which included saying things that have embarrassed his children, then he wouldn't sound as hypocritical. And he's portraying the show when he was on it as being different than what it is now, and I don't think that's true.
  16. Vicki's hysteria is annoying and frustrating. Her fellow castmates wondered about supposed inconsistencies in the descriptions of Brooks' medical treatment, so why not just field their questions when they were all together, like at the luncheon, and try to understand what she or Brooks may have said that's caused confusion? After the conversation, she could have simply said that their input and advice is appreciated but Brooks is making his decisions and she needs to support him. Hopefully her answers would have clarified things and helped everyone to better understand the situation, and then they could move on from the subject. But she chose instead to scream all during the lunch, and then the next night she called Meghan names and taunted her about her marriage, even giddily relaying on-camera that Jim recently told Brooks how unhappy he is in his marriage. Vicki is always so defensive and mean-spirited. When most people are dealing with something serious, they tend to have perspective and take little things (such as misunderstandings or argumentative people) in stride. Petty revenge is the last thing on their mind. But, not Vicki. She has no depth. No one asks her questions about anything without paying a dear price... which, among other things, will usually include temporary eardrum damage.
  17. Having an affair was bad enough, but another element of cruelty exists in it since David chose to have the affair while his wife was filming a reality show which featured her marriage and family life. Shannon is likely even more humiliated because of that fact, but she can't break the fourth wall and talk about it.
  18. Vicki has so many qualities that I find loathesome. I thought her words and behavior tonight were despicable. And even when Meghan is a bit out of line, or Brianna is judgmental, I just can't care. Anyone involved in an altercation with her automatically has the benefit of the doubt from me. Vicki's heart seems filled mostly with self-centeredness, and the rest with a bold, ugly jealousy. It's hard to watch her interact with people, and it's hard to watch people allow her behavior because of her "OG of the OC" status. To me, she's the least likable Housewife of all.
  19. So is having multiple affairs while married, purposefully getting drunk at most social events, continual displays of anger, screaming at people and then having no remorse, treating new people in your group with contempt, humiliating people if their conversations bore you, believing in psychics and especially those who make you feel good, believing in astrology and bragging about all the wonderful ways your hired astrologist described you, living with a man you're not married to, childishly craving constant attention, making your daughter's serious illness all about you. Since she obviously doesn't read it, Vicki should at least borrow and skim Tamra's book about the Bible.
  20. I was braced for the retching sounds, but they didn't happen. I guess Vicki's motion sickness is situational and occurs only when she's not the center of attention.
  21. But Carole feels protective of him because he was family, and I used this example to show that it's understandable for people, including LuAnn, to feel protective of a family member.
  22. And Carole was sensitive about Sonya mentioning that she partied with John Kennedy, Jr., because he was a family member.
  23. I agree with everyone else who has pointed out that Vicki seems generally unaffected by what Brooks is going through. Especially considering how hands on she was when she had him get extensive cosmetic dentistry. She was standing there dictating to the dentist everything she wanted done, and even added more suggestions that the dentist hadn't thought of. But I don't think this means that Brooks isn't really sick. I think it simply shows, yet again, how extremely self-centered Vicki is. The cosmetic dentistry was going to help Brooks make her look better. When Vicki took Brianna in for surgery on her thyroid, the event was all about Vicki, not how Brianna was feeling. And, of course, the exploitation of her mother's death so that all eyes were on you-know-who. I'm assuming Vicki is not involved with Brooks' medical appointments because she and Brooks are not really close enough for Vicki to make it all about her, as she was able to do with Brianna's illness and her mother's death, and that's why she's unemotional about the situation. Unless she can make a situation revolve around her, she's mostly indifferent about it. She may care on some small level, but she really does seem to lack empathy toward other people.
  24. Shannon and David's daughters would probably have taken the talk more seriously if it wasn't being done in front of a camera crew. I wonder if it's possible that the whole psychic-involved theme was somehow instigated by Tamra and Vicki. If the "psychic" is established in his "field", why would he take such a risk as announcing on national television that someone he's never met doesn't have a serious illness? He was much too confident in his statements. And why would Tamra take the risk of hurting Vicki? Also, Vicki was emotionally inconsistent at the dinner, i.e., at first just shrugging off what she figured was just more typical gossip about her boyfriend that no one likes, only to suddenly become angry and hysterical, even though she didn't know what had been said about Brooks. This is playing out very awkwardly. I don't understand how any of the women can bring themselves to speculate about someone else's health status, let alone on national television.
  25. Cait seems way more into her step daughters than she is into her biological kids, especially the four who were born before she married Kris. Khloe seems like such an arrogant person. Her smug expressions tonight were palpable. Too bad Cait seems to need her approval so badly.
