    7) In any event, my issue with Clayton has never been that he had sex with Rachel and Gabby while wanted to get engaged to Susie. Not everyone views sex as some sort of venerated act.  Clayton says physical compatibility is important to him, and I believe him -- the act itself doesn't necessarily imply a commitment.  This isn't the 17th Century.

Just for the record the 17th Century had a good deal of tolerance when it came to sexual activity. 🧐

I agree.  And I know the show loves to play on drama, but I think they don't see how they have really ruined what was fun about the show in the first place by capitalizing on this kind of stuff--having the remaining contestants room together in the end, focusing on the villains, not showing any of the actual love stories going on.  This show has always been silly, but it used to have a formula that worked to keep people generally interested.  Now it is losing the main point of the show which is to try, at least a little, to find romance.

I think that this is crucial.  I’m basically Team Susie on this.  But i do think we have to recognize that the real bad actors here are Fliess and production.  Susie behaved as you would if you were looking for a partner in real life.  Clayton behaved as you would if you were the lead according to bachelor rules.  I’m sure that production knew that Susie felt this way and ensured that she not only was rooming with the others but had her go last so that she would get more and more freaked out.  And I’m sure that clayton believed that “everyone” (except Sean) slept with multiple people and that was just never discussed.

Also if you consider how quickly production excised Shanae and Sarah when they wanted a new narrative you can see how this all worked out.  I thought at first that production was forcing him to keep Shanae but no.  He really just wanted to until they decided she had to go and told him what she was really on about.  Then they let Mara serve her purpose of providing the needed bit of seasonal bitterness and then dumped Sarah.  Since he had his eye on Susie from the beginning they provided the necessary drama to get us to the final crisis.

and then the world of the bachelor and the world of real life crashed into each other for THE MOST DRAMATIC FINALE EVER!

I do appreciate the difference in saying you love someone.  However, I do think that Luke was essentially saying the same thing as Susie, whereas it was interpreted as him questioning Hannah's character.  And in Luke's case, he even said that they could get past it if they ended up together, which would make him appear as less of a slut-shamer than Susie if this prevents Susie from accepting a proposal or self-evicting.

I’ve been thinking about your point (what does that say about my life 🥺) and i still think it is pretty different.  I don’t think that people would have responded the same way if Luke P hadn’t been telling Hannah how ro behave throughout the entire season.  Basically he was acting like a very old school husband throughout the whole season telling her what she should and shouldn’t do.

Susie can be criticized for ignoring what often happens on this show.  But basically Clayton was telling her that he knew she was number 1 but hey he felt like sleeping with the other two anyway.  It was just a bachelor party.  And she was saying if you knew i was number 1 why would you want to.

Also, as people commented above what does this say about his treatment of Rachel and Gabby who each slept with someone who was “falling in love with them” a few days before he was going to dump them (apparently that didn’t dawn on him till after he had “gotten intimate” with someone, err two someones.

i remember when everyone hated Nick Viall because he asked Andi what she was thinking doing “fiance stuff” with him when she knew she was picking the other guy.  He got blasted because no one had ever asked that and it looked like a double standard because she was a woman.  But it’s a reasonable question.

I recall a season where one contestant got fancy jewelry to wear for a date, and then had to give it back.

Is that different from all the seasons where they get a fancy ring and then have to give it back?

I feel like the two on one is always an awful set up - by design. It’s always some laughable, unpleasant makeshift seating. This time it was cheap Walmart outdoor furniture in the middle of a grassy knoll surrounded by nothing particularly nice. It’s literally supposed to be awkward and weird because that’s what the whole date is. Two people who hate each other fighting it out over a not so great prize. The comedy of it is why I’m glad it’s back in all of its trashy glory.

The problem with this two on one though is that it was so boring (i realize that may be a redundant statement this season).  The two on one dates that work are where both of the contestants are into the situation.  Here it was just Shanae cackling in her usual manner and Genevieve wondering why she was putting herself through this.  And Clayton looking blank.

And where is Shanae left?  On a nifty boat cruise around the falls that will just bring her back to the limo.  Honestly, the only real emotion shown on the date (except for Shanae’s weird twitching after she lost) was by the women who weren’t on the date.  Even Shanae’s final “I hate you Clayton” had all the sincerity of “I’m going to Disneyland!” after the Superbowl.

At this point, however, I would really like to obliterate the word LIKE from all of these dimwits' vocabularies as well as Clay-en's.

But do you mean that LITERALLY?

It's no secret that this show is scripted and has plants, but this season is so blatant that it's ridiculous.

I was convinced that keeping Shanae was producer driven.  But the bar scene recreated from Star Wars was all Clayton.  He isn’t a good enough actor to pull that off it he was told to pretend.

  8. I happened to be channel surfing and ended up watching Joe Millionaire and i have to say that the contrast between the two leads and recent bachelors was striking.  I don’t think that either said “like” outside of referencing a feeling nor did they use literally to mean anything but literally.  One of them even realized that the way he was behaving would be a bad look for people watching.

when Joe Millionaire leaves your casting in the dusk you have to wonder.  Or if you are the bachelor franchise you probably won’t.

I wish that the women had all spilled on Clayton when he came back to the group on that date. They could have just all said that Shanae is freaking nuts, there's no bullying, we just don't like her and finished this whole thing. This is so tiresome.

Exactly.  Clay'N has even demonstrated that he won't punish the person who comes to talk with him about a "villain."  They should have stopped complaining about her amongst themselves and just told him.  Unless they did and the producers overruled them.

It makes me wonder about the editing.  Is he really having make-out sessions one after another, or is there some actual conversation going on that we don't see?

I suspect that it is the editing.  Clearly the producers decided that the audience had had enough of having to think about conversations or issues in the world.  So they have returned to classic bachelor blandness and thrown in a lot of blonde women who look similar to make us spend all of the time trying to decide who is who.  Add in a little “he is the hottest man since the Garden of Eden” and kissing is the only thing to show.  Especially when you have an early villain like Cassidy.

They have extra girls as back-ups, just in case. This is just the first time they have shown someone leave before the limos. So the question is why did we see her? She could have just left and we never would have known about her at all! She is totally coming back.

My guess is that not onlymis she coming back but that they showed so much of it because it showed Clayton making fun of himself.  Self-deprecating and sincere.  This year’s theme.

  12. I’m sorry, but the notion that Ryan having notes was worthy of immediate excommunication is a bit much.  Aside from the comment about seeming to be interested in teaching what exactly did his notes say?  He didn’t want to be cast as a villain; imagine that happening.  And he should remember to listen his friend who told him that he appears arrogant 🤯.

I mean who could imagine that the way people appear is affected by editing?? Or that producers create villains?  How outlandish.  I think they set him up to be able to act as if this is a spontaneous process that doesn’t obey genre rules.

I doubt any of the other guys on the show had any better qualities or character than what she already had with Noah. Maybe she felt he was the easiest to hang with without a shitload of drama that usually accompanies most guys in their 20's like shit magnets. We suresaw  that come out with Aaron and Ivan, lol.

I wasn’t suggesting that there were better choices in terms of compatibility just that it was clear that he was much more into her than she was to him.  At the point when someone is showing you that and you don’t feel it but keep exchanging roses I’m not sure it’s that different than the people who got the pitchforks and torches.  Whether she was unsure who knows.  But if she wasn’t.,.

I think we can all agree that it sucks to not really be into someone who's crazy about you, then be stuck on a show for a number of weeks pretending  to be interested in each other. As has been mentioned before, most of these people are on the show just to push their own  site for more followers on YouTube or Instagram etc.  If by chance, some of them find true love and marry, best wishes to them.

This is all true.  But she did have chances to give her rose to other people.  It’s one thing to just float and find people who you can stay on the show with.  But if she knew (and I’m not saying that I’m sure she did) that he was really into her and she was meh about him, I’m not sure how different it was than what the demons Brendan and Chris did,

Chelsea doesn’t seem interested in the guys or the show so I think she is there for more followers.

It was interesting that Chelsea was not around during the coliseum showdown between Aaron and Ivan.  I wasn’t sure where she was since everyone else was on the beach (do they have a library or botanical garden that we don’t know about?).  But except for the fact that Ivan claimed she had asked him to talk she didn’t seem to care about what happened.  Just that she didn’t look bad.

  16. I’m sorry but it is really time to retire this version of Boring In Paradise.  It’s become all too repetitive and the shenanigans are out of control both by the contestants and by the producers.  Are we really to take seriously that it was Ivan who was forced to leave because he talked to another contestant before she came to THE BEACH who was sent home with all of the plotting and planning that clearly takes place.  And it was really lousy for McKenna (yay Ed) but what is going to happen when they bring someone in when there are only a few days left?

The inbred character of this set up reminds me of the European aristocracy—and we know how well that ended up.  They could bring RuPaul in to host and it wouldn’t save this sleep fest.

I think Toni Braxton agreed to do the show only if she would be on a certain amount of episodes  Likely due to her medical concerns.  She was too good to be voted off so soon.   Cannot imagine trying to sing with a mask on, let alone with another huge one on your head.

I think that’s likely.  It makes me wonder why Nick isn’t masking,

just read an article that speculated (no evidence) that Chelsea was the person that Ivan hooked up with at the hotel, which would totally make sense how he swooped in 5 minutes before the rose ceremony and he and Chelsea exchanged mutual feelings clear out of nowhere before aggressively making out. If he hooked up with someone else, where did this Chelsea connection come from? That makes it even stranger.

That’s a great question.  Maybe he got coaching from Brendan

Good call, Irlandesa and Crash Course!  I completely forgot that Kendall and Joe lived so far away from each other- if neither of them wanted to permanently move, then it wasn't going to work out in the long run anyway.

This is what makes this so suspicious.  I don’t have any problem thinking that they still had feelings for each other.  But clearly they had both made it clear that they weren’t going to move to the others city and they didn’t want a long distance relationship.

So either the producers convinced Kendall that Joe had reconsidered or else she thought she might be able to stuff him and keep him in the taxidermy lab.  But it was just unnecessary even by the standards of BIP.
