  1. I shudder at the thought that I might be saying something in defense of Bennett,.  But it is possible that his comments about Noah having no chance wasn't either about production or an insult to Tayshia but an observation based on the reality that unless you are Claire you have to keep a certain number of bachelors each week and it's obvious that Noah isn't her first choice, or second choice, or third choice.  Of course despite his high emotional intelligence Bennett doesn't understand that he is not her first choice, or second choice, or third choice either.  But that is a different therapy session.

I am hoping they reboot the series.  The series could be great with an upgrade in actors and the chance to rewrite and shoot some of the awful episodes. Really do season 4 and 5 properly, instead of the rushed method that they landed on because of the cancellation issues.

Unfortunately most reboots aren’t really the same story.  I worry that rather than get an appropriate run we would simply get the same characters with a different show.

Why should Clare and Dale get a follow up show? They hardly have anything to talk about, they were only here for a few weeks!

Maybe the producers wanted to make sure that they actually have a conversation before they go off in the sunset together?

  4. I have to admit that I don’t have a perfect recollection of everything Clare has done on her 50 appearances but Benoit didn’t leave her standing alone.  What is this whole narrative?

(The question of how much fame you can get on a reality show is a larger question.  How many people outside Bachelor Nation know who, say, Becca or Sean Lowe is? Or Boston Rob or Dr Will or any of the icons from specific shows?  Which leads to another question -- how many people have leveraged their time on a reality shows for genuine fame? DIDN'T WORK FOR JED YET I SEE))

I don’t think the show needs to end, it needs to go back to leads who can manage the narrative. Weak emotional people like Hannah and the idiot pilot are exhausting to watch. Give me Trista or that blonde haired guy with the giant head over these recent doofuses.

Tbh,  I’m not sure you can go back to that.  The whole joke about “right reasons” stopped making sense about the same time we stopped using quill pens.  The whole show has become a self-involved world of “bachelor nation” in which pretty much everyone who comes on has ulterior motives and the point is to be on tv.  Wanting to go back is like wanting to go back to when they played World Series games only during the day time because it is better for the players and we all listened on radio,

One thing to remember is that this a reality show first. So who knows how much of Clare and Brandon's conversation was edited out. As edited I still think it makes Clare look bad. Brandon comes off looking like a deer in headlights not realizing he needed to have a google doc filled with Clare's personal history. But ultimately not a bad guy.

Good point.  And we have to remember that Clare busted TPTB plans for the season.  No matter how many times they try to cash in on this being “THE MOST DRAMATIC SEASON EVEEEEER” they had a narrative set up and she didn’t play by it.  So they may have decided to change “quirky” Clare into “Lucretia Borgia Clare” for their own purposes.

Clare was on Juan Pablo’s season waaaaaaay back in January 2014, so coming up on 7 years ago. What are the chances ANY of these guys were big Bachelorette fans when they were like 21  11 years old? I can see if you’re considering applying, then watching the current season. But unless these guys grew up watching the show with their mom, there’s no way they know who she is other than whatever clips/articles they can unearth by Googling. Her “shows” aren’t available to watch anywhere! This is exactly the same thing that happened with Arie. All the middle-aged female viewers remembered they thought he was hot, but like a decade later, the contestants and newer viewers were all, Who’s this poor man’s Mr Rogers?

    Fixed it for you

The show is acknowledging that one of the guys contacted her before filming. Why hide it with Dale? He and Clare look like bigger flakes for getting engaged after 12 days, if they weren't in contact first. Maybe communicating before the season would be "cheating" but who ever said the show is fair? If they did communicate first, the smart thing would be for the show not to address whether this happened with any of the contestants.

Now that you raise that it does make you wonder if Clare made a big deal of saying it was okay that he reached out because it’s possible that it will come out that she and Dale were in touch before the show.  If she had allowed the other guy to be sent home it would look bad.

I am glad to know I'm not the only person who wrote down the names of the guys-- I can't keep track of them.

I'm not sure that it is worth the energy to be honest.  Most of them are filler.  Eventually you will figure out the two that she may be interested in and the 3 that the producers keep around because they make good TV.  The rest you won't know till you hear on one of the bachelor boards that they did something really embarrassing in real life.

  11. I kept hoping that someone besides Johnny and Cely would finish second but i guess the producers thought that they had convinced us it was actually still a comtest.

Johnny “joking” that Caleb should keep the money was the most honest moment of the episode.

i would say I would miss this show but since I’ve already forgotten everything that happened (which forum am I in?) i guess that wouldn’t be credible.

  12. I think it’s possible that Julia said something at the expulsion ceremony but TPTB continued their ongoing effort to make us forget she was there.

Frankly, Carrington was more annoying than usual.  The whole facial drama while he was spending 2 hours explaining why he was picking Laurel was really too much.  It isn’t Sophie’s Choice.  I will always wonder if his parents named him because they watched too much Dynasty back in the 80s.

So if this was the last recoupling does that mean that everyone sits around in the deck chairs on the Titanic until Wednesday night’s season finale?

  13. Jeez that was a bore.  Aren’t we supposed to care MORE as we get close to the exciting and unpredictable ending??

I was surprised that the producers showed Calvin figure out that Moira got affectionate so she could survive the next recoupling.  If we didn’t know that they are all there to find love you might think they just want to stay on TV.

The only thing I can think of is that he was born on Leap Day and they only get together for dinner and a movie on February 29th, every four years...

You know you are probably right!

The thing that is really odd about Moira is that to listen to her each one of the guys has been “her type.”  I think that her type consists of a guy who likes her smile and is willing to say that they want to have a conversation.  Last night she had a whole conversation with Bennet about how she wanted to have q conversation with him.  And then they didn’t.  Now she thinks they are perfect for each other.

  15. The other thing that no one seems to be pointing out is that she apparently broke it off AFTER she and her family helped him recover from Covid.  People are acting as if she did something wrong but she didn’t leave an ill person.  She waited till he had recovered and had supported him through that.  She should get credit for that.

  16. “America” really blew it.  If it had any sense of drama or whimsy it would have saved Trey and Lauren.  But no.  It picked them giving the other couples an easy out because Lauren is “new.”  If “America” had put in Moria/Calvin we would have had a race for the money.
