I wonder if they ever considered just recasting the role? I'm sure there would be some shippers who would lose their collective minds but I think most of us would have adjusted after a couple episodes.
My recollection (without having the books in front of me) is that John wasn't officially part of the regiment during that time...just a younger brother tagging along...so he wasn't in the battle. But I seem to recall that after the battle his brother sent him out with others to kill injured Highlanders. I remember John recalling that he came to one guy and that guy had to help John pull the trigger.
Anyone else notice that the actress (Patina Miller) playing the person setting up the small pox quarantine area also plays Daisy on Madam Secretary? Guess it's a good thing MS moved to the 9pm time slot so they don't compete.
Apparently the Screen Actor Guild nominations came out today and Outlander was not recognized in any category.
I'm beginning to think this is the best show that Hollywood is not watching.
Golden Globes nominations came out this morning.
Caitriona nominated again but no joy for Sam nor the show.

Grashka,
It's in Echo. I've been rereading the series...again...and came across it today. I think it's about Chapter 25 of 26.
When I read it I thought, "Hey! Someone asked about that passage."
The only place she's shown up so far is in the commercials. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't drag this out until the last episode or two of the season.
I watched.
I got a bit tired of hearing about Atz Lee's accident after about the 15th time it had been mentioned...which I think was only about 30 minutes in. We get it already.
It will be interesting to see how this plays out with Atz Lee and Jane. I wouldn't want to move 30 miles farther away from the rest of the family and what passes for civilization either. That becomes less adventurous the older you get. He's got a plan for running water but it will be rough living otherwise. When they showed footage last season of what it took to get back to that place during the summer it's barely accessible by ATV.
I'm actually interested in seeing the Jewell episode(s). I did kind of raise an eyebrow when they said she'd not been back in years and had never brought her son there.
The whole time April was in that room with Catherine I was thinking, "Run girl...do not get into a conversation with this woman."
I'm interested to see how this affects Catherine's relationship with Webber. I can't believe this would be something he would support.
