Criminals are judged all the time by things they did in their youth. Have you no idea how many people sit in jail cells sentenced for life based on crimes that happened when they were fifteen? They are murderers, rapists, and worse. So according to this logic if a fifteen year old kills someone, doesn't get caught, and goes on to have a family, society should just cut them some slack when their crimes come to light? Sometimes what you do defines who you are. In this case, Josh Duggar, Child Molester™ stood upon hundreds of podiums and announced that LBGT men and women were child abusers based on their sexual identity. All while painting the LGBT community with the same brush, he himself was a child abuser. So (at least for me) until the day he dies, no matter what good deeds he does, he will be a child molester. If for no other reason that his victims still have to live with the abuse.

Those are some serious rose colored glasses. The difference between a child molester and your straw man of a child who is on the Autism spectrum is that one is a choice and the other is not. At 14 and 15, Josh knew damn well what he was doing was wrong. According to the original DHS report, Josh was physically disciplined (which means Jim Bob probably beat the shit out of him... and what do we expect coming from people who hit infants?) Yet Josh still chose to touch his sisters until he got down to his five year old sister. There's nothing "curious" about a kindergarten aged child's genitalia. Also, unless there is a valid tip saying that Josh has molested one of his children, there's no basis for DHS to intervene. Because of his parent's conspiratorial felonious attempts to hide Josh's crimes, that's the reason he's not registered as a sex offender, which he should have been since he admitted to the molestation years after. People with children need to know that they have subjected their children, during various events and even privately, to Josh Duggar, Child Molester™. Predators like Josh don't just change because they helped remodel a building for a few months. They don't change when the only counseling they received was from another person accused of sexual misconduct with underage girls.

It's a civil case, not criminal. The burden of proof is so.much lower in civil cases. He's already admitted to the molestation as have his parents. They've admitted on FOX News and in the DHS report that there was under clothes touching, so I don't think that her burden of proof will be all that difficult to obtain.

I'm trying to find out elsewhere, but if anyone here can answer, I'd be delighted. JB and Michelle have been steadily moving all assets to LLCs for years. There's a property LLC, and aeronautical LLC, and businesses out the wazoo. One of those businesses were formed with Jim Bob, Michelle, and Josh right before the Fox interview aired. So given that all of their assets are in shell companies, how would the victim go about getting a judgement when none of the Duggars actually own anything outright?

Given In Touch's history with accurate reporting on this story, I'm giving them a lot of credence here. The fifth victim may have been (disclaimer: complete speculation) contacted and harassed into signing some sort of declaration nailing her into a narrative that better fits the Duggar's story. Also, because I'm incredibly lazy, when did the original scandal break? Kate Gosselin's boyfriend/bodyguard was soliciting off duty police officers around May 20th. I'm guessing that the Duggars has some sort of heads up that the story was going to break.

If the Dillards are starting a ministry and are seeking funds to go overseas, might I suggest they sell the $20k worth of wedding gifts? Or the second round of grifting that was the Wal-Mart baby register? Or how about the funds I'm sure they received for their exclusive wedding/baby dill pickle photos? Under Arkansas law, records that include sexual assault of a minor cannot be sealed. Josh Duggar, Child Molester™ was an adult when DHS got involved in 2006 and DHS got involved because his victims were then and still minors. If you murder someone when you're 15 and aren't caught until you're 19, your records aren't sealed because you were a minor at the time of the crime. Either way, the Duggars were naive to believe that their secrets would stay hidden because of their shell veneer of wholesome, white, Christian values. They live in a right wing bubble which they believed would protect them from any speculation and in depth probing. EDIT: I legit know the difference between the your and you're.

When an organization seeks to take rights and civil liberties away from US citizens based on their interpretation of the bible, it's very much a hate group. Their argument that marriage is between one man and one woman is tantamount to opposition to interracial marriage which was only made legal in 1967. Arguments about interracial marriage were biblically based as are the FRC's lobbying claims about LBGT citizens. FRC spreads misinformation about LBGT citizens as to sway public opinion the same way that Westboro Baptist Church tries to sway public opinion by protesting funerals with their God awful picketing propaganda.

In all honesty, for someone who is supposed to be so brand savvy, Michelle and Jim Bob have royally flubbed this whole crisis.
