She’s originally from ABQ? I missed that.

Her son, Jeff, had an ABQ air freshener in his cab which freaked out Gene because the guy also kept looking at him in the rearview mirror and I perceived the sinister tone as him thinking that this was someone nefarious that had been sent to find him and it wasn't just a coincidence that he was a passenger. Apparently, he was just concerned that Jeff would recognize him, which is what did happen and Jeff confronted him in the mall. That was why Saul roped Jeff into committing crimes--not for the money but because he was concerned that Jeff might turn him in for a reward so he shut that down by hanging felony crimes over Jeff's head. I'm assuming both Marion and her son had moved from ABQ.

  2. Unpopular opinion but I never cared for Kim so I'm fine not seeing her again.

It's quite plausible that Marion could be Gene's downfall. Not for nothing did she witness the garage coming and goings and also, since she's originally from ABQ she's kept thinking she's heard his voice before (from all the TV ads). It's one of the those very common things that drives you nuts: "I could swear I know that person from somewhere." She finally remembers, pulls up an old commercial, and compares the faces. Perhaps it's not just that she loves the show and was happy to play any tertiary character, but Carol Burnette knew she would get to be the one who ultimately takes him down.

  3. Tears of joy and a huge smile on my face! I miss Breaking Bad so much. The neighbors around the complex may or may not have heard me through the open window: "OMG! WALT! JESSE!"

They were supposed to be in Episode 10 but it was worth waiting another week for. All it took for me was the initial shot of the RV keys and the barrel of methylamine to know where he was.

That shot of the grave dissolving into the bed was amazing. Coincidentally, after not hearing it for years, last week I heard Madonna's "Don't Tell Me," which has the line: "Tell the bed not to lay, like the mouth of an open grave."

No way would I let Demon Baby get anywhere near my tit, dream or no dream! Did you see the set of choppers on the thing? I know they say sometimes babies can look ugly but yikes! That was freaky.

Well, as they sometimes say: "A face only a mother could love." I couldn't even look at that thing, it was too creepy!

I've never had one, so I'm afraid you'll have to report back. :)

And it's definitely NOT off-topic because this episode had approximately 387 minutes (give or take) of Cinnabon product placement...

Heh, I wonder if there was a slight uptick in their sales today!

ETA: Company Tweet: "sooo how many Cinnabons do you think that security guard ate."

They also retweeted someone that posted after the episode: "Anyone else craving Cinnabon today?"

  6. Damn it! I haven't had a Cinnabon since sometime last year but now, thanks to this episode I am too weak to resist. But since it's 100+ degrees out (and very humid in the Pacific NW), I'm having some delivered. Vince needs to reimburse me!

Thanks so much for mentioning this movie.  Looks like it's worth a watch.

Bob Odenkirk is in it.  And it's available on Prime.

I love this movie! Ordered the DVD right after I rented it years ago. I've had friends watch it and they've all liked it.

Yes, the first time we "met" him, he said originally lived in the Austin house with his ex-wife who was also a body builder.

If I recall correctly, he said that the reason John initially moved in was to help with the house expense that Patrick couldn't afford after his ex left and he was down to one income. I wonder if he also has to pay alimony?

  9. Okay, so I was too eager to see this episode right when it dropped that I paused Only Murders in the Building, right in the middle of a scene where party guests are playing a card draw mystery game where they have to figure out who got the killer card. Scene in Evil: card draw mystery game at Kristen's! (Count Floyd: Oooh, scary, boys and girls!) Somehow, this has to be a consequence of continuing to skip the intro. 👻

It's already sold. The resale market for Birkins is INSANE, like you could have holes in the bag and it'd still be bought thats how popular the bags are and how in demand they are.

Us normals will not be buying that bag.

Birkin bags are investment purchases for the folks with money.

I will never stop wanting one!

  11. I found the thread of the woman who babysit a very young (5 or 6) Ari, so I had the self-harm part wrong. Further down the page she also talks about how toxic the family were. It's on Reddit though and I don't think we're supposed to post the link. Is that correct? Just put "I used to babysit Ariel's!" into the search box over there.

Emily and Kobe: Ooops, he spilled the secret to his friend. Temperature has some things right but is still very African about Kobe being the head of the household. Ems, unless Kobe is running late, you don't order his food for him when he is sitting next to you. You sure came to life when Temperature mentioned Kobe had some royal blood (no, not the band). No castle in Cameroon for you.

I'm sure they'll 'figure it out.'"

No, Kristen, Brad and Elliott are Janice's children from her first marriage. Their last name is "Schreffler."  I have also seen references to another older sister, Adele, and since she's never mentioned on the show, she might possibly be Doctor FRED'S daughter from another marriage.

Pretty sure it was on here or Previously TV that a babysitter or nanny of Ari's when she was growing up posted about a few times about how she witnessed how badly Ari was treated by her half-siblings and that's when she began self-harming (cutting).

I imagine Ben Linus looking at Leland Townsend and sneering "amateur". Not that Ben was anywhere as evil as Leland but he holds the Gold for manipulation.

Because Michael Emerson did such an amazing job, to the point that when later in Linus' storyline where he becomes more and more broken that I actually felt a lot of empathy, is the reason I've been following him from show to show ever since. Particularly loved his character in Person of Interest! I don't think I would have even begun watching that show--or Evil--if it wasn't initially because of him.

  14. I didn't the first time but this time around am either muting or, like I'm doing now in S12, fast-forwarding through any scenes with scenery-consuming Mark Pellegrino's one-note Lucifer. Is he ever NOT sardonic? As much as I dislike Metatron, he's a lot less annoying. At the end of S12 and now I have three seasons of wishing I didn't know Jack [shit].

I do love Tina Fey normally, but I agree. If you are going for an obvious Sarah Koenig parody (although she did exactly one true crime case and then was out), make her actually a bit like Sarah Koenig The choices here were just weird.

Cecily Strong did a much better job as far as Koenig impressions go:

I've watched this so many times! Cecily does an amazing job and I also crack up at Aidy Bryant nailing the screeching voice of the real-life lawyer!
