  1. It does sort of make you wish they'd all get chlamydia
  2. A car? Buried in the sand under his beach towel? Nobody has that kind of luck
  3. I watched the whole nonsensical thing over again; Frank couldn't fart without Avram Fischer knowing about it but didn't know his mother lived in Leipzig? And called the gestapo on him? And I still think Justin Kirk is imaginary; the only person you ever see him speak to is Frank and nobody else speaks to him. And after determining that Frank is not a spy, they don't bother to feed him, they just lock him back up in exactly the same cell Avram left him in. So the whole thing was probably imaginary. The interviews, the big reveal. Frank is still locked up and starving and nobody knows where he is? Also I was unable to make any sense at all out of the boys and Helen's camping trip when they are getting out of the car and said that Charlie makes Richard III look like Richard II. I didnt think either of the Kings Richard had any redeeming qualities that history remembers, or that one was worse than the other. What was that all about? Then that weird thing Abby said about how if you wanted to put a total end to Major League Baseball, all you'd have to do is get rid of the Yankees. As a Red Sox fan I would never miss the Yankees, and baseball would go on just fine without them I watched the whole nonsensical thing over again; Frank couldn't fart without Avram Fischer knowing about it but didn't know his mother lived in Leipzig? 4. I would think that somewhere out there in polygamy world there would be some sort of etiquette which requires a woman to ask permission of a man's other wives before she pursues him. Likewise the man should discuss prospective wives with the ones he's already got before courting anybody. But that would require being considerate of other people's feelings, which doesn't seem to be in anybody's repertoire
  5. I can't even get through the first 10 minutes of Hoarding and I'm throwing stuff out. I have to find something, anything, and haul it out to the dumpster. When I watch 600-pound life I can't eat for about 24 hours.
  6. We'll see we have a problem with a TV show that features a man who has completely lost interest in his three overweight wives and has eyes only for his one skinny wife. And I feel VERY comfortable stating that I think everybody on this board is hoping that Robyn gets fat. Is there anybody here who is sorry to see Robyn gaining weight?
  7. If I don't watch "my 600 pound life" I gain weight
  8. Oh don't go there I keep thinking about Eleanor Roosevelt and Hick. Bad visual
  9. I wonder if any of the writers/producers read these comments. If they want us to watch the ads, they need to intersperse them with trivia quizzes about physics and history. Maybe the nonsense about Frank going to Liepzig was trying to bring in some plot line similar to the secret meeting between Bohr and Heisenberg. Somenody told somebody something, but The world has only Heisenberg's account as Bohr suffered hypoxia over the North Sea and turned into a pacifist. Pacifism is always caused by hypoxia you know.
  10. And according to most people, there is no "my money" in a family, there's just "our money." I recall Janelle saying "I don't share (money) with Kody."
  11. Apparently he was never attracted to her, but he needs at least three wives to get to the highest tier of heaven, and she was available. It's pretty obvious that before he met Robyn, the only person he'd ever been in love with was himself. And I'm not sure he's really in love with Robyn, either. We'll find out when she gets fat.
  12. Actually he doesn't, that's why he's lost interest in the first three wives. Meri and Janelle were skin when he married them, but Christine was always large and he was never attracted to her. Oddly, Christine is totally desperate to get Kody's attention but will not do the one thing that would work: lose weight. Why doesn't she just do it? I think Janelle piled on the pounds in an effort to repulse him. He'll leave her alone if she's obese enough. Meri blimped out because she was depressed and didn't care anymore.
  13. the writers think we want to see a soap opera with lesbian sex, so we have to see Charlie and Abby work through their marital problems. As if geeks find any of that relationship drivel interesting.
  14. The kids are probably watching the show. How could they miss it? Dad spending all that time and attention on Robyn and her kids. Dad more interested in adopting Robyn's kids than in spending time on his own. Dad going off to Hawaii with Robyn. It's probably making the kids sick, watching that.
  15. when my mother's parish priest was revealed to have raped his step daughter 3 times a week for years before her mother found out, I realized that no matter how upstanding a guy seems to be on the outside, he's still a man and thinks with his little brain
  16. Where did Liza send Callie? I recall she wanted to go to college in NYC but her parents didn't want her in a target zone. I just started wondering about that. While my grandparents were alumi of Harvard and Radcliffe, my mother applied to Smith and Mt Holyoke, went to Smith in 1942. I never thought about that until now, she was my grandmother's only child (my grandfather's only other daughter was living in Holland, of all places) and Cambridge Massachusetts would have been much closer to them. They gave her a gold ID bracelet with her name and home town on it. Creeps me out to think about what was going on in their heads. What a time it was!
  17. Being seen on TV talking about what a shit your ex is qualifies as parental alienation. I really will be interested to see what a judge thinks of all this. Their credit history, Kody's lack of a job, too many other children to support, should make it look to a judge like he's transferring responsibility from a parent who could pay child support over to the state welfare rolls. Of course if the adoptions are denied they'll blame it on polygamy and claim they are persecuted.
  18. Nah, it doesn't make sense. If the Germans were working on Frank's calculations they were working on implosion, and if they were working on implosion they were too close. I don't understand what the writers are doing with Frank. Liza, I think, is going to go poking around in the corn fields after the Trinity Test, discover what gamma rays can do to maize, and go to work for Monsanto. Or she's going to commit suicide.
  19. According to Wikipedia, John Von Neumann visited the project at Los Alamos in September 1943. So there you go. Kistiakowsky replaced Neddermeyer in 1944 as head of the implosion group but what did Neddermeyer do after that?
  20. The catfish has been exposed. Perhaps someone will lure the thing to a secret rendezvous and beat the crap out of it.
  21. There was an episode of Hoarding that featured a woman who started hoarding when her husband dumped her for her daughter, the daughter was still married to the guy. There are innumerable cases where it started as sexual abuse of a minor, so you hear about those in the news. Google "sexual abuse of stepdaughter" and you will find a horrific list. But many are never prosecuted, and some wait till the girl is old enough to consent. Henry II took his son's fiancée as a mistress, many men married their wards (kept the property under their control that way) It's offends most the sensibilities of most of us, but that doesn't make it unusual
  22. My daughter was told most variants of the non-working CHEK-2 genes are associated with colon cancer, but they don't know what hers does. She has two non-working copies. My mother has lung cancer (never smoked) father and brother got prostate cancer before age 60, sister had a benign colon polyp, and daughter has bilateral, Triple positive breast cancer. So far all I've gotten is a little squamous cell on my face. I've been drinking a pot of coffee a day since I was 16 years old, self medicating for ADHD but I had to fill out a like 20 page questionnaire about how many times a week did I eat broccoli 50 years ago. Donated blood to research a couple of times. It's strange
  23. Yes if anybody sees Frank Winter lurking near the Trinity Test site they are supposed to arrest him, suggesting that they don't know where he is.
  24. Try, any things possible. After all they didn't waste time watching tv the way we do
  25. Uh oh, colon cancer has a lot of heredity issues, runs in families, familial adenomatous polyposis, Chek-2 gene mutations etc. if you have any close relative you should be having colonoscopies before 50, really.
