So, I just read something that stated, "If allegations are proven true, then Alan Williams will never coach in the NFL or for the team for the rest of his life." Well, I guess I'll assume that's the least of the guy's problems. Chicago has other issues to begin with in the game, but...

I have to make time to read that article to see if someone's going off of what's in the CBA as well as how to handle MNF. I don't think there are any changes strike or no. To be clear sans reading, what I recall in terms of MNF on ABC is that they'll airing it throughout the season, but it doesn't mean they're adding more games. They're just going to have that simulcast with ESPN on solo days. As for scheduling teams from Sunday to Monday, that was always the plan. I can't remember if it started on Week 5 or during Week 13 or some other time

I'll answer your question with a definitely no, mojoween. To be honest, I have a big grin over this situation. Plus, I'm surprised. This is who they are. They have a pretty good coach & GM, and a decent roster. However, every time things trend upwards, they say "no thanks" and tear it down. It is what it is. To be fair, the same thing with Pittsburgh holds for Cleveland. And everyone else: it's still super early. The fact is they haven't cashed in since Day One. So there's no real reason to think it's going to be different this year right now. Pittsburgh isn't much better. Culture wise, it's night and day, but based on their standards and going forward, I don't see anything from them either. Cowherd explained it quite well on Tuesday. Pittsburgh isn't going to win because they are too super loyal to cheap, awful, and under-achieving personnel on staff. Cleveland is just pathetic, period. So they'll end up giving up the future to obtain something to win now, but the problem is that said talent is more probable than not to be past its peak. We'll see if things work with Jonathan Taylor if they go that route. BTW, they're not too lucky (or kind of fortunate) except one time, and either they'll lose Taylor with his injury history or they'll just lose, period. But they can proceed and give up all of their top picks until the next decade; I don't care. Unlike bluegirl147, there's nothing to root for here. Yes, I feel bad for Chubb, and Miles is okay. No need to root for them, and that's been the case before Watson was even born. The rooting interest will be in favor of Dallas or Baltimore during a matchup, but other than that, I'd either not have the TV on or root for a good game

Can't they both be jerks? Neither one needs to be a jerk to alter facts. In facts, the fact is they both were awful in the National Football League

I'm not a Browns fan, but I'm also not a fan of injuries, especially/mainly ones that go beyond the sport. Sure it'll help someone's team (as the sport is a business), but when you're seeing a career, or even life-threatening injury, it's heart breaking when everyone is saying, "I hope this is only a season-ending" injury."

Wish I could've warned you. I'm not a huge Giants fan, but I think it would be incorrect to root for Joe & Troy over the other guys. It's Chris Fowler with Dan and Louis, BTW. Though I'm okay with Buck & Aikman, as it's sorta fitting in terms of a missing puzzle piece when it comes to people calling games. But man, Greg is so great as color. White jerseys at home are okay I guess. Not necessary at night, but in the September heat, I can understand it

That's a valid reason. Still not a great one, but one nonetheless. I'm not sure they care about dumpster insurance TBH. Not that they have to due to being the king of ratings, but an awful (defensive) HC vs a rookie with not a lot to work with AND a game that can end 4-0 Browns aren't great options to avoid a lousy Monday in the world of the NFL

I have to double-check, but I think they did this doubleheader nonsense last year. I guess it's part of their new 11-year television contract, but that is a very valid point. This is why I mentioned the fact that I could see the NFL messing with a team in the postseason when they have them playing on Saturday vs the Top Seed despite playing on Monday night & regardless of how the league said that would never happen. They tend to add to their product, only to abuse it later on. I didn't think much into it or care TBH. MNF isn't as great as it once was; I was focused on Steelers/Browns to some extent but kept forgetting about Saints/Panthers. There's no reason to have them both playing tonight. At least spread out the time even if they're all Eastern/Central teams. Or have one start at 5:00 Eastern; it's not like they haven't done that before

I was about to post that the Bengals are done, but instead, I think they are simply in trouble. Though I think Joe wasn't as awful as in Week One. The problem is Cincinnati will have to worry about Higgins, Chase, and whomever else as Burrow got paid. So they need to get there, get to the end. That way, if and when they get the title, then they can break up the Bengals. While I'd get killed for saying what I'm about to say, I think I'll be perfectly fine if Cleveland and even Baltimore win the division instead of Cincy. On another note, New England is really in trouble. 0-2 both at home is brutal, especially against 2-0 Miami, both road wins

They'll get killed unless everybody and the weather predict the Niners to do just that. Either way, ITA they should just spend 2 weeks preparing for Seattle

The good news is the second MNF game tomorrow is your "hold me beer" moment for the Giants. Not just the G-MEN, both 1989 teams. As for Vegas, they've actually won a game this season

You and me both. Though it's a great game and I needed something to root for. For instance, Dallas covering that 8.5 and the under playing out. Plus, I'd love low scoring for SNF 38 or less and the Pats winning outright

Here comes Detroit! Still a ton of time, but definitely a loss for me regardless of that outcome. Aaron is a great athlete, but a unique character. That's for sure!

An Aaron Rodgers Return Is A Possibility More doubtful than probable, but throughout the week I did think of Rod Woodson returning in the Super Bowl he sorta got robbed from the previous year back 28 years ago. In "real time" the 2009 HOF member and defensive great was about a decade younger so that (along with several other reasons) is why I'd put it at 1%. I will give Seattle more than a one percent chance at a road win in Detroit, but no more than 5%. I have the under since I don't think they can both combine for 47.5, but it can be a great game and they can get close to it. I have to go with Detroit to cover but I may have considered Seattle if it was a 7.5 spread

Unlike most (or several) people, I actually do not hate the owners. They treat the NFL like a business, and at least several of them have other interests in life. Criticism aside, they've done a great job over the past 17 years more or less. Really Roger and company have, but collectively, it's never been better. Though I might've preferred the old days; change is inevitable, and IMO, the changes have been okay at worst. Having said that, I'm not a fan of how they're getting richer but somehow "cannot afford" to enhance their venues. At least have a discussion on it. Western Pennsylvania has & is going through this currently. In 2022, they changed the name of the stadium; the reasoning was that the previous name offered less than the current name, and they needed to upgrade stuff. That's fair enough, but where are the upgrades? On a certain level, it's not a big deal, but when safety is an issue in addition to staying modern & current, it's probably a great idea to upgrade & tweak some things. As opposed to not doing that before the locals pay tax money for a new stadium just over a quarter century apart. Week 2 Picks: Jacksonville, Buffalo, Cincinnati, Los Angeles, Detroit, Chicago, Green Bay, Indianapolis, New York, San Francisco, Dallas, Denver, New England, Carolina, Cleveland BTW, looks like MetLife Stadium has only been around for over a decade. Not 2 decades yet. I had to look it up since I guess I would not have been shocked that it's been 20 years when I didn't think so. But it has been a minute since Woody yelled at Roger for the Giants getting that legacy benefit for being the first team to take a snap over the Jets. Looks like something that occurred in 2010, a year or two after AT&T Stadium became a thing
  19. Week 3 picks: Penn State, Georgia, Ohio State, Tennessee, Purdue, Michigan, Houston, Clemson, Colorado, Mizzou, Utah. I'm not touching Georgia or Colorado in terms of the spread or the O/U. Really, I'm not that interested in the over/under this week anywhere. I do think LSU and Bama can win their games but not cover the spread

For Thursday Night Football, I have Eagles winning over Minnesota, 36-7 which would address the former covering that 5.5 but as a result, missing the over 48.5 Despite an interest in the field of play someday, as mentioned, there's never going to be a perfect solution. BTW, the opposite is the case at the former Heinz Field. Injuries are part of the game and people are still going to go down. Nobody does a TB12 diet

Mojoween, that is accurate. However, the league is probably as unhappy as the NFLPA. At least on some level; it's more probable than not that it's on a lesser level. If the NFL doesn't budge, I don't think I'll have a problem with it. Like A-Rod or not, that is not cool to see that guy absent going forward. He's probably the bridge or the link between those guys that finally made their exit (Drew, Ben, Tom, Eli, etc). Now it's Stafford. Too bad Aaron was on the back 9 and still only has one ring AND one conference championship. Plus, Rodgers can't move around anymore the way he did in the past. Now, if Patrick Mahomes suffered the same injury or does at some point this year or next year, then I imagine the league would act in favor of the player's association's wishes. Regardless of whether Patrick being absent helps my team, I do not want to ever see him not there on Sunday

The injury just happened Monday night, and it's only been about 24 hours since the confirmation for it. I imagine we'll know more throughout the week, but given the fact that this could be an 18-month rehab for a soon-to-be 40 year old, I think Aaron is considering his options
