What a very lovely football game!
-
Well, I've been told tomorrow is never promised. Anyway, sorry you had a bad day, Johannah. I probably will not lose sleep over the outcome at Acrisure, and even though the same goes for the outcome at Camden, I'm not pleased either. Nothing against Texas, but the Orioles winning it all this year would've been nice to see. As for Steelers & Ravens, it's all about matchups. Lamar has had success against the teams the Steelers have struggled against, especially teams featuring Belichick and Brady. However, it's a different story against the Steelers. Yet, to stick with tradition, Ravens/Steelers are a true 60 minute game. It wasn't so much 2 defenses killing each other, but it was more inept offenses. Especially Pittsburgh, and TPTB have chosen to forgo it. A big reason why it's easier to do something else for the most part. Too much on the to do list to waste time with average & mediocrity. I am happy for the win. I do not have time for people in Western PA "wanting the Steelers to lose" so that they could fire Matt Canada. That's a DQ as a fan, more than doing something else in lieu of being all-in on Pittsburgh. The big reason is that I hardly think they were making in-season changes anyway regardless of the outcome. Looks like San Francisco is rolling. Until this time a week from now, I'll be a little ticked off knowing that it's very possible Cleveland will whoop on the Niners and boast about it

I'll do my best not to be depressed, which would be easier said than done since that Texas team might not be the Texas team I'd root for in terms of the pennant
-
Gotta play the Chiefs for that to happen
-
I couldn't care less to be honest. That was reported by CBS and NFLN (RedZone), not me. I just didn't link to their confirmation. I was hardly that focused on Chiefs & Vikings due to other games PLUS Texas/Baltimore in the ALDS. While IDC about her attendance, that may be a fair reason, but secondary at best. For instance, Pittsburgh isn't a hub for the rich & famous either. However, TS has been there several times, including back to back nights this summer where the attendance crushed any Steelers game in that venue's 22-year history. Yeah, 6:30 on a Sunday in the AM is not ideal ever. Especially for something not related to work. I can understand that. Maybe once or twice a year. Just speaking for myself, as I made an effort to wake up on a Saturday & Sunday at 5:00 AM for The Open (golf's final major). Fortunately, the DVR creation is a great thing!

For those of us that have been around for a long time, before the mid late 90s to early mid 2000s, that was called Tuesday
-
This just in....Taylor Swift is absent at US Bank Stadium. Sorry Swifties! I guess she hates CBS unless she's getting crowned for an award. Plus, when I think of CBS late afternoon football on Sunday...I don't think of TS...I think of Summerall & Madden. Followed by 60 Minutes and Murder She Wrote over most of these CBS Stations!

I was just coming back here to post about this! Nothing would thrill me more than for Kraft to boot Bill, and the latter doesn't get a chance to pass Shula
-
I don't know how the New York game is going to end either. I imagine it'll end with either Daniel Jones throwing a pass to an NFL player or Tua Tagovailoa throwing a pass to an NFL player. Not sure the name of the player but he'll be in turquoise, white, and orange either way

Looks like Miami survived in terms of the AP Poll (but not the Coaches Poll, where they're 26th). Top 4 in both are Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, and Florida State. Unlike a week ago, Georgia deserves the top spot now. At least in questioning it, I think it's been justified. Penn State was off this weekend; couple that with Oklahoma's big win over Texas, they jumped them in the AP Poll. PSU is 5th in the Coaches poll over the Sooners, where the Longhorns fell out in term of the Top 10 (11th place for the future SEC team). Texas is 9th in the AP Poll, a ranking poll that will not matter as much by the end of the month

Georgia South is a thing, I guess. Plus, it would be an AFC Atlanta team. Though I would root for a New Orleans AFC team. At most, a quarter handful of people dream of Atlanta and call it a good dream. People dream about Bourbon Street, on the other hand. Heck, people dream ON Bourbon Street!
-
That is fair enough. Probably not the solution the NFL will ever go with, but that would cross off a competitive disadvantage. I love the international games. Looks like 9:30 AM Eastern is the time going forward for everything there. That ain't changing. But things feel tremendous, moreso if you're there. I will disagree with the league about having a team permanently. That would be a double-standard. BTW, nobody goes to Jacksonville for football. So that's part of the London thing. IMO, an easier fix would be to move the Jaguars to Atlanta
-
I totally forgot that I was going to pick Jacksonville for this very reason. Well, at least cover (Bills -5.5). I still felt that Buffalo was good enough to win, but while they've pulled to within 4, those injuries might be the difference more than the advantage Jacksonville has. Still, I agree that they'll look into it, but I don't know how best they could fix it

I'm trying to wrap my head around that mess. In other words, I'm trying to come up with something that defends that scenario that led to that outcome. Even though there really isn't a defense for it. I'll admit I didn't hear the coach's press conference after the game, since it would be nothing more than excuses there. However, I can see how he and whomever else thought that Georgia Tech had another timeout prior to that 3rd down play. So, they'll run another play, Tech will use the final timeout, and then Miami gets a chance at more points. That being said, explaining why it could've happened is worse than not knowing the full picture. I can't control the outcome, but Miami should've taken a knee long ago in that game. Hasselbeck wasn't in shock, based on the sound of his voice upon the turnover. It was more on the level of disappointment on why the U didn't take a knee, coupled with why they ran that bad of a play in lieu of victory formations to run out the clock. TBH, I didn't watch the game live so I don't know if Wes or whoever was on the call with Tim was commenting on why Miami didn't end things early on when they were home free. On another note, there was another game early in the day where someone else was running plays when they didn't need to, so this result was bound to happen. Oh well. That's too bad for the U. Now they'll drop, but I'll know in a few hours if it's an outright drop from the Rankings, meaning North Carolina gets yet another unranked opponent next Saturday

Looks like people will have to wait for 2024 to see Milano in action on the field. In addition to the Bills linebacker, I think there were a half dozen Buffalo defensive players going down in a hurry in London. Obviously with Matt exiting on the cart with a significant cast, that's the biggest issue, along with the concern for the AFC East Champions paying the price if they go off of their plans for Von Miller.

Man, Notre Dame is garbage. But only when I pick them to win, lose, or draw. The Duke game was brutal, speaking of which. Since they could've been as decent tonight and 2 weeks ago during that game in NC. I guess I'll bet my life and cash on each of their games next year. That way, I guess I'd technically die happy since doing so means 0-12!
-
Barring another loss, I think Texas might be okay. After the first 12-year run, hard to imagine that it'll exclude them. Of course, USC & even Florida lack history in it. The thing is Texas falling eases things in the SEC, except maybe not if Oklahoma wins out. Fortunately Georgia is sorta back
-
Father time, then, now, and forever, is purely, always, and simply undefeated
-
It's a very good deal. Good for Indy. Also helps, IMO, that the Colts look OK at worst. Week 5 Picks: Buffalo, Baltimore, New England, Indianapolis, Miami, Detroit, Houston, Philadelphia, Cincinnati, Kansas City, Denver, San Francisco, Green Bay Week 5 ATS & O/U: Buffalo, Rams, Minnesota, San Francisco, Green Bay. Under in the London Game, SNF, and MNF. Over in everything else
-
Well, it looks like Ohio State went from "Should not be favored over Penn State to probably will still be favored over Penn State" in a hurry. Meanwhile, I guess I forgot how & why Texas won 49-0 a year ago, but to be fair, I expected better from the Longhorns. Unless they were actually playing to beat Alabama and nothing more. Final Picks: FSU, Texas A&M, UNC, Clemson, Georgia, Notre Dame, Michigan, Ole Miss, Wyoming, Iowa State, Miami, Oregon State, USC Final Picks ATS & O/U: Kentucky covers, over hits, and Notre Dame wins outright despite an under outcome
-
Yeah. I'm guessing FS2, but I think when I briefly saw the schedule, it might've included College Football. On the other hand, checking on 506, there's nothing scheduled on FS2. A couple things in response to DMK. I guess people were soaking up all of the baseball they can get today. Plus, I sort of wished that they would've started things on Thursday or Friday, adjusting based on how things finish in the WC round. Oh well. However, I don't think I'll bet all 4 games ending in a 2-game sweep going forward
-
I'll be watching all 4 games. It's a lot of baseball, but I'm already going to have the TV on throughout the day. It's Saturday in the season of Autumn. Of course, with 12-16 hours of football on both weekend days, I'll be tuning in on Sunday as well. Can't wait. BTW, FTW I have Baltimore, Houston, Philadelphia, and Los Angeles in 5, 3, 4, & 4, respectively
-
Week Six Noon Picks: Texas, Maryland, and Mizzou. Over in Red River & Ohio State game. Under in LSU game. I still think OSU & LSU win but both will not cover. I'll get to the other stuff (at least I plan to) later in the day
-
There's also someone hilarious about the Bears getting their first win since Chase Claypool disappeared. It's unfortunate that it took Dick Butkus passing on for Chicago to win for the first time in quite a long time. While I don't expect them to turn a new leaf (this season), I think they'll trend toward the era and play inspired in honor of him. The good news is that there are about a quarter dozen NFC teams that are too good to where they'll have no chance
