Unlike the Big 10, the SEC does it right: Night time in Death Valley. No blue blood is intimidated by the daytime State College Atmosphere

100%. Too bad someone couldn't emulate the D Wade role here. They're still not winning anything, but IMO that would help in their case

The thing is the teams that face Kansas City don't do enough to separate from the close margin to where anything can happen. I hear you; if the opportunity is there for the champs to win, it's going to happen. In other words, a close call that can go one way or the other is going in their favor. To be honest, one of the things I wouldn't do is kick a PAT to achieve a tie

Yeah right! It's been more than 2 decades. Nick was the best coach they had, especially when you count the first quarter century of the millennium. He probably gets booed based on the match-up. If it's LSU hosting Oklahoma, he might get the Des treatment the latter gets whenever they travel to Columbus. By the way, I've added a link to where someone can find the complete list. Which is all over the Internet, but the 25 teams should be at the website that I've linked to. Although this is the new era, there's no reason to disclose each team one at a time going forward. I would hope that they would reveal the bottom six, and the 5 that are just above them. It was actually okay this week, since I was a bit surprised to see Clemson at 23. I was wondering where Pittsburgh was if that was the case, but then I said they'll show up if Louisville made it. It went from over for PITT to probably over for the 2021 ACC Champions. I don't see them getting the help they need, but it actually isn't that much. Apart from winning out, they'd need ND to lose & LSU to win this Saturday. That ain't going to do it but if I had to pick the first thing, that would be it. The best thing for PITT right now is UVA and only UVA. Anyway, seeing the teams where they were followed by Colorado in the Top 20, I knew that Indiana and SMU were going to be fine. The latter is the first team out, literally, but just in terms of if there were the final rankings. They're 13th and Boise State is 12th. I'm okay with that. What could've been for Pat Narduzzi's team, though still needing to do the best they could, especially on 11/16. Plus they weren't jumping Bama Probably helps that they've been playing well enough to be there, but the committee probably would rather have all 12 teams in the Top 12. Army is about a quarter dozen wins away from being that team right off the bat that has people whining about how the postseason still sucks. Might be meaningless in the aftermath of their game against Notre Dame

They're not going to get rid of Garrett. He's the cornerstone of the franchise. Even Schefty scoffs at that one. Sort of like Watt with Pittsburgh. On an epic return outlook, I get it. However that would've turned the team into the Carolina Panthers. Unless someone else had what it took to take that roll, I can't blame a franchise. That goes for Garrett. What I don't want to see is Cleveland parting ways later on in his career with the attempt to get something decent in return. Myles would deserve to finish his career where it started (remaining with Cleveland). The only exception is rewarding him with the right to finish with a contender (getting to choose where he wanted to play). It's not just that; it's the fact that it takes the whole game to cash. At least with New England 17 years ago the games were over by halftime on average

Top 12 (From the TOP 25 Rankings) Oregon Ohio State Georgia Miami Texas Penn State Tennessee Indiana BYU Notre Dame Alabama Boise State The Opening Playoff Slotting (According to ESPN & Off of the Rankings) Byes: 1. Oregon [B1G, Plays 8 vs 9 winner] 2. Georgia [SEC, Plays 7 vs 10 winner] 3. Miami [ACC, Plays 6 vs 11 winner] 4. BYU [XII, Plays 5 vs 12 winner] 12/21/24 5. Ohio State vs Boise State [05 vs 12] 6. Texas vs Alabama [06 vs 11] 7. Penn State vs Notre Dame [07 vs 10] 8. Tennessee vs Indiana [08 vs 09] Edited to include linkage to the complete rankings, which appeared as if I did as I underlined the bold heading with the attempt to be neat

I would not have been opposed to Garrett getting moved as well. Though he's not exactly complimentary, I don't know if he'll be playing at decades end & to what extent

Part of me thought that Doc Rivers would be unemployed before Dennis Allen of NFL fame. Only for a second by the way!

Looks like Prescott will be out indefinitely, but the goods news for that community is Lamb being shelved until 2025 isn't expected
-
They were second place already heading into the game. Though they still had to win it; the team placement is based off of one's winning percentage. Not wins & losses. Looks like Minnesota will still need help from San Francisco and maybe Buffalo for them to regain the top spot.

Oregon, Georgia, Ohio State, Miami, and Texas make up both the AP and the Coaches Polls for the Eleventh College Football Rankings. Penn State and Tennessee are flipped for 6 and 7. BYU & Alabama are 9th and 11th, respectfully in both polls. Indiana, who is 8th in the AP, and Notre Dame, who is 10th in the same rankings, are reversed in the Coaches rankings. Boise State & SMU are next. Even if those were reversed, going off of those rankings alone, SMU is still out. Fortunately, and barring something. SMU controls their own destiny. Not great for teams like Notre Dame & Indiana, unless the latter can pull off the upset one week from Saturday. Clemson took a dive, as expected. Same with Texas A&M, Iowa State, Kansas State, and Pittsburgh. Those last 2, especially PITT, probably had to be victorious going forward anyway. Not it would have mattered, but they're still ranked for now. All of the above is basically moot as the First Rankings are released on Tuesday. That's in the direction of where they rank; the losses (and wins) are still a big deal. Looking forward to seeing that & giving my thoughts before taking a nice 36-hour break, which, hopefully precedes some heavy sports lifting where I'm focused (all-in) on the new-look College Football to go along with more focus on the NFL (starting with Bengals/Ravens) now that I have a better idea on who's good & who's not. One thing I'm looking at is where they'll put in teams like Boise and Indiana. In what will be the norm IMO & going forward, I'm never going to see BSU or any group of five team ranked in the Top 4 ever again. That's regardless of a decent undefeated record. I think they'd have a chance if a crappy Big 12 or ACC winner backdoor in as a conference champion. That could take at least a couple years. By then I could see a situation where something happens to where they're a stipulation allowing Notre Dame to get that first-round bye as a non-conference champion. NOTRE DAME

The Falcons have a better chance than you think, Magog. Overall, at least the Cowboys have accomplished something over the past half century + half decade. However, it's about this season. It's more probable than not that the Falcons win their division, and at the same time, it's more probable than not that Dallas isn't part of the annual NFL postseason, leading to a coaching change. Which would be the only thing changing, by the way. I think I'm definitely skipping the action this week. For one, my team has the week off. Of course, given the fact that teams can play on other days that aren't Sunday, it feels that way throughout the season. Time permitting & feel, I should tune into a decent Detroit/Green Bay game. And my remote does have a working mute button too! Minnesota/Indianapolis should be fine at night, with the latter. Unless I feel like watching Denver get spanked by Baltimore at the very least, there's no point in watching the early games. I think I'll definitely be all in for sure starting next week, with NFL Red Zone!

That is a fact. I'm not going to call this season a so-called sophomore slump. I think both Ryans & Stroud are doing the best they can. They aren't bad this year. It's just that they went from zero to hero, in their first year. So we figured they'd be great this year. Especially with Jacksonville sucking more than Atlanta. Still, I wouldn't be surprised if it came down to Houston and Indy, but the latter will have to double their efforts. In an unsuccessful attempt at that, they might be able to obtain a WC spot.

I'm not a Penn State fan. As a matter of fact, between decent programs from the State College team & Indiana to the Buckeyes & a team from the Great Lakes State, Ohio State is the choice. At least in football. If you'd ask me in terms of hoops (or the new teams from all sports), I might answer differently. That being said: it is total crap that Penn State is hosting Ohio State in daytime, period. Sure they've [FOX] got to pimp Big Noon kickoff, and if everyone had to bet, a night game changes nothing in terms of the outcome related to winning & losing. However, you just never know as every year is different.

Bob Costas Calling It A Career

Houston should be fine. Especially if the Jets knock of Indianapolis which should help secure the AFC South. The latter sentence might actually benefit Pittsburgh on a grander scale if it falls to that. The Jets schedule should be easy enough to win games, but that part started on Tuesday. Houston has looked sort of blah. Short week, road game, injuries. Still no excuse. Looks like 0/23 for Conference Title Game appearances.

Updated Playoff Slotting (According to ESPN) Byes: 1. Oregon [B1G, Plays 8 vs 9 winner] 2. Georgia [SEC, Plays 7 vs 10 winner] 3. Miami [ACC, Plays 6 vs 11 winner] 4. BYU [XII, Plays 5 vs 12 winner] 12/21/24 5. Penn State vs Boise State [05 vs G5] 6. Ohio State vs Clemson or ISU [06 vs 11] 7. Texas/Texas A&M [07 vs 10] 8. Tennessee/Notre Dame [08 vs 09] The above is based off of the Rankings from the AP Poll. This will be the last time they use it to determine slotting. Going forward, they'll use the CFB Top 25 Rankings, where there will not be a tie for 11th place. It'll be interesting to see where teams like Indiana and the winner of SMU/PITT end up. I gotta watch out for Memphis & Tulane, and I'm not sure as of this second what to think of Army & Navy

We'll see. To be honest, I think the NFL has a sense of humor. Putting the Jets on television on Halloween Night (just in the New York area and maybe somewhere in the Lone Star state). That I can respect. I think that receiver that blew it also respects Aaron Rodgers. Pretty certain that he & others advised him on a different TD celebration. That's right: an Aaron Judge celebration doesn't count in the National Football League
-
Fukui San: My reaction was not directed at you. Just at the situation. Although I couldn't care less about it (due to not caring about the Jets), it is vexatious that, of all of the things up & coming football/professional athletes learn from those that came before them...THIS is what they acquire!

Joe Burrow Might Have A Career In Botched Home Invasions Post NFL On a related note (or not) NO WAY The Article Author Was Born Before LIVE AID
-
I disagree. That would require Dallas actually playing for the title

I might get into this on a bigger scale, but I do not have to be a New York fan to know that it changes nothing in terms of the current feeling. Honestly, mojoween: I think you deserved a better outcome on your special day. At least last night, but I hope overall the day ends up more positive. Easier said than done of course; a real fan is supposed to feel horrible after that outcome. Other than the fourth & final NFL Wild Card Game from the 2011 season, I was anything other than pleasant following a non-favorable result. Regardless: In lieu of any live sports I might have to tune into all the sports Media reaction for what's next. At the very least there will be a lot

At the end of the day, the one good thing, on a sports level, is that the world title drought that lasted for over a dozen years for New York City has come to an end
