  1. The first Detour is "Great Bulls/Bowls/Balls of Fire" or "Mariachi Madness"*, the teams having arrived in the following sequence: Brittany/Jessica Brodie/Kurt Hagan/Marty Joslyn/Erin Ashley/Burnie Darius/Cameron Matt/Dana Korey/Tyler Blair/Scott Rachel/Zach Sheri/Cole ETA: Source - popscreen.com via Google Images (the picture below) and the FB Live Stream from Phil Keoghan's official page (the arrival order above as well as the location of the "Mariachi Madness" detour). * Performed at Plaza Garibaldi:
  2. starrychris from Survivor Sucks may have uncovered the site of an endgame leg:
  3. Were it not for a certain publicity event, the following would be causing more buzz: https://youtube.com/watch?v=Vl4QJMukOHQ
  4. From PK's own Twitter, the first cluebox is at the Monument to the Revolution and it contains a Detour envelope. (Damn S26 trends...)
  5. There were also sightings at Atlanta and potentially Miami and Dallas as well, which suggests that there may have been a non-standard Starting Line, i.e. instead of all the teams beginning from the same place, they will now be flying from different American cities to Benito Juarez Airport. Otherwise, why else would some be arriving direct from LAX when others are coming via ATL/MIA/DFW?* Joey/Meghan (and even the Jumba Wus) must be fuming at this lot's privilege. * Opening legs to Latin America in the recent past (e.g. from S13 onward) had teams fly from SoCal to one of the aforementioned transfer hubs.

  7. Quite frankly, it's as though BvM/WRP* were trying to get the cancellation from CBS on purpose. *Bertram van Munster and World Race Productions
  8. The S28 announcement renders the following even more obsolete: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ll52SlHdw8U
  9. Er, the country was also visited just last season, and the rabbit hop is from Denmark. (True, there are windmills in both episodes/countries, but still.) And those past teams are relevant to this season, how?
  10. In a season of subpar promos, here's the dullest yet: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7z8Hj4hX9Hc
  11. The current Top 2 find themselves together once more: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WPTeFP0lKpo
  12. The SB was to solve a slide puzzle of the Malawian* flag, though its alleged legacy of difficulty failed to knock out the team who had to do it (nor did its appearance this season prevent someone from placing in the podium at the end of the premiere, a.k.a. making the top three): I too found the painfully tacky Fantome Blanc (a la that histrionically moronic Filipino crossing guard in Manila a year ago) more akin in appearance to Austin of this summer's BB than the ex of the gal who contributed unofficial finale themes for S15/S17: = =/= * Coincidentally the last visit to Southern Hemisphere Africa during its winter, i.e. all other trips in the seven seasons in between having occurred in the corresponding summertime.
  13. You're right: the channel just uploaded them a couple hours ago, for God knows what reason. :P
  14. Finally, a tulip-themed task in the nation that popularized it (and unlike an opera-based challenge appearing at last in Italy two seasons ago when it had already debuted in the Czech Republic years back): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZPIRFJVZ8w
  15. The same S3 that "could stand to lose a few legs/episodes"? (There's constructive criticism and then there's just solipsistic nitpicking for its own sake.) How about something more current, if any can pass the needlessly arbitrary criteria of "objectivity"? Petty semantics aside, the two twists endured in the eyes of producers on both sides of the border. In the same vein: substitution or not, neither Doha nor Manama made the final cut; more saliently, let it be reiterated that islands played zero part in the "city/digit combos on shipping containers" Finale Memory Challenge. There was no suggestion whatsoever of ratings as regards the introduction of hashtags, and it is the burden of whoever introduced such a fallacious non-sequitur to rescind it henceforth. It is commendable to share the view that S9 fell apart following the first half of its TBC; nonetheless, if the consensus is for some to denigrate S21 for an awful first half even before/during/after the second half aired, then that principle would extend to the current season.
  16. Then what is an objectively non-terrible (in the sense of "must-see RTV", not just "watchable at the bare minimum") TAR season? The Save may have been a bust, yet both the "optional EP-hunt on the second leg" and "four teams in the finale" twists were influential enough to carry over to the third season of the Canadian edition and S26, respectively; the supposed archipelago theme is not only discredited by Morocco, but also ultimately irrelevant to the "city/digit combos on shipping containers" Finale Memory Challenge; and the Twitter-ification of the show is an inevitable outcome stemming from social media spillover ever since the BB15 fiasco two years prior. Furthermore, people swore to embrace that which immediately followed the divisive Family and Blind Date Editions...until reality proved otherwise, of course. At the very least, S25 showed that there could be a crossover season nearly as worthy as ur-example S5.
  17. Shelley and Nici, the Flight Attendants in orange Keith and Whitney, the Survivor jurors in yellow Personal conspiracy theories as to why The Voice won "Best Reality Show" instead of the finest submission since the S14 premiere a.k.a. the original Swiss Cheese Hill episode.
  18. Ahem, S25's widespread appeal was due in no small part to the crushing of the South Pacific crossovers by #TeamMomDaughter*, i.e. the proper complement to BB4's runner-up, her putito, and their "implocion" a decade earlier. * There's no accounting for the Emmy committee's lack of taste, re: bribe(s) by Carson Daly, extortion at the hands of Mark Burnett, etc.
  19. Wrong city alert! That should be "in the Hague after visiting Rotterdam and Kinderdijk". (It's especially jarring after last season's ninth leg/episode, but unsurprising given Cole's/Donny Ketchum's/Paron Xanthis's mantra, "Oh, details, details, spare me. When I hear "U.K.," I think of England, and that's it. Never think of Scotland or Ireland as part of it.") Where is the evidence for the bolded?
  20. The most recent are probably Dennis/Isabelle and Shelley/Nici of S25.
  21. Time to get some "Classic" chills:
  22. Indeed, all these viewers would've made for more entertaining racers than most of the actual cast - on the bright side, one should be thankful that nobody from BB16 made the cut, in effect clearing the way for the real crossover of the '15-'16 TAR cycle, S28's John(nyMac) and (Basic) Becky.
