  1. OMG! YES! The crazy diet supplements that she has been shilling is appalling ESPECIALLY because we know she looks the way she does because of genetics and hard work. It's unfortunate because I don't think she can make a living dancing like Holly seems to be doing. It seems a lot of the DCC alums are trapped in the DCC style or something similar that isn't exactly that marketable. I wouldn't go to any of their dance classes (specifically Keyra and Jenna).
  2. I have a really hard time assuming the worse about these ladies from just seeing a few snippets of them alone on a tv show/social media. The only DCC that gets a side-eye from me is Cersten because of her casual use of professional designations seemingly anytime she feels like it. I don’t get this assumption that Keyra was so arrogant that she ignored K&J and tried out anyway. If the punctuality was truly the deal breaker they would not have let her try out. Period. Shes sassy in her SM posts but I imagine it’s annoying rehashing getting cut. She probably was over it and then got a wave of comments and criticism from show watchers. That would stir up negative emotions from anyone and it probably sucks. And yeah, the solution to that is making her SM private and whatnot but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have the right to react.
  3. I’m glad Ketta wasn’t cut for weight like most people thought. I like Keyra. I think her personality is stronger than they would prefer which I can relate to. The whole “yes ma’am no ma’am” and America’s sweethearts but in booty shorts thing is really weird to me anyway. She is good and she knows it and I don’t see anything wrong with that. She backs it up unlike VK. From her Instagram story a while back, it seems like they didn’t tell her that she wouldn’t make the team again due to her issue with punctuality. It seemed to really be a surprise to her. She said that “Rumor is that I didn’t make it back because of being late to appearances” or something like that when she was asked.
  4. I used to be obsessed with this show the first few seasons. Unfortunately, most of the girls had no formal training in more traditional styles of dance and therefore had very little technique. Sunjai was featured initially as someone who didn’t have the dance skills for the majorette style but grew into it. That being said, she did get a dance scholarship to her university through the show and does have grace. I’m not sure how much she is dancing now or if she continued to study dance in college, but I don’t think she’d cut it for DCC. Ever.
  5. It’s strange! Maybe she requests them? I wouldn’t see a reason for that considering the uniform they wear, but I can’t think of much other reason. Or maybe it’s just a piece the designer provided and they had to work with it? Either way, it’s not a suit that someone in shape like her would wear. It would be good to conceal a tummy without being entirely covered because of the mesh.
  6. Yeah. She’s a bit soft around the middle, but I wouldn’t use the word fat to describe her. I suppose this kind of criticism is expected when you’re trying to be a professional cheerleader, but I still feel bad for the girls. In any other setting it’d be called “fat shaming”.
  7. Agreed. If these ladies are fat I’m obese for sure. I would love to be as fit as these ladies.
  8. So. Saying that a practice is the product of racism is not calling individuals or the organization itself racist. I don’t think that anyone involved is racist based on what I’ve seen. I don’t think the Cowboys organization is racist. Race is taken into account in the same way as hair color, height, and body type. They are operating in a world where race is unfortunately a factor. However, quotas or targets for women of color is a PRODUCT of racism because they would not be necessary if racism wasn’t a factor. An unrelated example is affirmative action which also would not exist without racism/sexism/ableism...etc. You’re right. It is what it is. All things considered, it’s completely reasonable for the DCC to have fewer women of color as a whole based on their fan base and the look they want ??‍♀️.
  9. Okay...A LOT of the South is black, arguably primarily so, but that doesn’t mean racism isn’t still prevalent. This kind of thing is just a fact of life. Racism is pervasive and touches every aspect of our lives in some way or another. Again, I don’t think that the organization is racist, just that race is a factor like anything else.
  10. I don’t think the organization is racist, but I do think race factors into some of their decisions. Just like hair color, height, or body type is a factor in some of their decisions. I think they need to have SOME diversity on the squad, but not TOO much because it is Texas and they know their fan base. So yeah, they might have a sweet spot for the number of black girls. This is a product of racism unfortunately. The team has a “look” to maintain to appease their fans.
  11. This! I’m squinting to find five tbh. I suspect that Keyra was cut because she looks heavier and also because they had other promising black girls to balance out that oh so important squad photo. The same way they balance the number of red heads and brunettes.
  12. She’s a sweetheart and always genuinely excited for others. If I were here I’d be like “*record scratch* but CHRISTINA though?!?”
  13. Yeah...I get it. I’m just sympathetic because I know she probably can’t change the way she carries her weight. She’s not big by any means but appears to be compared to the other girls. I think there’s definitely some wiggle room for diversity in body types.
  14. Poor Keyra. I don’t think she’s bad at all, and much better than Christina. I bet it’s her figure that got her cut and I don’t think there’s anything she could do to fix that. It’s how she’s built. She’s not heavy or anything.
  15. I think Keyra looks fine. She’s built differently than the other girls and is more stocky (like Vivian was). If anything, she’s gained a bit in her middle judging from older pictures on Instagram. Nothing the post-shoot edits can’t fix. A lot of the swimsuits are really terrible though. Pointless extra straps and tassels.
