I did like Georgie making that comment about not saying terrible things to his kid. He’s right. I don’t think George is trying to be malicious but he has definitely said some nasty things to Georgie over the years, as has Meemaw.

Why is that allowed? Doesn't he have a car?
Herman is on shift and could get called out at anytime. What happens if the Engine has to go to a scene and the lieutenant is blocks away in a personal vehicle?
I used to work in a grocery store near a fire station and would see the guys come in for food. They always came together and with their truck or engine. And more than once they’d abandon a half full cart if their radios went off.
Makes total sense that errands get run with the vehicle and all team members on board.

Does anyone know who the blonde (FBI?) woman was who asked Owen to plant the device? I've seen her somewhere before and can't remember... (could be a Hallmark movie!)
I searched on imdb but can't find her there either.
Amanda Schull. I know her from the movie Center Stage (2000)

Hey, if Kelly Severide can go play fire cop ever third episode of Chicago Fire, Owen can help take down a Neo-Nazi Biker Gang if he wants. That’s his God given right as a TV character dammit! I did love how fast Judd clocked them as Nazis though. Basically when we all figured it I’m sure.
I read that the Carlos is married to Iris storyline was there from the beginning if the actor is to be believed
I would believe the marriage storyline was plan. Retooling for Covid and not having Liv probably messed with it.
I’ll take Fire Cop over Owen-the-fake-Nazi any day.

They don’t have many options when they write out a character. They either die, get a new job or have some tragedy or breakdown that gives them an exit. I don’t blame the writers. They didn’t want to kill him off and he wouldn’t leave Haley without a good reason, so they gave him a problem he couldn’t overcome unless he left.
I'm glad they left the door open for Jesse to return and I do agree writers find themselves in a tricky spot once they've ruled out just killing off the character. But they could have at least made it bit less of Jay running off from his marriage, which seems wildly out of character for him. Sure, send him on a long term assignment to Bolivia but at least have him and Haley part on good terms. And it's easy enough for her to receive texts/emails from Jay going forward. Then maybe in a year or two, either have Jesse guest in and return to Chicago with a non-Intelligence assignment or confirm he's completely done, no guest spots at all and kill him off. That would have been my plan.
But I'm not a writer.

I do appreciate that both Kidd and Severide immediately shut down the truck/squad rivalry and made it clear that having the other members of the house arguing wouldn't be tolerated.
@Attatude I'm with you on Stella's side. Rule out the damn explosives!

Slate did an interesting interview on the topic with an attorney, breaking down why he thinks the charges against Baldwin will be a tough sell.

Yeah, after 14 seasons I think it's time. I stopped watching probably two years ago. It just wasn't engaging anymore after Linda checked out. It's funny how you don't realize til a character is gone how much they hold the ensemble together.

Very true @DanaK! As long as they don’t kill him off or assassinate his character the way PD did with Halsted.
Fortunately the nature of this show makes cover stories fairly easy and believable, with the door open for Taylor whenever he’s ready.
-
Oh dear. That doesn’t sound good.
Best bet is to write in an injury that forces Severide to stay home for awhile.

I was utterly shocked at how good Voight was at dealing with the kid.

My working theory is that the clash is resolved
Spoilerby Hermann losing his shit about Cindy’s cancer and telling Severide and Kidd to realize they love each other, cherish every second and GET OVER IT.

Sad that Cindy has lung cancer. I was surprised she didn’t grill the doctor about what stage it was or how serious it probably was given her disdain for doctors. It will be interesting to see where they take this
I think Cindy was in shock, hence lack of questions. And a lot of the questions can’t be answered til after surgery and a pathology report anyway.

Law & Order: SVU in the Media
in Law & Order: SVU
I agree. We need a nice funeral/memorial for him. And as many past cast members as possible to show up. Like when John Spencer died on The West Wing.
It wasn’t just the loss of a character, it was actual friends and colleagues mourning.
