I just finished 911. I didn't watch it before because every show I like on Fox either gets canceled in the first season or goes off the rails quickly. I really like most of the characters and how they are just one big happy family. I like that one of the characters Eddie has a son with cerebral palsy and he gets a ton of screen time. Although I think it ended I liked that Hen and Karen were foster parents. It didn't go the usual they adopt the first kid they get. It was hard when they had to give her back but they decide to contiune. They foster more children. That's something that rarely if ever happens on TV and I wish it did. It's very important.

I just started Call the Midwife. I've made it through season three. I know it's really popular and I can see why. It's a really good show too. Given Netflix canceling good shows all the time. I'm surprised it's had so many seasons. I really like most of the characters.  I do wish we saw more of the families in the neighborhood/community after their episode.

9-1-1 has not ended. They just got moved over to ABC for their seventh season and they premiere in March.

Call the Midwife is not a Netflix production, it’s from the BBC. It airs in the US on PBS in the spring and the new season usually shows up on Netflix about 8 to 9 months later. So no worries about Netflix canceling. The 13th season is airing in the UK right now!

I started watching NCIS in season 5 and it quickly became my favorite show during the Ziva years.   Ziva is probably my all-time favorite female character, I thought she kicked ass, and I was a huge Tony/Ziva shipper.  The way Cote left the show always seemed suspect to me, I was never completely sure it was her choice, which soured me on the show for a while.   I think the show today is a pale comparison of what it once was.

I loved Criminal Minds for the first few seasons but then it became nothing but torture porn for me and I couldn’t stand to watch it.  Unlike NCIS, it wasn’t a show where I felt much connection to the characters.

    I think we share a brain 😁

ETA: This episode was so bad, none of us even mentioned the fact that Jay's real name is apparently Jason 😂

    I completely missed that.

Exactly, something was very off with the episode.

I have absolutely no proof, but if I was a betting woman, I think something went down behind-the-scenes. They didn’t all just forget how to act because the hiatus was longer than usual.

  5. This was painful. The whole episode felt so awkward and stilted. It’s like the actors all forgot how to be their characters, and they got writers that are completely unfamiliar with everything. Either that or something seriously went down behind the scenes, and nobody can stand each other anymore. I’m honestly not sure which.

  6. Nope. Not on board with this one. Part of the charm of both this show and the Big Bang theory is the cast interactions. I’m not interested in watching Georgie and Mandy off in their own little corner. I’m interested in their interactions within the Cooper family and the Medford community. That we already see in Young Sheldon.

  7. That was a lot funnier than I expected. However, they did not do a good job of disguising the fact that they were shooting in the famous town square set on the universal lot.

  8. Wow! That’s terrible. I got to say, I think it takes a very strong person to not only survive and thrive, but to essentially spend their career in a role where you can’t completely get away from it. And to take on advocacy work as well.

Friends: Carol inviting both Susan AND Ross to be at the sonogram was a stupid and insensitive move on her part. Expecting your ex to stay in the same room with the person you cheated on and left him for is A LOT to ask. Especially when Susan could barely bring herself to be civil to Ross.

Come to think of it—and this might be slut-shaming, but screw it—it was stupid that Carol let herself get pregnant in the first place. When you’re cheating on your husband and planning to leave him, it’s prudent to at least make sure your birth control is foolproof (or you know, not sleep with two people at the same time) so you don’t wind up bringing a child into your fucked-up situation in the first place!

I always thought Carol deliberately got pregnant. She and Susan planned to use Ross as a sperm donor and quite stupidly and cruelly counted on him not wanting to be a father which of course backfired.

I think that if the show aired today, this is one of the storylines that would hit completely different. And would need to be treated very differently.

  10. It is a little strange that ABC would cancel a fairly high rated show. As for actors wanting out of their contracts, I’m sorry, but none of them have a significant name recognition. I can’t imagine there’s a ton of projects out there waiting for them. Having a regular gig on a Shondaland production is a pretty good deal. It would seem a bit odd if this came down to actors wanting to move on.

If it’s a matter of expensive production, I would think 9-1-1 would be the more expensive show. I have to believe Angela Bassett and Peter Krause cost more than Jaina Ortiz and Gray Damon. And 9-1-1 has a larger cast too.

  11. I’m kind of not surprised. Especially with the pick up of 9-1-1. Not only did ABC actively bring on another first responder show but they put it on the same night in some prime scheduling real estate. 8 PM on Thursdays is a valuable slot.

I’m going to assume that Ben will just transfer right back to Gray Sloan. And that Carina’s actress will continue to appear there as well.

I think it's because of all the post production they have to do with this show, trying to push for a March airdate is not going to be possible and they don't want the show running into summer, as ratings will be down. So, holding it for Fall because of the strikes is the better bet. And I don't disagree; as much as waiting another 11 months is going to suck, it's better for them to not try to rush and throw something together just to get it out. We already see from this show what happens when they HAVE the time to write and film episodes.

Which is why I suspect the OG 9-1-1, now on ABC, will be pushed to fall as well.
