  1. That scene was hilarious - the various expressions. Leopold was still chewing, Ernst had another wonderful expression, Melbourne did not even notice and Albert finally spoke for the common man and looked rightfully annoyed.
  2. I didn't see it that way. He was a man coming to marry a woman - not just a queen's husband like he kept muttering to himself. The respect should come later when he starts to get used to her being monarch and having royal superiority over him. That ought to take time to develop. Right now it is just a connection based on simple admiration and attraction. I didn't expect them to stuff in all the dynamics in one episode. Frankly it will be interesting to me to see how he deals with the whole 'my wife, the queen' phase which is inevitable.
  3. Like Melbourne, like Sewell but alas history must be repeated. lol Please, please did anyone here NOT notice Ernest for Coburg's sake? I found him hilarious - his expressions especially. He stole the show for me. I am looking forward to his escapades. Albert is one brooding specimen.
  4. Lol. Even after already seeing the series, I still don't know what to make of Albert............ Someone else stole the show for me...................
  5. Agreed 100% about Pillars, Rufus, Oakes etc. I too have seen the whole season. Fantastic and just my cup of tea. For some I couldn't get into The Crown. Maybe it is the perpetual bags under Claire Foy's eyes. I might try again but I'd rather watch this again.
  6. .If Horsfield doesn't find a way to add her own 'ingredients' and somehow make it about Ross and his moment to shine..........
  7. I think the money panic was temporarily solved by Larry's check? The turkeys I think were never poached if I remember correctly. I think the guy had hid them to blame the dog? Does someone remember this?
  8. Good luck to all of you as you try to understand! I'm off to Corfu!!! But before I go I just want to say that the guy who plays Aafrin could not and did not hold his own in that confrontation scene with all four of them. His weak acting was jarring and nearly ruined that scene. And not only that, why did the writers make him sound so stupid after he was released from prison and gone straight to Alice? Did he think that she would just be standing there on her own ready to go away again? The whole thing was too stupid to be believed. Anyway Ciao all. I can't even seek my 'ways and means' to find out the rest.
  9. I won't be watching next season as well. I barely got through this one and have skipped whole episodes! Now unto Victoria! Wait....I have actually seen and believe me, it will be the next big thing in PBS. Sorry for off-not so off- topic. Won't waste any energy typing anything about THIS Poldark. Cheers all. By the way what episode ran in the US on Sunday? There's no thread?
  10. What a horrible, disturbing, annoying episode. Did Alice really, I mean REALLY want to leave? She didn't try hard enough. And then Ian........................in fact I will stop here.
  11. What??? You guys at too calm. I'm still shouting even as I type - that whole purple dress/yatch scenes were HILARIOUS!!! I laughed and laughed myself deaf. Especially when Sven was there!!! HOOOhooo........haahaahaa..................... Speaking of Sven, I always enjoy when he's rude to her. In fact more of that. I don't see what she sees in him and yes I know he's good looking but so unfunny.
  12. Precisely! But I think I'm allowed to share if asked discreetly, in code or pigeon courier.
  13. lol you guys! Please don't froth at the mouth after the next episode.
  14. Yuck. My Closed captioning kept saying 'woman moaning................woman moaning'................. I knew this series wasn't going to do well.
  15. Yes it's the way the new producer chose to tell the story that makes it seem as if nothing happens. The old series has more characters fleshed out, more dramatic flair and more use of cliffhangers. That style engages me more.
  16. Brattinella some of them make the effort to clean out their websites. Seriously that's where I can catch good BBC shows like Our Girl, Line of Duty, The last unseen season of The Musketeers, Poldark, Indian Summers and I am sure I can see Victoria before it airs. And of course this show.
  17. Sneaky methods. Secret Websites laden with ads and virus that show every single wonderful shows that air in Britain - which I find much, much better than American shows.
  18. Lol it's like every one here has moved to Corfu! Oh well.......don't blame you.
  19. Saw this before through 'ways and means' and wanted to smack ALL the kids. Keely Hawes was also unrecognizable in the 'Line of Duty'. Maybe I will give it another try.
  20. And you were thinking of leaving the thread...................................... Excellent analysis. I too was surprised to see the stockings scene.
  21. Why are you guys bothering yourselves?? There are ways and means to watch them. I watched Masterpiece Poldark on same 'ways and means' so I pretended it was my own Sunday line-up.
  22. Ditto Liveenletlive I had completely forgotten THAT event as well. I don't know how......... And I agree that the inconsistences mean that the producer hadn't read the series into the later books hence some jarring notes like the Ross/Elizabeth head scratching conversation with Elizabeth shooing him away no less! In the book I found the whole thing even more annoying for different reasons. There was no shooing away or admonishing by Elizabeth if I remember correctly and Demelza wasn't even there to hear all that. I watch basically for Caroline and Matthew Crawley.............I mean Dwight.
  23. Yes it is wrong. You should want the black one that Alice wore with such defiance.
